So Meghan lost her fathers number but is ringing round hospitals and will send a handwritten note, as per Sussex sources speaking through the Sun, the Telegraph and the Times.

I mean I have no idea, how it works with PR for very famous people, but surely there are scenarios they prep for?

Her dad is in his 80s, severely obese and has suffered ill health for years. You would think, there would be protocol in what to do should the worst happen.

That would include having up to date contact info. This isn’t something Meg would need to have/get involved with if she’s estranged, but surely ‘The Office of the DDOS’ would. Then engage in their set plan- whether that’s a public statement that this is a private affair or that contact has been made through the proper channels.

Whatever this is, it isn’t professional-it’s complete chaos.

Well, the rumours being put out by the Sussex ‘team’ (is there a team anymore?) is that Maines was not a good fit and Meghan was disapppointed in her.

I must say, I thought their PR this year was the worst ever, so it does appear Maines was either out of her depth and/or not allowed do the job she was there to do. On the other hand, it coincided with Meghan’s ‘launch’ as a media person and pushing her SM and business persona, so maybe no publicist could have helped her pull that one off.

Everything collapsed like a lead balloon, the interviews Meghan did only helped to further expose her conceited and unlikeable character. From the founders podcast, the Bloomberg interview, the immature clapback with Gwyneth, topped only by the worst ever interview with the weird friend, the Paris trip where she was again exposed for lying and trying to inflate her own importance, then the Harper’s Bazaar spread, not only an ugly photo shoot, but exposing the very core of her arrogance and superiority.

On SM it was another dive to the bottom with the twerking video, the silly photos and videos of the backsides of her kids, the utterly dreadful low quality content of her ‘food blogging’ side by side with the boring and ridiculed Netflix show.

I think she is now at the point of no return, I don’t think any publicist can do anything to improve Meghan’s image unless she has a personality transplant, the masking, pretending and attempted reinvention has failed, it’s more clear than ever that she is not an engaging. charismatic or authentic ‘face’ for any brand, be it jam, sprinkles, a tv show, makeup, or fashion.

Maines reputation will be saved, possible even enhanced, by the fact there was a very long line of employees before her who suffered at the hands of Meghan and Harry.

Im just waiting for the day when some shit hot LA lawyer convinces a group of their victims of bullying and witnesses to this bullying to launch a class action against them.

This seems to be the plain truth, @Thedom; as PPs have said kudos to them for at least trying to make a living, but it's just not working because they have neither the ability or personality for what they aspire to

And have I imagined it, or wasn't this supposed to be the "year of joy" or some such nonsense?

52inJan · 29/12/2025 09:48

Genuine question, please believe I am not asking passively aggressively. Where do you all get your information from that there can be such strong opinions on these people? I struggle to have any opinion at all, I definitely can't take sides. Just wondering what I'm missing, what should I read / watch to catch up?

It’s so funny when you outline all of their shenanigans in 2025. Especially that it’s not even a year since she launched her Insta then As Ever and WLM - feels like years ago - so much has happened to keep us all chuckling at the pantomime that is this grandiose and delusional couple play out on the world stage for entertainment and ridicule. It would be good to do a 2025 end of year round up on a timeline of all the incidents, the clap backs etc. that kept us all laughing.

That’s a great idea and I nominate you for the job ! (I am on Granny duty most of the day so a tad busy ! )
We can then wait for the inevitable why do you care ? What about Andrew? etc
We can then sit back and wait for the 2026 episode .

And I second @Jaffyyy

One of those musical slideshow photo videos would be excellent 😂

BillyBites · 29/12/2025 10:06

A relative of mine used to work with Liam McGuire. Let’s just say, it couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.

lickingfingertastingfood · 29/12/2025 10:06

It DOES seem a very long year @Jaffyyy! I'm surprised she hasn't touted to Netflix a year in her life 😂

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 29/12/2025 10:08

@52inJan if you read any of these threads you would see the endless links that are posted, read the links, make up your own mind if you are actually interested.

As for strong opinions, outside of this board I don't think about them at all, it is just interesting to chat on here about the things they do.

They choose to put themselves out there for discussion.

Me too.
"Well, the rumours being put out by the Sussex ‘team’ (is there a team anymore?) is that Maines was not a good fit and Meghan was disappointed in her."
I can well imagine Maines was pretty disappointed and dismayed about her employers!

A relative of mine used to work with Liam McGuire. Let’s just say, it couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke.

I had these suspicions - Liam Maguire seems to be one of the very few who has stuck around the Sussexes in the longer term.

He's been involved with Invictus and Harry since 2014 - it’s not clear for how long exactly he’s been working directly for H&M, but he will certainly have had insight into their behaviour in relation to Invictus. The fact that he’s stayed loyal to Harry indicates a tolerance of poor behaviour and a willingness to look the other way to abuse of the charity by the Sussexes.

What may be interesting is that he’s always been Harry’s man primarily. Without Meredith and Method, he’ll now be much more involved with Meghan directly than he was previously. I wonder if that will change anything.

IcedPurple · 29/12/2025 10:51

I come back to a question I've previously asked: Why exactly do they need all this PR?

If you think about people who employ PR officers, they all have a reason to be in the public eye. Whether that's Taylor Swift, random Kardashians or indeed, working royals. They all have clear roles and obvious reasons to want to 'curate' their public image. Their PR is in service of whatever it is they are 'selling', be that music, a skincare brand or the monarchy itself.

But what exactly have Harry and Meghan done this year? She has appeared in a lifestyle show which was filmed the previous year, and set up a minor online business. Harry has had a few random public events, some ostensibly charitable, others paid appearances. None of this implies any need for a PR 'team'. Do we really think everyone who has ever had a NF show has their own PR person?

Harry and Meghan clearly just want to be liked and looked up to, for its own sake. They are obsessed with what strangers think of them and feel compelled to 'clap back' at every silly little thing. Harry freely admitted to this in Spare. No wonder their PR staff keep leaving, because their job is an impossible one. You can't make people like you and the more you try, the more you fail.

Well, she shouldn't have been. She's far from the first PR person to (attempt to) work for them, so she should have known what to expect. That's why I don't feel sorry for anyone who agrees to work for the Sussexes at this stage in the game.

There has been much written about how charming Meghan can be when she wants something.
I've met people like her, make you feel like you are the most amazing person, and that only you are good enough. I think it would be easy to be dupe into believing that the people that left previously did so because they were poor and that with all Mainea experience she could excell at what looked on paper as a good role.

Yes.

I remember what was said from the BP bullying allegations- that it was like a warm light shining on you when she gives you attention, but if she perceives anything to go wrong, you’re ignored and cut out.

@IcedPurple they don’t need them, and even if they did, why do we even know about any of their staff? I have no idea what staff Jennifer Anniston employs, she doesn’t announce statements from “The Office of Jennifer Anniston” neither does any other celebrity, the nonsense grandiose job titles of their staff are purely to stroke their own egos which are driven by intense jealousy of William and Catherine, they both thought they could swan off to California and set up their own royal court and be the King and Queen of the glitterati and the world! In their conceited heads all the A listers would be bowing and scraping to them and the billions would pour in through their sheer wonderfullness and William and Catherine would diminished to nothing on this salty little racist island, it’s worked out well for them 😂.

You’re absolutely right, for what they’re actually doing they don’t need this level of PR support.

But they’re staffing themselves for the level of status and importance they want. Meghan wants her business to be a global empire, she wants her TV show to be a smash hit. Harry wants to be seen as a leading philanthropist on the world stage. They both want to be seen as the most important and influential royals going.

Unfortunately for them, just wanting these things isn’t enough, and they’re learning the hard way that fame does not always equal popularity or importance, nor can you force people to admire or like you. What they haven’t learned yet, and the reason all their publicists keep falling by the wayside, is that the reason they keep failing and are getting ever more unpopular is not because the comms team aren’t telling the story in the right way, it’s because they themselves are unlikeable unpleasant people and the more PR they do the more they’re exposing themselves for who they really are.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 29/12/2025 11:41

It also wouldn’t surprise me that the staff literally had nothing to do and were sat twiddling their thumbs bored out of their brains, working for people with no talent or anything of value to offer must be like trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

I can only speak for myself. I base what I write on what Harry and Meghan have said or written. I tend to ignore rumours on twitter or the stirrings of the tabloid press.

I am strongly of the opinion that writing a book and giving multiple interviews which breach the privacy of your family, particularly when you know that family are not going to defend themselves from your accusations, is egregious behaviour. Particularly when you yourself have written that you consider your feelings about things, whether they are accurate or not, to be a valid as the facts of the events.

Other than that I don't have strong opinions and try to be even handed in discussions here. I rarely discuss the royals IRL.

Taking it one step further, I think H&M hire all these
people to ‘make them’ into something, but those people taking on these roles likely think there’s ‘hope’ however once the start working there they realise they have literally nothing, any glimmers of hope don’t get listened to, they’re toxic bullies and get fed up and get out
