So Meghan lost her fathers number but is ringing round hospitals and will send a handwritten note, as per Sussex sources speaking through the Sun, the Telegraph and the Times.

I mean I have no idea, how it works with PR for very famous people, but surely there are scenarios they prep for?

Her dad is in his 80s, severely obese and has suffered ill health for years. You would think, there would be protocol in what to do should the worst happen.

That would include having up to date contact info. This isn’t something Meg would need to have/get involved with if she’s estranged, but surely ‘The Office of the DDOS’ would. Then engage in their set plan- whether that’s a public statement that this is a private affair or that contact has been made through the proper channels.

Whatever this is, it isn’t professional-it’s complete chaos.

Thomas appears to have no one looking out for him.

Thats just what I said upthread. So sad

GarliceGran · 10/12/2025 19:56

It’s funny that MM is so concerned about her and her father’s privacy during this difficult time. As she didn’t have the same considerations when our dear Queen was on her death bed….

The 28 day notice is per employment law. If staff leave has to be cancelled the employee is entitled to 2 weeks notice minimum. Usual 2 weeks annual leave means 28 days.

The minions don't matter to H obviously 🙄

This is really quite important and should be made clear in the papers

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 10/12/2025 21:18

Also,

I do love the RF boards, I find it great escapism and have never felt bad about discussing any of them as they have such privilege.

However, I'm bored with H&M. As a pp said, they are not really RF anymore, I've never been interested in celebrity.

OhDear111 · 10/12/2025 16:37

No hospital lets on random journalists 24/7! It’s just ridiculous.

Especially in ICU, I thought it was immediate family only?

Thedom · 11/12/2025 05:25

Unethical,😏😏 is so funny coming from Meghan Markle.

What about her befriending and schmoozing one of the most high profile journalists in the world and recording a 2 hour TV special., what about her giving private family information to said journalist and crying in her face, wearing heavy eyeliner to cosplay Diana. What about allowing a Netflix crew record her bawling on her sofa.

The woman is so egotistical and really appears to be very unstable.

NewAgeNewMe · 11/12/2025 05:39

The saying ‘Do as I say not as I do’ springs to mind.

AutumnCrown · 11/12/2025 05:48

Why hasn’t Meg done a perfume yet? Or makeup? I don’t get it. Even Billie Eilish my favourite quasi-rebel scruff-pot has a perfume, I have just learned, making a mint.

Why the shitty food tubs and guinea pig food and heavy-to-ship anodyne wine?

Is it to do with the actual size of the actual fan base, ie reality?

MrsLeonFarrell · 11/12/2025 07:21

In the words of my Granny, two wrongs don't make a right. The fact that Meghan did Oprah doesn't make what The Mail is doing now excusable. It is not about who they are targeting and exploiting, is the fact that they are.

I agree. I do wish they'd drop the titles, then there wouldn't be even a tangential link. They aren't even doing anything new, they just keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

Also- it wasn’t that difficult for Megs to get the hospital info

‘As soon as Mr Markle gave consent for his contact details, the name of his hospital and his room number to be provided to his daughter’s spokesman, Caroline shared them.’

Interesting reference there to “spokesman” - not spokesperson or spokeswoman.

not sure exactly who they’ve got on the team now but that indicates certainly it’s not Meredith.

I agree to an extent, but Meghan is the one publicly declaring it is exploitative, considering how she has done exactly the same on a much larger scale, it again shows her up for the hypocrisy she is known for. She is the very last person to be putting out statements like that !

She also has exploited the media in this sorry affair !

@AutumnCrown it is very strange, I do wonder if this is Harry's line in the sand. Food etc is just their version of Highgrove.

All that may be true but it still doesn't make what The Mail is said to be doing right in any way.

But is it better to have someone than no one?

I imagine their is a financial benefit to this. Is he vulnerable, or are we just assuming because of his age? No one thinks Trump is vulnerable.

I don't know if he is vulnerable or not. The journalist isn't there as a friend though are they. A friend wouldn't use what is happening for copy.

Thedom · 11/12/2025 08:33

Hopefully the letter includes a reassurance to her father that she will cover his medical bills, maybe a carer when he gets home and a decent place for him to live in.

How she left him to live in almost poverty, I just don’t know !

She doesn’t need to have a relationship with him to at least help him financially..

One way or the other they are the most awful family, no class or dignity.

AtIusvue · 11/12/2025 11:26

The journalist is based in LA and whether she is true friends with Markle snr or not, it wasn’t the DM that asked her to fly out.

Markle Snr called her, because he sees her as a friend, and asked her to fly to the Philippines. Again, you can argue about her real intentions, but this wasn’t a mastermind plan by the DM.
Opportunistic though?….of course.

Also, for those that think they are above reading the DM. Most of my references for my posts are from there….so no need to engage with my posts, seen as my sources are so awful.

MAIL READER !!!!

:-)

Joking aside, I can't access the Mail where I am so the info is appreciated.

Not making excuses for anyone here, but it won't t be cheap for the friend, so with her being a journalist it makes sense to try to recoup some of it from the Mail.

And to really stretch my theory here, if the Dutchess has to keep clothes for her historic record, is it not better for a skilled writer to be there to record it all for posterity ?

SidekickSylvia · 11/12/2025 13:07

I've just seen a clip of the 'Holiday Season' thing, where she says that another anomaly for people at this time of year, is how on earth do you wrap a wine bottle? (She then demonstrates wrapping a bottle up with a scarf.) She uses the word anomaly with such confidence for someone using it in the wrong context, why didn't someone tell her that it doesn't mean what she thinks it does? That her sentence doesn't make sense? It's so heavily edited, yet they left that in.

Treylime · 11/12/2025 13:23

Thats a bit like Archetypes when she probably meant stereotypes. Who would want to correct her?

Yes, it’s the titles (and tbh the aligned appearance of utter arrogance and dimwitted political meddling) that make them a target.

And the newspapers and media know they are easy to poke and prod and wind up, and provoke into a storyfiable clap-back - particularly as they know that H&M read the BTL comments.

The Express is at it again today, also the Mail and Mirror. And Australian media. They will always play the ‘sources say that …’ game better than H&M.

Exactly this. For her to have so much, and him so little, is a poor reflection on her as a so called humanitarian.

This is what I have always thought, I don’t have a relationship with a close relative, however if I heard they were seriously ill and living in poverty I would financially support them and make sure they were comfortable and cared for. I cannot get over Meghan being a multi millionaire and standing back while her seriously ill Father lives in poverty in the Philippines and then she also has the audacity to bang on about families at Christmas, she really must have a heart of absolute stone.
