I don’t think Meghan would agree that the Sussex title is irrelevant given that she uses it at every opportunity!

Yet it means even less in the US?

With or without a title, they are still who they are due to birth or marriage. I think the titles are of limited value.

She’s broke, an idiot and she was stuck - the RF left her penniless with two princesses to bring up and she was easy prey for life’s undesirables.

I agree on the broke and idiot bit. But not on the rest. I can't remember where I read it, it might have been the Lownie book but it is absolutely untrue she was left a pittance by the Royal family when she divorced. It's a myth. A convenient one for sure. She was left very comfortably off.

However she spent all her money like water. Her extravagance knew no bounds

She was after every freebie she could get from day 1. No sympathy from me. And sponging of anyone she could even folk like Epstein.

Whats the purpose of it, what does it achieve or mean?

Well he is publicly dishonored and cast aside from royalty.
that is kind of a biggy for them.

let’s see what the law will add to it…

Yes and I agree those words were at best misjudge, ill advised and crass, however we aren't fully aware of PA's communications with others. That does not my view warrant the vilification in the press and the vitriolic comments the have surfaced in the last 24 hours. Society has to be above that.

Nobody can this naive surely?

There is clear evidence of his wrongdoing. What more do you want? And I am staunchly team “innocent until proven guilty” but this is undeniable!

Just because Andrew has done much worse doesn’t exonerate Harry!

Whats Harry done? Moan about his own family?

YourBrickTiger · 18/10/2025 18:11

As he should but it’s complete and total
hypocrisy considering the king was hosting Epsteins best buddy for a banquet last month. Andrew should lose his title as should Sarah but they being used to make examples of.

Harry is not a sex offender or linked to one so leave him out if it.

The King hosted Trump at the request of the Government.
That’s his job.

Andrew Lownie claiming that the decision was pushed by William and the government

“He claimed he had made the decision to fall on his sword himself when in fact it was pressure from Prince William and the government, with the threat of an investigation into his behaviour. I also believe a deal was done that would allow his daughters to remain within the royal fold in return for him exiling himself.”

I am astonished that the lease doesn't include a clause about early termination in the event of behaviour that brings the Crown into disrepute, and another about failure to maintain house and grounds to the standard to which they were maintained at the inception of the lease. But it seems there are not.

Yes there definitely is re maintenance he is required under the lease to maintain the property to a certain standard “repair, renew, uphold, clean and keep in repair and, where necessary, rebuild” and exterior and interior regular painting

He royals didn't choose to invite Trump for a state visit. They were asked by the government to do so - ie told to do so by the people in charge of such things.

They don't get to pick and choose who gets invited for state visits

It's good that there is a maintenance and upkeep clause. What is a puzzle is that the property and grounds are said to be in a poor and deteriorating state but Andrew is still there.

Somewhat ironically the decision for Andrew and Edward (and presumably others) to be treated as regular tenants with the Crown Estate properties, rather than the Queen/King privately leasing them and giving them grace-in-favour places, has given Andrew legal rights that cannot be removed easily.

MarkEastern · 18/10/2025 18:24

At least Andrew was a war hero. Could he get a Falklands title instead?

There's always gullible people and people who look for an easy way in life.

But also the high profile people who hung out with him, Bill Clinton, Gates, Woody Allen, Derschowitz, Al Gore, Mandleson, Andrew, Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking and plenty more, all totally enthralled with him. There is a photo of Naomi Campells 30th birthday party and Virginia guiffre is in the picture, in a little pink tee shirt, she couldn’t have looked more out of place, she was a child amongst all those celebs, did no one think to question it.

Thank you for that link. That is an interesting article. I suppose Andrew will cling on to royal life through his daughters.

This is shocking...
Twenty years ago MPs were calling for Andew to be investigated by the National Crime Agency over his time as special trade representative between 2001 and 2011. That went nowhere but I believe that case still exists, under the common law offence of misconduct in public office.

And this..
No questions about the royals can be asked in the House of Commons or the House of Lords. The Freedom of Information Act does not apply directly to the royal family or the royal household because they are not considered public authorities.

If they are not public authorities, what exactly are they?

I have always said that because they cannot be questioned anywhere ever, that is why the bad apples continue to push the boundaries.

I just feel sorry for those within the Monarchy who are actually doing what they are supposed to... like Edward, like Anne, like Sophie... but there is little media interest in what they do. I would be really pissed off if I were them.

It's like a house of cards...

Im keen on her, she should have more of a role but then she also has had her moments, didnt she have a few speeding incidents and her dog attacked someone?

Not in the same league of course.

She wrote an email to paedo Epstein saying he’d always be a dear friend, essentially kissing his arse AFTER his abuse and trafficking of underage girls came to light. She’s as disgusting as her paedo ex-husband.

jumpingthehighjump · 18/10/2025 18:27

And this....

Ironically, the very measures that were designed to protect the royal family from scrutiny are the ones that permit scandals to flourish and suspicions to rise.

Catandmousemam · 18/10/2025 18:28

Jesus's wept, we hear enough about it on the TV & published in the newspapers. All the BBC kept doing was going on and on about it this morning. Last night they went on about it also. Then you!!!!!!!!! Don't you have a life to not have more inportant things to fill your life with!!!!!!!
🙄😡😡😡😡😡

By bailing Andrew out, the late Queen is as bad imo.

Nonsense! The payoff was pragmatic. Anyone with the funds would do the same!

Yeah, let's push it all under the carpet and let public servants do what they want. Who cares?

The title Nonce is more appropriate
