She's a beautiful woman but i can't understand why she just doesn't drop the titles and be herself. And it's odd how she talks about how much 'H' loves her but not how much she loves him.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, Meets Her Moment

After years of being subsumed by other people’s narratives, she's ready to author her own next chapter

I wouldn't personally describe her as a beautiful woman, she can take a good picture from some angles but I think she's pretty average.
I wouldn't either. She's very pretty, bit there doesn't seem to be any beauty coming from within. She doesn't have a great figure either - she's toned, fit-looking and slender.
I wouldn't judge someone on looks normally, but she's someone who has made it because of her looks.

You have no idea what she doesn’t talk about, you only know what the interviewer has chosen to include.

Very true.

However I am left wondering if she or someone who worked for her managed to piss off the photgrapher, interviewer or someone high up in the magazine.

ClawsandEffect · 20/11/2025 09:58

I assume her not dropping the title is a bit of a FU to the royal family. I'm sure they hate her using it.

I’m as republican as they come and think it’s because they know they wouldn’t make as much money otherwise. What does Harry have to market himself with besides his titles?

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/11/2025 12:46

FenellaFeldman · 20/11/2025 12:44

...but, what on earth would they be without the titles?

Dealing with less comparison and less attention. Of course I'm assuming that a quieter life where everything she does isn't in The Mail is something she wants.

Well, evidence suggests otherwise. I think headlines in the DM - or anywhere really - are exactly what they want.

Leo800 · 20/11/2025 12:48

The interviewer can see right through her. I wonder if Meghan is happy with the article.

IcedPurple · 20/11/2025 12:48

OtherS · 20/11/2025 12:45

I assume she must be making something though - certainly a lot by my standards, though maybe not as much as she would like! But if people are clicking on her, she gets paid for that in fees, ads etc - plus she's asked to do more interviews, pictures etc. If she just behaved like a normal person nobody would be interested in her at all, and nobody would click, nobody would want her for interviews or photos and she'd make even less money. She's tried many, many things since going to America and has shown herself to be entirely devoid of talent. All she has is making a tit of herself. And she has to keep upping the ante to keep people clicking.

I don't think people get paid to be interviewed by a magazine do they? It's basically a vehicle to advertise the clothes in the photos, which begs the question as to why the photos are so terrible. Even if she does get a fee, it's not a regular income.

Yes, Meghan does get people 'clicking'. But her problem is that that does not translate into commercial success for her. NF have dropped her and her husband, or at best downgraded their contract. Spotify dumped them. She stopped posting on her 'Shop My' page. I doubt 'As Ever' is bringing in big, if any, money either. The only people profitting from 'clicking' on Meghan seem to be the very tabloids and social media sites she despies.

You can't seriously be assuming she wants a quiet life without media attention?

They could have that in a heart beat. But the constant leaking and pr pieces, inc this interview, would show she really doesn’t want that.

I agree, i just can't help thinking about an alternative reality where they left with a plan and slowly built something that would last. Part of the reason As Ever looks a bit muddly is because new businesses are, they just don't usually grow in the the spotlight where every mistake is magnified. Meghan is always rushing and claiming amazing success without waiting for concrete results, that's not a great way to sell yourself as a female founder and it's worse when everyone is looking at you.

IcedPurple · 20/11/2025 12:50

No. I'm positing an alternative reality which I think would be more successful for her long term. I can't really see someone who gets announced to an empty house agreeing with me that the title is dragging her down.

PinkPanther57 · 20/11/2025 12:55

ThatAvidViewer · 20/11/2025 10:51

“We’re in a grand brownstone on the Upper East Side that belongs to one of Meghan’s friends. When I enter, the house manager announces, “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex,” even though we appear to be the only other two people in the house.” 😅Unbelievable. What an ego.

Edited

If she had any true & real friends who loved her they’d rip the piss with these sort of antics.

Those with traits like hers & the beauty to back it up do seem to attract men who worship them. Trevor the ex apparently said there was no doubt in his mind she’d ‘close’ with H.

And Megan, she’s nothing behind her other than suits, and so far post leaving that program, she’s not had anything successful. The whole cookery lifestyle thing is obvs not gaining traction, and so we are seeing all these pr pieces, and making big deals of little things, like going to a fashion show. So she can get media attention,

I do think thry were intent on in part coming back to the uk, from all the leaks when Harry Met with Charles, about how they would appear together, even William would, how the kids would go to school here, how Harry would come over with Megan, blah blah, which all then immediately stopped as soon as the palace said half in half out isn’t going to happen.

so they know it isn’t working, and were desperate enough to go for half in half out again to try to boost them up.

"As Ever" looks 'muddly' because it is. There is no coherent brand image or even product line. It's unsure if it wants to be Goopesque quiet luxury or affordable mid market. Even the (silly) name came about because her first choice of brand name was unavailable. It's a mess.

And 'celebrity brands' like this are very much in the spotlight. That's why they hire professionals to make sure everything is worked out prior to launch. They don't 'launch' a brand with no products and then change name a year later. They have a coherent image and strategy. At least the succesful ones do.

As for the 'long term', what really does she have to offer?

SirChenjins · 20/11/2025 12:57

I wish H would boldly tell her to stfu and stop making a tit of herself.

Catpiece · 20/11/2025 12:58

FenellaFeldman · 20/11/2025 12:40

I think it's very odd to emphasise how much her husband loves her. Wouldn't we just take that to be a given? She could say they're a happy family and it's all going well, but how much he loves her?

My point exactly. It’s overegging to the point it becomes unbelievable. Happy couples don’t keep going on about how much one loves the other. They don’t keep shoehorning the partner into every conversation. It’s not normal. The more they do it the less I’m inclined to believe it. (I know someone who does this. She’s not happy with the husband and has never been)

When Meghan became engaged to Prince Harry in 2017, it triggered a tectonic shift in the culture.

What? Really?

I must have missed this cultural earthquake in 2017. Just me?

I thought it was inflation…

She had her lifestyle thing alongside suits that was going well, but I’m guessing that is shot to bits now with all this royal dramatics.

No iced apparently I slept through it and only woke up when toys were being thrown from a pram! 🤷‍♀️

EsmaCannonball · 20/11/2025 13:02

It does seem like another sly hit piece from a journalist who can't quite stomach the self-regard and grandiosity. There are at least two instances in the article where someone has to announce Meghan as the Duchess of Sussex. It reminds me of that bit in her lifestyle show where she's all 'It's Sussex now! (And don't you dare forget it, bitch!)' She wants to be seen as a self-made girl boss, an inspiring philanthropist, a barefoot, laid-back free-spirit while simultaneously insisting on the red carpet treatment that has clearly been her life's true ambition, and that is why she never really manages to pull off any of her projects.

Catpiece · 20/11/2025 13:02

The trouble with her is, she’s constantly striving to be something she can’t be. What she wants isn’t innate within her. All the royal titles in the world won’t give her what she craves. Deeply unhappy woman. As for H. He’s in it up to his neck isn’t he. It’s an embarrassing shambles but no one wants to lose face

She rushed it, like she rushes everything and it looks worse because everything is in the glare of publicity and talked up by her as if she invented jam.

At this point i have no idea what she can build long term because she doesn't have long term thinking.

She has star power & is able to manipulate men especially. Didn’t H describe her beauty as heart stopping? I think she’s one of those who lights up a room.

Her authenticity… Again.
