Kate's birthday video "Mother Nature"

FloridaCheese · 09/01/2026 13:30

The PR machine is pushing Catherine as being the Queen of Nature, so wholesome and pure, and ending the video with "Mother Nature" just seems so forced to me.

I'm not really sure why she would release a 90 second video of this nature. Anyone else?

The rules of this thread appear to be if you criticise Catherine you can bring Meghan into it, no questions asked, however if you reply to that post or make a comment about Meghan and you defend Catherine you are accused of bringing Meghan into it, The “bringing Meghan into it” was started by a Catherine critic on page one of this thread, the third or fourth post down, start there and work your way through the thread and tag them.

So true!

You obviously haven't been following anything about Andrew. More and more things are coming out all the time.
Just dismissing it as 'old news' is ridiculous.
Of course they are panicing over this. There is far more to come out from the Epstein files.

I agree more detail has been coming out but it hasn't changed what we knew already. It's just that before we just knew Andrew slept with a trafficked person now we know more about how awful he is.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 11/01/2026 12:46

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/01/2026 12:28

Very weird asking for a thread not to be reported ...

I doubt there's much to worry about there, @BigWillyLittleTodger
If HQ didn't delete some of the filthy threads during the "Where's Kate?" thing I can't see them doing it now, even though some can't resist regurgitating the same unpleasantness Confused

Yes they were absolutely disgusting threads, I remember the mass exodus of posters when Catherine announced her cancer diagnosis, though we did have one poster who made a thread because they felt bad but then quickly forgave herself and told others not to feel bad as it was all the palaces fault! 😂

I think talking about Meghan and Harry, in some people's eyes, makes anything that William & Kate do... better.
I'm afraid it doesn't work like that!

Quite. Some people are not so gullible anymore, and are not prepared to fall for the latest pr video, etc, that whoever is advising the royals put out. The constant but Harry, and Meghan deflection is not working. Not for me!

What a load of saccharine, meaningless shite.

If Meghan released a soft focus, glossy curated PR video, she’d be torn apart. But it’s Kate so we’re supposed to lap it up and be grateful.

Here we go the first mention of Meghan third post in.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/01/2026 12:48

Out of interest, though this new hire's worked as a "crisis manager" before, does anyone happen to know if that's her actual title with W&K?

It's just that unless there's something new about to come out - always possible - I can't quite see any obvious "crisis" right now?

redmangyfox · 11/01/2026 12:49

ShesTheAlbatross · 09/01/2026 13:57

This thread is full of criticism, it’s nonsense to suggest that Meghan would be criticised for this but Kate will only be praised.

”forced”
”completely bizarre”
”word salad”
”meaningless tripe”
”ill timed”
”saccharine”
”nauseating”

I’ve not seen the video - is it like the one they did last year, all wandering around the woods? If it is, I’d probably agree with the above criticism because I didn’t like that one. Although I don’t think “ill timed” is right because I’m not sure there’s a better time for something like that. It will always be twee and a bit annoying.

Next one

I think they’re trying to play Meghan at her own game and looking just as crass , out of touch and entitled.

And again...

It hasn't changed what we know but more details are coming out about all his dealings. Just dismissing it is wrong. It reflects on the Monarchy big time. It's not just about sleeping with a trafficked person. It's what went on when he was in his role as a Trade Envoy, enabled by the Government of the time.

Reminded me of the saccharine Vanessa Redgrave voiceover on Call the Midwife. I found it all just too cheesy for me.

Even the poor nuns get it

Gettingbysomehow · 09/01/2026 15:02

It beats the queen of hearts, now that was meaningless tripe.

And Diana

BigWillyLittleTodger · 11/01/2026 12:53

Even if Andrew is sent to prison for it won’t make one jot of difference to William and Catherine, they will still become King and Queen, no one will blame them for Andrew, that’s at the late Queen’s door and now Charles. It’s down to William that he has been stripped of titles and his home, a taste of things to come when he is King.

I'm not dismissing it at all. I'm far not worried about the fact that the government ignored it than his mum. I'm far more concerned that it seems that politicians were treating the monarchy as absolute rather than constitutional. If the system had been working properly Andrew would have been removed as Trade Envoy far earlier, regardless of what the late Queen wanted. He would have had far fewer chances to make contacts that he could milk for money.

I want to see effort into fixing this going forward and i don't see much evidence that politicians are doing that.

MrsLeonFarrell · 11/01/2026 12:57

To clarify I think that all the revelations are causing a lot of column inches but i don't see much work being done in making sure it can't happen again. Andrew is a good target but what about the others involved and calling them to account? And what about the way people with power and money in general think the rules don't apply to them? If we royal family were removed tomorrow I don't see any evidence that it would stop this happening again.

DaphneduM · 11/01/2026 12:57

In a way, this is the conundrum for the royals - they never thought that Harry and Meghan would be the success they are, walking that tightrope of commerciality balanced with their charitable stuff. @redmangyfox fox says Harry and Meghan are relevant!!! They only are because of their so effective, professional operation which contrasts with the woeful William and Kate.

I personally think the King does a good job, has developed so much when he was Prince of Wales like the Princes Trust and is still working hard even though he has had a gruelling time with his cancer treatment. Also he is an elderly man now. The very least he should expect is for William to be more active with things like investitures, which seem to be mainly done by Princess Anne. Also it is noticeable how much the elderly Duke and Duchess of Gloucester do in the way of public duties. (No complaints from me on this, the Duchess is a stylish woman and I love seeing her jewellery and fashion choices!)

The conundrum is Invictus - what to do? Harry is inextricably linked to it - he's been the one to develop it to the success it is today. It's coming to Birmingham in 2027 - alongside, I would think, definitely Harry and maybe Meghan. If the Royals snub Invictus, they're effectively snubbing all those brave military who have fought for our country - how to balance this? Crisis manager needed!!!!

I think a taste of things to come will be more secrecy, less work and more profits for the out of touch Windsor’s.

I see it heading that way too.

Tbf though, this new hiring could show that they can see things aren’t working and that they’re willing to make changes somewhere, so let’s see what happens.

DaphneduM · 11/01/2026 13:14

We're all entitled to our different opinions @redmangyfox. And I guess it depends how one quantifies 'success' and what criteria one is judging success on.

In my opinion yes, they are successful by my criteria - independently wealthy, developing a sound and increasingly profitable business, meaningful work and established in California with their children. I'm interested to hear why you don't consider Harry and Meghan successful and what criteria you are basing your opinion on?

They just closed down an questionable charity. Based on the numerous articles that I have read, Meghan's business isn't doing well despite the PR fluff. There are jokes that As Ever products will soon be coming to US dollar stores. Then there is the question of Harry's visa.

Might I add that the lifestyle of the rich in Southern California is bad for the environment. Much of the SoCal water comes from other states. Large gardens of non- native, drought resistant plants, and large houses with Central air are leeches on the strained California ecosystem, which in turn is impacting other states. Showing up and doing good apparently doesn't involve reducing your environmental foot print.

What on earth is all that to do with this thread? Can't you post that on the currently running Meghan and Harry threads?
You are derailing.

It's boring.

Thegala · 11/01/2026 13:39

Fortunately William and Catherine are not tainted by Andrew, they appear to be squeaky clean and I hope it remains that way.

Charles certainly has had a hand in ignoring his brother and his wrong doings, hoping it would all go away, but I do wonder if he had not been ill would he have acted before he was forced to, although I am doubtful. I don't know what else could come out about Andrew that could be more shocking than what we already know, but who knows ! I think anything else will be a 5 minute wonder for the majority.

The RF remain popular with the majority of the British public, not as popular as 20 years ago, and for sure William, Catherine are the ones helping with that popularity, and once their kids come of age I think it will add a whole new level of interest in the RF, and surprisingly Charles seems to be far more popular than I could have ever imagined. I would never have dreamed public opinion would have turned against Harry to the extent it has.

If I were in William's shoes and my vindictive jealous brother was desperately trying to wangle his way back into the family fold, after a short 5 years of failing to make in on his own, I too would be hiring a hot shit publicist to ensure he didn't try to destroy me and my family for a 2nd time, he might be even worse 2nd time around considering the gulf between his popularity and image compared to his brother.

@NotARealBalletDancer

Quite.

It seems to me that the Western world is on edge right now. There is turbulence in the air.

The reaction from most at the top is ... to hire crisis PR.

People are not stupid though. Things like this video draws the focus to how self indulgent, vain, and disconnected they are.

Of course the RF are disconnected from the common man, it is in the name and so on.

But some appearance of propriety, understanding, and moral uprightness would surely be a better road than this type of thing?
