Andrew - continuing his effort to end the Monarchy

Another new story on Andrew today. Photo's have emerged showing that on Epstein's desk, there were emails regarding Epstein paying debts owed by Andrew/Sarah to staff:

Why on Earth was a Prince of England having his staff paid by a sex trafficker?
Doesn't seem "too honourable" to me.

Epstein Had Emails from Staff of Ex-Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson on His Desk in Newly Shared Photos

New photos from Jeffrey Epstein's New York home appear to show an email exchange between former staffers for ex-Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

To use the popular word, optics . I think for many people ( myself included) the fact that AMW is still in the LOS looks bad . No matter how unlikely it is that he would inherit the Throne , it would be a lot tidier if he was removed .
Similarly , I think that he and Harry should be removed as COS .

I totally agree with you.

If they could find a way of doing it, that wouldn't be taking time away from more legitimate things across all the nations, I would be very happy.

I worry that from an 'optics' perspective it could be worse trying to do it and messing it up (by which I mean ending up criticised for taking time from something important for something that in the end is vanishingly unlikely to be needed).

AmplePlayer · 31/01/2026 23:46

The fact that Andrew hasn't been investigated looks bad, very bad actually - does anyone think he only indulged in bad behaviour in America or when Epstein was around... I don't think Harry should be removed from the los, if anything happens to William then Harry would be George's Regent ahead of Andrew/B&E, removing both Harry and Andrew before George is 18 would put Beatrice in charge who would still be influenced by her parents and who was seen visiting Andrew last weekend, unfortunately the York sisters have had a lifetime of conditioning by their parents, I'd far rather have Harry as a backup plan than Beatrice with the Yorks in the background.

TheAutumnCrow · 01/02/2026 00:18

If anything happened to William while George was under the age of 18, assuming Charles had already died, then I am fairly sure that George’s mother Catherine would be at the very least co-regent.

The next most senior working royals who are also Counsellors of State are Edward and Anne. I think a co-regency would be what the public would tolerate. Not Harry. Not Andrew. Not a York princess.

Nope afraid not, Regents go strictly in line of succession not Counsellors of State, nor working Royals, Catherine is not in the LOS, nothing to do with a public vote.

Lalgarh · 01/02/2026 01:48

By the way the Norwegian royals are also featured in the Epstein files.

Crown princess Mette Marit is in emails giving him tips for "wife hunting" and asking him if it's maybe inappropriate for her son to have wallpaper with naked women on it

Her son is currently standing trial for rape

I think they'd quickly get round that. They did in 53 when it was decided that Princess Margaret wasn't a suitable regent and drafted the act to make it Philip.

there would be a new regency act to make it Edward or Anne. Mostly likely Edward on the basis he's the next working royal in the LOS.

The fact the current act says it's strictly LOS doesn't mean they'll stick to that - same as they have tweaked the rules for counsellors of state

I understand what you’re saying but it’s what the public would tolerate that matters to both Parliament and the monarchy. An archaic, unpopular rule, law or custom can be changed, and workarounds found.

The whole Andrew debacle of him losing his privileges, styles, titles and honours piecemeal these past six years has been a series of fudges and workarounds, with the public’s reaction very much in the mind of the two monarchs concerned, I would say.

IMO! Other opinions are available.

I've just seen the email where Epstein tells a redacted person that he 'enjoyed the torture video.' The unnamed person is in China but will be travelling to the US. It is unclear whether the person is based in China or just visiting that country.

There are people who pay to watch women, children and animals be tortured on the dark web. There was a case a few years ago of a man in the Philippines sexually abusing and murdering children for paying subscribers.

All the worst things said about Epstein seem to be trickling out as truth. Where did his money come from and how did he get so much influence? What happened to children on that island? Why are names still being redacted?

Given that nobodies on social media have been talking about this stuff for at least a couple of decades, I really do not believe any of his rich and famous hangers-on who claim they had no idea of what he was about.

There have been rumours about a very extensive paedophile ring involving very powerful men for years and years. This involved torture and trafficking . It seemed unbelievable but now all too credible in light of these revelations.

Well well... Even the PM thinks Andrew should testify.

The Queen was refreshing in that she didn’t pander to social media trends - she was above it all. You’d never see her making videos like Kate’s recent nature film for example, which drew a lot of criticism.

Did you see the marmalade heavy double act with an animated fictional bear?!

It was fabulous. I loved it.

TheToothFairy999 · 01/02/2026 07:02

Puzzledandpissedoff · 31/01/2026 22:10

Agreed, Cathy, though we don't yet know just how complicit

However at the rate things are going I have hopes that this too will come out

In the meantime, though it's not my view I've every respect for constitutional monarchists, but quite how anyone can remain an actual royalist defeats me

That’s a very important distinction you’ve made between constitutional monarchists and royalists, and it’s made me realise that I’m now the former.

Given the US's track record when the boot is on the other foot on issues similar to this 'd rather hope our PM would stay silent on this....but if he's keen on AMW going maybe make it a twofer and offer up his mate Mandelson as well..

I can’t believe no one picked this yet! It’s quite shocking , truly the last person I ever imagined in contact With JE , it’s hinted she vacationed at his home, and he arranged a dentist appointment for her, why would she do that?

Presumably it's headline news in Norway, like Andrew is here?

There is no distinction

‘Constitutional monarchist ‘ is a fudge term to cover the blushes of rightly embarrassed royalists .

If you continue to support the current abusive set up that is imposed on the uk and make excuses if and buts and reform this and that you are kidding yourself and you are a royalist .

StartupRepair · 01/02/2026 08:43

No excuses for any of the hideous crimes committed by Epstein and his cronies but he seems to have had an extraordinary ability to draw people into his circle.

Some of the email are terrible - Epstein described Crown Princess Mette-Marit as not Iike a normal princess, but “twisted”, and then later called her a mess when someone wrote in an email to him that she had said she would carry his baby(??). It’s all round terrible for the Norwegian Royal family, what with Mette Marit’s son about to stand trial for multiple rapes and sexual assaults.

It’s also clear Epstein was keeping tabs on Princess Sofia in Sweden who clearly became known to him before she married the King’s son.

And the emails about Trump at parties are just horrific….

As StartupRepair says, he had an extraordinary ability to draw people into his circle and feel beholden to him. The obsequious tone of the emails to him from all and sundry is just … mad.

I am a Royalist and not embarrassed to say so but that doesn’t mean I agree with everything they say and do .
I met Sophie through my work and was extremely impressed with her subject knowledge and empathy whereas DH met AMW in the navy and detested him .

Maybe I am naive but I cannot imagine any of the countries involved arguing to keep AMW in the LOS so not sure it would take a huge amount of time to sort it out .
Or maybe he could do the right thing and voluntarily remove himself which I assume is possible ?

Ukisgaslit · 01/02/2026 09:41

@Mylovelygreendress

I can only assume you are blinding yourself to the truth . That’s your choice .

With what we know, royalists should be utterly ashamed of what they profess to support .
But thankfully their days are numbered .

billysboy · 01/02/2026 09:48

As we are all aware this whole scandal goes a lot further than Nonce Andrew and fergie
a good place to start for him would be to help and testify in order that the whole truth comes out
The pair of entitled grifters have no intention of that , step forward the people that enabled all of their behaviour
