The royal family

As ever and PR disasters continued

So Meghan lost her fathers number but is ringing round hospitals and will send a handwritten note, as per Sussex sources speaking through the Sun, the Telegraph and the Times.

I mean I have no idea, how it works with PR for very famous people, but surely there are scenarios they prep for?

Her dad is in his 80s, severely obese and has suffered ill health for years. You would think, there would be protocol in what to do should the worst happen.

That would include having up to date contact info. This isn’t something Meg would need to have/get involved with if she’s estranged, but surely ‘The Office of the DDOS’ would. Then engage in their set plan- whether that’s a public statement that this is a private affair or that contact has been made through the proper channels.

Whatever this is, it isn’t professional-it’s complete chaos.

This whole "The Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex" thing feels very American - the sort of thing former Presidents set up to maintain the veneer of importance - like "The Office of Barack & Michelle Obama" the "Office of Donald J Trump" when he was out of office etc. It aims to give the impression of power and position when you don't actually have one.

A-list celebrities don't have them - as you say I've never heard of "The Office of Jennifer Aniston/George Clooney/Tom Cruise.... etc"

The Royal family doesn't do it either - you don't get letters from "The Office of King Charles" but from Buckingham Palace or Kensington Palace if it's the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Every time I hear it - it just sounds pretentious

It sounds desperate as well as trying to be pretentious

And …….James Holt has gone !

They're certainly saving on the wages bill.

AtIusvue · 29/12/2025 17:16

When this writer asked the Sussex PR team on December 14th if Holt had left, they replied that he 'works at and for the foundation.'
The following day, the Sussex lawyers were cc'd into an exchange in which the PR wrote: 'James returned from paternity leave after three months of paid leave and remains employed and actively at work.

However yesterday, after renewed enquiries, they confirmed that he had indeed decided to move on from Archewell.
In a statement shared with the Mail, Holt said that working with the couple had been a 'great privilege' and that he had found a 'kindred spirit' in Meghan.
A spokesperson for the couple said that Holt will remain a 'senior philanthropic advisor' to the couple and Archewell Philanthropies, and will support their 'humanitarian trips overseas in 2026.'
A source added: 'He will be supporting the Duke with a number of engagements over the next 12 months.'

Over on Reddit, they’ve been saying for months that he was going, as he already returned to the UK in the summer

More humanitarian trips overseas ? I wonder where ?

So who is left apart from Liam ?

lickingfingertastingfood · 29/12/2025 17:23

I imagine at this moment they are sitting working on a way of presenting all of this in a flattering way. Remember Jan 2025 the beach shots .. what will Jan 2026 bring? Streamlining, being more environmentally effective ..... 😬

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/12/2025 17:23

I would also think an ambitious PR profressional would want to be involved in promoting the 'charity' or other endeavours, rather than fire fighting about Meghan's personal life or Harry's vanity court cases

So would I, @IcedPurple, but that's not much use when it turns out the charities are mere vehicles for their own interests and they actively want the PR people to focus on them instead

No wonder practically everyone's gone ...

Bit of a wobble in the middle as to whether he had or hadn't left, but doesn't sound like he's fallen out with them (yet)

BigWillyLittleTodger · 29/12/2025 17:25

and will support their 'humanitarian trips overseas in 2026.'

And who is paying for these ego trips now they have bled Archwell dry?

PullTheBricksDown · 29/12/2025 17:25

Mylovelygreendress · 29/12/2025 17:21

So who is left apart from Liam ?

How long can Liam last on his own? I reckon 10th January (following the inevitable palaver on the 9th)

BigWillyLittleTodger · 29/12/2025 17:31

Sources say Meghan, in particular, obsesses over details — down to individual words.
“Nothing was ever final,” one insider said. “Emails would come back at 2 a.m. changing a single adjective — then changing it back the next day.” The constant rewrites, late-night messages, and sudden pivots reportedly left staff exhausted and paralyzed.
THIRD — AND MOST DAMAGING: BLAME ALWAYS FLOWS DOWN.
When projects flop or coverage turns negative, insiders say staff take the fall.
“You’re praised until the moment something goes wrong,” a former aide claimed. “Then you’re quietly pushed out.”

So basically a mirror image of what Palace staff said happened to them, and so many defenders on here were calling Palace staff liars.

Mylovelygreendress · 29/12/2025 17:34

Anyone know when Tom Bower’s new book is due out ?

AtIusvue · 29/12/2025 17:35

I suspect in the fullness of time, we will find out 2025 was the year the Archewell foundation money ran out.

We know that there was discussions for months about how the foundation could move forward but it was too expensive to run and werent brining in the money.

They can’t afford to keep Holt.
The finiancial sponsor provides admin staff, there’s no need for Holt and they certainly wouldn’t pay for him out of their own pocket.

They are making it look like he’s returning to the UK for his family, when in reality, there’s no choice but to let him go. But because he’s done 10 years service….theyre letting him save face and in light of all the recent PR disasters, trying to save theirs too.

How do we know this? Because Holt won’t be replaced.

This is now the 13th staff member gone in 2025, not to be replaced.

This is a severe financial issue they are dealing with.

OP posts:
BillyBites · 29/12/2025 17:46

No wonder H is so desperate for his security issue to be settled (in his favour) and to be back on better terms with his dad (to fleece him for more money).

bluegreygreen · 29/12/2025 17:50

I'm not yet totally sure it's financial and not regulatory

IcedPurple · 29/12/2025 17:54

bluegreygreen · 29/12/2025 17:50

I'm not yet totally sure it's financial and not regulatory

I think it's likely both.

Other than inheritance and investments, it's really hard to see where their money is coming from. Harder still to see where it will come from in the coming years. NF and Spotify are gone, and there's no way 'As Ever' is making serious, if any, money. Obviously they're still going to be well-off no matter what, but they don't have the sort of money to run a Montecito mansion, employ multiple PR staff and run a 'philanthropic' foundation. They're going to have to start cutting their cloth according to their measure, as the saying goes. But that's something Harry at least has zero experience of.

Jaffyyy · 29/12/2025 17:55

Jbum · 29/12/2025 16:05

Well some people were so sure she would leak it...she hasn't though will those people now come.back and admit they were wrong?

Why does anyone want to even see what was wrote not sure what is so interesting in knowing that

And for once since alot of comment here are about her doing everything wrong something has gone right, no leaking of the letter 👏

You are wrong and factually incorrect.

MM did significant briefings to the global media about the how and what of the letter. TM didn’t need to do anything and as I predicted he outsmarted her by keeping silent on the letter because he knew if he said anything it would prove her ‘right’ and he also knew that she would be unable to contain herself and not spin out her ‘narrative’. And he knew his daughter well - he was always one move ahead of her in their emotional game of chess.

Over the two weeks MM gave almost minute by minute minutiae details to the worlds press about emails, letters, trusted envoys etc on issuing the letter to her desperately ill father in intensive care.

Then when he didn’t fall into her devious trap SHE leaked the main thrust of the letter which was that he will never see her again, meet his grandchildren or her husband because he spoken to the media about their relationship - which is exactly what she has done day in day out for the last 9 years via her ‘sources close to’, briefing authors and lying to the High Court that she did this, global interview with OW, a whole NF docuseries of 8 episodes, an autobiography, podcasts, interviews etc year on year - you couldn’t make it up - the hypocrisy preaching to others about compassion, community and family through her ‘Holidays’ WLM episode whilst she flogs the emotional life out of her own father in intensive care having his leg amputated. My own grandmother has this brutal surgery at his age - except she was as fit as a flea and light as a feather. It’s unimaginable to me that anyone would have treated her any less than with the utmost kindness and care that was needed when her life and health came crashing down - never mind the cruelty that has been meted out on the global stage to TM. I have no idea what he is like but it’s evident (from her own repeated words) that he provided her with everything and made so many sacrifices. Maybe his love language is provision, maybe he is a bumbling fool emotionally. But no one deserved what she did to him whilst he is enduring amputation. His weight and health is poor and his prognosis is far from optimum to recover physically and mentally from his amputation and then embark on a very tough physio programme to gain some level of mobility. I have lived this with my own grandmother it is not pretty and he has a very tough road ahead if he even gets that far.

AtIusvue · 29/12/2025 17:56

Ten years service, they could have found him a job somewhere. Especially as so many staff have gone over this year. But he was on a large salary paid for by Archewell. ….they can’t cover 250k.

The finiancial sponsor model that they are now using for Archewell Philanthropies, won’t cover his salary. You have to use their admin staff. That’s the point of the sponsor- they provide the cash and the staff- because running a foundation is very expansive. It’s the easier option. BUT you have to follow their rules and guidance….which we know Harry and Meg are incapable of doing.

Therefore Archewell Philanthropies is just a disaster waiting to happen.

Also interesting that the Meredith story….they kept denying that she had gone but the papers perused and they eventually admitted it.

Same with Holt. Denied at first, then admitted it.

Someone is leaking info. M&H must be very paranoid right now.

Humanitarian lol … they only support and promote themselves, using other peoples money! Ghastly greedy parasitic behaviours is more akin to what they actually do for countries they visit

OtherS · 29/12/2025 18:03

They must have noticed things aren't quite going to plan and I'd love to know what they think has gone wrong. They can't still be trying to blame the RF, surely? Do they acknowledge that they themselves have made any misstep? They seem so completely oblivious. I just can't fathom why they can keep on with the duke / duchess nonsense when they must surely see how ridiculous it makes them look, especially when they keep insisting they really hate all the backwards nobility crap and they just want to be treated like normal people. They'd have been far better off if the titles had been removed, though god knows how they would have styled themselves in that case.

They genuinely seem to live in their own weird little fantasy land, where princess Meghan is somehow simultaneously a self made entrepreneur, an earth mother and a glamourous socialite, while should-be-king Harry travels the world inspiring millions by wanging on about his dead mother and calling it philanthropy. It must be very confusing for them when we annoying peasants refuse to play along.
