Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

In the article, it says that it is mentioned only once in the 30 plus page document to check with your insurance provider to see if you are covered and Invictus won't cover anything. "CBS News has spoken to other veterans on the 2023 team ...They said they never got a briefing on the insurance they needed and assumed regular travel insurance would suffice."

Doesn't sound like much is being done for future games as per the info in the rest of the article. Invictus says the countries of the participants are responsible.

I agree puzzled , not particularly fond of him myself but according to some he’s well respected and to be believed at all costs!
I can’t imagine that anything unsavoury he uncovers would be waved aside by those currently tooting his horn and quoting everything as gospel.
( I would not hold your breath about the other royals, he apparently only investigates those he dislikes or has a personal beef with!)

I fully get that the athletes have a responsibility to make sure they're covered, and knowing what it's like to get insurance that involves North American I'd be asking very careful questions before signing up at all, but it hardly helps if Invictus are taking such a relaxed, "It's your problem" approach

Supposedly the entire ethos concerns care for the veterans, and while I know that's a much bigger thing in the US than the UK this doesn't soiund much like "care" to me
