Kate's birthday video "Mother Nature"

The PR machine is pushing Catherine as being the Queen of Nature, so wholesome and pure, and ending the video with "Mother Nature" just seems so forced to me.

I'm not really sure why she would release a 90 second video of this nature. Anyone else?

Its sick that she/they are using cancer to promote the RF.

eta that while most of us will have seen Kate being ill as a terribly sad thing, a group of people have seen it as a positive, an opportunity for some PR spin. Kate has either been in on that or at least allowed them to do it. It’s disgusting.

Catherine was treated at the Royal Marsden hospital which is an NHS hospital, most of their patients are NHS patients , so plenty of 'us plebs' would have access to the same hospital, treatment and consultants as she had, if it wasn't for the Governments post code lottery getting in the way.

While the RM is a world class oncology hospital, if she had really wanted the best oncology treatment in the world she would have been treated privately in the US at the Mayo Clinic or Sloan Kettering , now THAT is what I would do if I had the funds. Plenty of international HNW and other RF go there for treatment as they can afford it. Imagine the outcry if she had done that.

The bitterness about a woman being treated for cancer is unbelievable, and the drama about a very inoffensive video, saccharine or not, and an engagement ring that her now husband inherited is crazy, and a sad indictment of the mindset of, thankfully, a minority of the British public who I suspect are republicans and /or Sussex fans.

The videos are there to see. She starts her first one talking about natute being her sanctuary over the past year . They linked her cancer, the past year, to these videos which promote Kate and the RF as a whole. They chose to do that. I don’t like it. Others think it’s ok. Opinions will vary.

This isn't remotely comparable to a member of the RF self promoting.

Oh yes, and that lovely young woman who died of bowel cancer, she really 'bigged' that one up, right up to her death. Jade Goody, didn't she 'big' her cancer up too, or do you have to die of cancer before you are absolved of 'bigging' it up.

So many people out there 'bigging' up their cancer, such a crime against humanity.

How TF can anyone be accused of 'self-promoting' their cancer, what is wrong with people.

Catherine had /has cancer, she went through a gruelling 9 months of chemo and god knows what other treatment. She has been very private about her cancer, we haven't seen her hooked up to chemo drugs, vomiting into the toilet, having diarrhoea in her bed, blistered mouth, chunks of hair on the shower floor, is that what people wanted to see? .

Deborah James, because she has a name, and Jade Goody, again not members of the RF promoting themselves and manipulating the public to increase popularity of the monarchy at a time when things like Andrew revelations, the Duchy finances and forever homes need to be deflected from.

I don't find argument convincing for a couple of reasons.

Of all the members of the Royal family William and Catherine need positive PR the least. They regularly top poles of the most popular members of the family.

If they were doing this for PR they would have released far more details, instead of keeping it as private as possible, and would not have been silent during the media storm when Catherine was first ill.
