Why does Harry need to announce his visit to Canada ?

Harry has announced he will visit Canada for Invictus events .
The announcement is made while the POW is in Brazil undertaking important official business including representing KC at COP.
His spokesperson says the announcement had to be made at short notice for security reasons !
If this non working royal has security concerns , why announce it at all ?

My FYP has been full of slo-mo edits of him! He's always been fit (& he played water polo so beach volleyball was always going to be a breeze). He is aging very well.

Hmm I only think this is an outside possibility if Charles lives for many more years, if he doesn’t then there will be no way back for Harry, there would be no benefit personally or professionally for William and his family, in fact the complete opposite, once William is King it’s all over for Harry.

I must admit to looking at the slo mo videos myself a couple of times! He was such a handsome young man and then in his thirties he wasn’t looking so good in his boring fleeces but now in his forties and with that beard he’s looking really good and he is dressing so much better.

The problem with her scenario was that it assumed Harry would keep quiet about the negotiations and baby steps back into relationship. Instead he had one tea with the King and blabbed all over the place. I can see why someone in PR could imagine a way back but neither Harry nor Meghan seem able to get out of their own way.

I how she is still around though as i thought her posts were interesting.

I have just watched coverage of the Earthshot prize ceremony. I would say it’s been a good week for W.

The OP has asked a very straightforward question, why the need for H to advertise his movements, given his concerns about security?

As long as he does things that might reflect back in the RF by association, people will post about that. It doesn’t mean they care one whit about H as a person.

Once the inevitable happens and their titles are removed so they are just another pair of Mountbatten-Windsors, I doubt you will see many threads about them.

Yes, despite the efforts of Meghan and Harry. It’s all a bit desperate and pathetic really. I almost feel sorry for them, it must be such an uncomfortable existence being unable to accept that you have much less to offer than you thought. Making these little announcements to try and upstage the work of Earthshot and COP, it’s so petty and childish. Meanwhile William just carries on doing his thing and becomes more powerful 😬

It doesn’t just upstage William. It upstages the prize winners who are trying to innovate for the good of the environment. It shows you they don’t think about anything other than their own images and egos and nasty, petty envies. The little people are only walk on actors in the dramas they constantly create for no good reason. It’s demonstrative of how they were totally unsuited to a royal life, where the royal is there to shine a light on the org/charity/public, not the other way round.

I suspect it would be after Megain was off the scene, I think the RF and particularly the seniors are never going to let her anywhere near them again, for good reasons

I agree that something has gone wrong.

The PR advisors meeting which seemed to agree on sharing of calendars to coordinate announcements doesn't seem to have happened.

PH sharing details of his subsequent meeting with KC3 immediately to the global press was probably the next nail in the coffin where he broke any agreements on discretion. He failed the first test.

I would imagine 2025 is still very raw for BRF with his BBC interview post the security court case and him kicking off further by writing to MPs. Again he’s still banging the security drum.

He is demonstrating that he has a low level of acceptance and diplomacy so is a constant loose cannon - possibly more reactive than MM.

Maybe the BRF want him to stay married to MM as can you imagine his emotional turmoil if that relationship imploded - he doesn’t have any friends or family to absorb his rants. He would be totally unstable, unpredictable, volatile etc if his marriage ended and I doubt anyone wants or needs him in this state.

I saw a few snippets of William being interviewed by Christiane Amanpiur, who is an amaking interviewer, William came across really well. I need to find the full interview.

I think William has had a really good week . Some fantastic photos where he is smiling and relaxed but serious when he has to be .

Harry had to announce his visit to Canada for three reasons.
1 .. to attempt to remove the focus from William.
2…to show he’s still royal and important.
3…if he doesn’t announce his visit nobody would know it was happening, and obviously if a humanitarian isn’t seen are they actually a humanitarian?!

A question. Or two.

Do all charities announce the participation of celebrities in advance?
Does every announcement of celebrity attendance get widespread media coverage?

If the answers are yes and no, then i don't think this is on Harry but rather the media.

Having said that, i notice he is trying to leverage security in yet another way.

I agree he’s had a really good week. What struck me was his ease around the kids and the way he hugged and engaged with them. This is the stuff everyone said Harry did so well, it was his special skill. Now William’s in that territory and aceing it.

I haven’t seen any coverage of H’s actual visit in the MSM but I have seen a lot about W. H was always going to be of decreasing importance and interest to the media as the years went on. Flouncing off accelerated that process rather than making him the global leader he thought he would become.
