I've just read Thomas Markle is in hospital intensive care. He has been treated poorly by Meghan. I doubt if the pair will have anything to say about this. Though they've always plenty to say about a lot of things. Doubt they'll be rushing to his bedside.

Is this the same man who has sold countless stories about his daughter to the tabloids? And sold the letter she sent him, again to the tabloids?

Why would anyone want a relationship with a ‘father’ like that?

What’s happened here is that you’ve read the Daily Mail and believed what they’ve told you.

He hasn’t been treated poorly by anyone except the gutter press.

No one knows what actually happened between them, except them.

Obviously the first thing you do when your father is gravely ill in intensive care is run to the DM to do an interview!

Jam making aside, I’d say the Sussex's’ have been pretty private on family issues of late. Pretty classy.

Can’t see that changing for an estranged parent. I wish him well and I wish continuing peace towards Harry and Meghan.

Hes still her Dad though, and seeing pictures from the past they were obviously close.

Lots of people on MN have no or low contact with their parents. I am not a fan of Meghan but let’s not go all flying monkey.

He was rushed to hospital on Tuesday.

And she releases her Christmas show on Wednesday, extolling the virtues of “family”.

I guess no publicity is bad publicity is it if you’re MM. The only reason she ditched him was because she was embarrassed by him, he doesn’t live up to her new found fame.

She’s been found a million times to be running to the press, briefing behind people’s backs and setting up pap shots. He did nothing that she hasn’t done in spades. She’s an utter hypocrite.

I feel sorry for all of them. Having lost parents myself I can’t imagine how much regret there is all around.

Hardly classy. So thick skinned she is doing a podcast on family next week. Estranged from her own family and never a good word to say about Harry's family. Still thats Meghan for you.

I wouldn’t have anything to do with him if I was Meghan. I wouldn’t have anything to do with Meghan (or Harry) if I was the RF.

IMO the apple didn’t fall far from the tree where Markle senior and junior are concerned.

Classier than picking over the details of a seriously ill man and his family.

And yet she was clearly close to him whilst growing up . Gushing posts on Tig . Then nothing, apparently because he sold some stories to the press yet Meghan sells to the highest bidder!

He spoke to the Press and told private family details. Though he hasn't spoken to the Press in years now.

As did Meghan. And she's done it very recently.

He didn't actually give his letter to the DM until after 5 of Meghan's friends spoke about it publicly in the US press and misrepresented what was in it (obviously with her blessing).

Both have behaved badly. Neither have covered themselves in glory tbh.

I hope they manage some sort of reconciliation before he dies. They were obviously close before, though obviously family relationships are complicated, having lost my Dad 2 years ago, I just find it hard to think of never reconciling in some way with a parent before they die.

None of us has any idea whether M has been in contact with her father either as a one off or as a regular Sunday chat every week. It's not true that if stuff isn't reported in the DM then it hasn't happened (lot of negatives there but I know what I mean).
