So Meghan lost her fathers number but is ringing round hospitals and will send a handwritten note, as per Sussex sources speaking through the Sun, the Telegraph and the Times.

I mean I have no idea, how it works with PR for very famous people, but surely there are scenarios they prep for?

Her dad is in his 80s, severely obese and has suffered ill health for years. You would think, there would be protocol in what to do should the worst happen.

That would include having up to date contact info. This isn’t something Meg would need to have/get involved with if she’s estranged, but surely ‘The Office of the DDOS’ would. Then engage in their set plan- whether that’s a public statement that this is a private affair or that contact has been made through the proper channels.

Whatever this is, it isn’t professional-it’s complete chaos.

Who has been driving and funding all of this to date @AtIusvue ?

Looks like there is some money left by Max Mosley to target newspapers for court action ….they might be using that?

Attacking her but her dad being on speed dial to numerous journalists and having a DM journalist by his bedside - that’s all absolutely fine and he’s just a stand up father.

She didn’t write to him, oh she did but she didn’t do it soon enough, he’s got a journalist by his side but that’s okay because someone should he even though said journalist put him on the front page when he’s supposedly sick, he should have someone advocating for him and it should be Meghan for some wild reason even though he constantly sells her out.

Posters are so consumed with hatred for her that what is undeniably disgusting from the media and her father is somehow her fault!

I kinda feel sorry for her now. We don't know what really happened. We only know the media's version of events. I think he was a good, generous father but he kinda lost his way/wits somewhere. I don't understand why Harry and her father never met prior to marriage or ever. It looks like - when she started being successful - she also started being ashamed of her dad and her whole family. She was so scared of what the people would think of her and her background that she never invited anybody from her family to her own wedding. She started creating this whole new persona that she was supposed to be now, making friends with celebrities and Hollywood, denouncing her family etc. It's kinda sad when you look at it. But equally, I understand how difficult this must be for her right now - her dad - whom she really wants to hug and say goodbye to - made some DM journalist his best friend and confidante. I don't know what really happened and why they fell out, but it looks like she was ashamed of him in the first place, when historically, he had been so good to her, and then he made a silly mistake, was told off, and got upset, like, you've never even visited me with your fiance, why should I do what you're telling me, how dare you telling me off. It's an impossible situation now and I'm sure she's suffering, too, but I think to some extend, she has done this to herself unfortunately.

BemusedAmerican · 12/12/2025 13:14

So people in that phone case may have been deceived and will potentially be responsible for millions in legal bills? Can this eventually become a criminal case? It just sounds incredibly irresponsible.

I don’t think she was ashamed of him once she started to become successful in Suits. He gave her away (with Doria) on her first wedding, she gushes about him in The Tig and speaks fondly about him in the engagement interview with PH and has referred to him positively in many other interviews. She spent Thanksgiving 2016 with both parents all together in LA when she was already dating Harry. The whole world knew what he looked like way before the wedding so it was no surprise that he was a bit bumbling and scruffy - it’s just family life - and people would have been keen to see his ‘glow up’ on the day. He didn’t stand out as being any less attractive than other mature fathers giving their daughters away at royal weddings.

She's got nothing on Jackie. I remember an article in my Jackie annual one year showing how to wrap things - the one that stands out in my memory was how to wrap a tennis racket so it looked like a bunch of flowers.
They didn't give bottles as presents in the Jackie days of yore, but I bet they could have come up with something better than a scarf.

I think I remember that one @LaMarschallin!

Did any of us think to ask which of the Jackie-reading sorority would give anyone a tennis racquet as a secret gift?

Exactly, @prelovedusername
I suppose you'd have to persuade any non-tennis playing friends (including myself) to take it up posthaste.
It would still be a bit of an extravagant gift from one teenage girl to another.
Wish I could remember the other ideas - they may have been more practical.

Wouldn’t bet on it. These were the days of the Blue Peter Advent Crown AKA Inferno.

OMG Harry and Meghan have announced that they are going to produce a documentary "Cookie Queens" about Girl Scouts selling cookies .....

I have to admit that I thought it was a joke - especially the bit about the "emotional and intellectual stakes" of selling cookies - when I saw some references to this earlier but Harry and Meghan's favourite outlet - People Magazine - are also reporting it.

From the announcement blurb....
"For these Girl Scouts, selling cookies isn’t just about Thin Mints and sisterhood — it’s a crash course in entrepreneurship. Behind the smiles and cookie boxes lie real pressure: long hours, ambitious sales goals, and the weight of high expectations. Nahmias crafts a bold, vibrant, observational portrait that honors the girls’ perspectives and illuminates the emotional and intellectual stakes of their experiences.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Announce New Sundance Documentary 'Cookie Queens,' Tapping Into Her Girl Scout Roots

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are set to executive produce a new documentary about Girl Scout cookies.

BoxingHares22 · 12/12/2025 18:00

I saw that but didn't read it as I found the idea just so laughable I couldn't take it in. Next they will be flogging floor cleaner and claiming it will save the world.

Serenster · 12/12/2025 18:00

The documentary is already made. Like “One Life to Lead” this is a project they have picked up at the distribution stage.

Mylovelygreendress · 12/12/2025 18:04

Of course they announced something today . KC is releasing a statement later today about his cancer journey .

My2cents1975 · 12/12/2025 18:17

As ever, KC3's is at fault. Why can't dear King Pa coordinate his calendar with H&M?

I had never heard of this so googled and I read it's a contentious issue. There's been issues with toxic contents of the cookies.

I thought the girls made and sold but it's a company producing already made cookies and the girls literally just sell them. I can imagine the shenanigans. It's Dance Moms but with cookies.

It's also an odd choice from someone who wrote a letter to whoever it was about why was dish washing liquid aimed at women! We now have Meghan supporting girls selling cookies. 😬🤷‍♀️

BigWillyLittleTodger · 12/12/2025 18:31

Scouts? an interesting choice, what other royal is involved in the scout movement…….🤔

BigWillyLittleTodger · 12/12/2025 18:38

So the Girl Scouts are aged 5 -12 years of age and this is expected of them? Why would any parent want this pressure for their child?

Ooof, the comments btl are brutal.

Lunde · 12/12/2025 19:06

Girl Scout cookies and similar products (very popular where I live to raise funds for school trips and clubs etc) are just MLM for kids. Although it raises funds for schools/clubs - the factories that make the cookies get a lot more as they can charge retail prices without having any shops and by recruiting kids as an unpaid sales staff - however much they try to dress it up as "leadership skills".

BasiliskStare · 12/12/2025 20:41

Is this part of the new NF first look deal or an Archwell joint production. If I'm honest if I were a small production company I'm not sure given Polo and One Life to lead , I wouldn't rather take this to the Sundance festival without the executive producering of H&M. But maybe they (people who've made the documentary ) need the contacts / money / publicity.

Michael Pavano on instagram does a funny take of her wrapping wine in a scarf.
’ You could use Gucci or failing that, Prada!’
He’s a great mimic.

Executive producers no less.

I had to look that up on a film site, just to double check what that function is.

  • Introduce new concepts and ideas that may align with brand initiatives of the project.
  • Ensure production meets competitive goals and projects the intended brand image.
  • Supervise other producers and ensure they, and the production, work within union regulations.
  • Oversee and approve the hiring of marquee talent.
  • Maintain the budget and approve schedules.

Ahh. so it's not exactly hands on. It's more like a case of the folk at the coalface do the work and the creation, they sit there and nod their heads and make sure it "aligns with brand initiatives of the project."

Par for the course really.

Podcasters: a pro team do the work, , they smile and wash the veg under a tap.

Jam spread : A jam company makes it, they decide who samples are sent to.

I am surprised they made kids together and did not just leave it to the pros, tagging their names on at the end.

Apologies, that bit was uncalled for, but come on :-)

Sundance festival too. That means they will be expecting an award. Cos they done the hard stuff.

But hey, maybe we will get a film with Meghan in full Kate Addie mode, in front of the camera in full press warzone gear ,as the guides enter a " rough neighborhood", Harry hovering above in an Apache attack helicopter, ready to deal with any Daily Mail journalists hiding in the bushes.

:-)

Remember the pencil holder made out of half a fairy liquid bottle covered in sticky-back plastic, ‘which I’m sure any big sister or auntie would love for their bits and bobs this Christmas’? That was dragged out every year too.

Why is all the fairy liquid and toilet paper being used so fast ?

As my mum used to ask :-)

Phase42 · 13/12/2025 16:20

I saw something about Meghan being a Girl Scout and her Mum Doria being a Scout Troop Leader. I think that's lovely - my kids are involved in it too.
It does seem strange though that she didn't live with her Mum for years and that in WLM she suggested that she was almost a latch key kid. It just doesn't tie in with the Scout bit?
