The royal family

It had been happening for the last few years though, with people turning up and behaving inappropriately. They should say gifts will not be taken. These people are using gifts to lure children they dont know towards them. They need to be strongly discouraged and the only people who can do that is the RF by telling people not to bring gifts because they will not be taken, or that any gifts will be taken by staff and given straight to charity.

I expect people still have to come through the gate for the bag check and the frisking, so I guess big toys and big chocolate bars could be confiscated! There could certainly be notices and an understanding that gifts are not welcome and won't be taken. What would the criticisers say then? The late queen was certainly offered flowers. What would you do about flowers?
The late queen used to go round to church by car. Could Mike Tindall be in charge of two cars full of children and get them into church and out again without them having to run the gamut of the 'gifts and selfies' along the path?

ForMashed · 27/12/2025 21:37

Makes you wonder how he'd feel if his own daughters had been pimped out... especially at a young age...

The Queen was an adult. Totally different if she wants to greet people and accept gifts.

They’re hardly struggling to find someone to deal with the kids. There are nanny’s and security and other staff coming out of their ears. You make it sound like this is one of us trying to sort logistics out for our kids. 😂

simpsonthecat · 27/12/2025 21:55

It's a wide path, why can't they walk within the central part of it, smile and wave.
It's become a joke, people camping out and flying from the US to see them. The royals might be happy with allowing their children to be touched, hugged, photos taken and gifts thrust at them by complete strangers, I certainly wouldn't be.
Too many on the edge people there as far as I'm concerned. It takes a certain type of person to be so obsessive. Hearing some of them interviewed, it would be a no thank you from me

🤢

I just watched the footage of the nut job telling them that granny Diana would be so proud of them.
Someone needs to contact the DSL in Lambrook.

Flowers given to an adult are not the same.

These three children are 7, 10, and 12. They cannot give real consent to people who touch them, want selfies, and give them gifts, because they don't fully understand all the connotations.

Until they're 15, 16, even 18, and can make their own decisions they should not be allowed to be used in this way by, what are quite frankly, weirdos after their latest royal thrill.

Luring children with gifts or shouting their names so they can paw at them and have photographs with them is not the act of any normal person with normal boundaries.

When the Queen accepted flowers did she experience what these children are experiencing? No, of course not. No one would have dared.

TeideHeart · 27/12/2025 22:09

"Fuck, Catherine, if your mother can't take them for an hour, we're just going to have to let them walk down the path with us."

That is fucked up.

Can't think what W and C are thinking allowing it. They're setting their children up for having very poor boundaries in the future.

George laughed as he said thank you whilst looking like he was thinking ‘you crazy, crazy bastard’. 😂

Exactly. These weirdos are taking advantage of these children’s young age and lack of experience, but worse are William and Kate for allowing their children in that position. I really don’t know what they’re thinking to allow it.

crossedlines · 28/12/2025 11:36

Ok so here’s my question: how does W ensure the monarchy retains some place in society without allowing some level of public accessibility? Clearly he wants to reshape and slim down the monarchy but he’s got a tricky job on his hands.

don’t get me wrong: I don’t get these nut jobs who wait for hours to catch a glimpse or get a selfie with the royal kids and I think it’s ghastly that they’re exposed to this. Even if people were stopped from giving gifts or speaking to them, it would be awful imo for the kids to even have to parade down a path being watched like that.

but if you strip all that away and the children are allowed privacy, how does the monarchy continue to function?

im actually a republican and would happily see it go, but it must be a terrible dilemma to be born into it. I’d want to reject the possibility of succession if I were W (can he even do that? Or does he automatically become king and have to abdicate? ) But even that isn’t the answer because he’d face public outcry.

It’s a ridiculously privileged lifestyle in some ways. In others, it’s the last thing many sane people would want.

RainbowBagels · 28/12/2025 11:52

It never used to happen though. Accessibility can be granted if people want to stand and wave but the luring the children over with giant teddy bears and selection boxes and the Diana rubbish is a step too far. I do think your question is why they entertain it though. They are desperate for the Monarchy to continue at all costs and if that means exposing their children to these kinds of people then so be it.

I think they’re in an impossible position though. The choice of stepping away and renouncing the crown would bring at least as much public outrage as the antics going on at the moment

The Monarchy is a long term institution though. We know who the next 2 Kings are expected to be. One of them is a12 year old child. If they make a decision it could be a decision for 50 years time if they wanted. They could decide to restrict working Royals to just the Monarch and direct heir. Instead they are preparing their 12, 10 and 7 year olds to desperately cling onto a role that is rapidly becoming irrelevant but is exactly the same as it was for the last 3 generations of succesively either incredibly fucked up or incredibly unhappy and dissatisfied, spares.

Marcipix · 28/12/2025 12:43

It’s simple.
If you want the children to walk to church, instruct them/nannies/security to keep to the path. Smile, wave, nothing else.

Inform the public that no gifts will be accepted by the children, also no selfies/hugs. Anyone calling the children over to them will be removed by security.

Otherwise the children can easily be sent by car.
And if that doesn’t happen, then we know that William and Katherine are happy with the existing débâcle.

TeideHeart · 28/12/2025 13:02

I think with the longevity of the Queen and her apparant suitability for the role, we forget the rest.

Edward 8 abdicated because he wanted to marry a divorcee; George 6 hated being King and just wanted a quiet life; Margaret was unhappy and struggled to find her niche; Charles 3 waited over 70 years for a role he had spent his life waiting for; Andrew as spare went completely off the rails; William has no interest in reading anything about the role, and prefers to watch football; Harry was fucked up by it all; and George, aged 12, is already being introduced to dignitaries in his role as future King; his siblings will be expected to support him and find suitable roles within the Royal framework unless they choose to ditch the whole thing.

Every generation isn't complete without an accompanying fucked up mess. These three young kids deserve better than to be expected to parade about for the pleasure of others for the rest of their lives.

While also seemingly forgetting that Diana was NOT well liked immediately before her death. She was criticised roundly, behaving in a "bad" way, dating too many people, dating the "wrong" people, doing that TV interview, the controversial photo op at the Taj Mahal etc etc.
She only became so highly thought of again as a result of dying

This post gets repeated endlessly on any thread where Diana has been mentioned; even if it’s very tangential to the subject matter being discussed. It’s really odd.

ThatChihuahuaMakesMeLaugh · 29/12/2025 01:09

The Sandringhan walk is a great deflection tactic though. At least three threads are now talking about the children being hugged by randoms, the nutter talking about Nanny Diana being proud of George and Louis with his Lindt chocolate, and no one is talking about Andrew the sex offender. Great work by the Royal family.

That is true, although the Royals wont want any criticism of the heir. They probably thought desperately throwing the children to the nutters would be distraction in the 'Look how cute the future of the Monarchy etc etc'.
I do wonder why Bea and Eugenie don't spent Christmas with their parents though. I suppose being seen on that walk is good advertising for their ME activities.

Do you think the Royal Family is bribing people to meander off on to posting about the Sandringham walk, or do you think there hasn't actually been any news about Andrew since the 'inappropriate persons' e-mail so there hasn't been anything much to say about him?
If only the king had invited Andrew to go to church with the rest of the family that could have kept a lot of people happy for days on here, without any accusations of deflection.
