Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

Meghan was cheering for LA. Harry was supporting the Blue Jays. Meg even said in her post, “Sorry your team lost H, but mine won.”

Yes @BemusedAmerican, I've wondered for a while why he hasn't linked in with any of the US veteran charities. That would seem to make sense, and would probably make him better respected.

No insurance for Invictus Whistler participants so one vet who got injured is swamped with medical bills.

That is really unpleasant.

No mention of Harry by True Patriot Love. No mention of Harry being a sponsor. No mention of Harry on their Invictus page either. Looks like they do very well on their own .

They were both filmed, wearing LA Dodgers caps and cheering for LA Dodgers, at a game where the Dodgers were playing the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays won that game.

The Instagram post came later, after a different game and after some media criticism. The Dodgers had then won the World Series.

I'm not saying he shouldn't do that. My point is that the main benefit any royal or celeb provides to a charity is through raising awareness of it. That doesn't really happen if it's all done in secret.

The true patriot love foundation is led by the former ceo of the royal foundation.

Virtually all the coverage at the last 2 ( maybe 3) Invictus Games has focussed on Meghan’s clothes and the multiple changes .
We know a few Veterans and they are really disillusioned by the whole Harry and Meghan show and are not participating again .

Because their PR are nothing more than trolls now, trolling for column inches, why else would they send a brief to all the media outlets announcing his trip on the day William arrives in Brazil, why announce his trip at all? Piggy backing on the RF again.

On another note, the Earthshot promotions are mighty slick, really impressive, and William always looks gorgeous in a pale blue shirt, 🔥no need for his wife to have to convince an audience that her husband is the hotter one of the two princes.

I realize that I am about to raise some heretical views but Harry has been in the US for 5 plus years. He expects us to provide security. He gets awards. He wants us to watch his shows and buy his wife's products. He recently was talking about becoming a US citizen. He has the governor of CA defending Archewell 's apparent inability to file its paperwork on time.

Yet he gives back very little. LA is not a bastion of exclusiveness ( unlike Montecito). Ordinary people are standing up to ICE and donating time and money. Due to the SNAP cuts many people, including veterans, are facing food insecurity. If he really wanted to give back, he could donate food and time to a food pantry. Maybe he won't get huge PR but he might get a sense of accomplishment.

Everything he does in transactional. I'm not a saint by any means but even I read something and think "I don't really need to buy X. I'll donate that money instead to that worthy cause." With Harry, it all seems to be "well, I need to bring in a camera".

Dear god, @BemusedAmerican, I was aware of some of the costs the vets were expected to cover but didn't know about that!!

Surely some sort of policy participants can join is the sort of thing Invictus should be arranging? Come to that who are the people running this thing now?
It's true several high profilers have gone, but now I'm wondering if there's anyone left who isn't a "mate" and who prioritises the cause above Harry

and I believe that you as an American have every right to criticise a foreign prince imposing himself and his views on your country, and especially after 5 years draining the coffers while the actual citizens are in need.
