We don't know the full story, all we see is what is reported in the press, Some of the contents of the emails show poor judgment. The fact still remains that PA has not been charged or convicted of anything, yes he has shown poor judgement in his choice of friends , is that really a reason to vilify. We do not know the full story, some of the reporting is inaccurate, underage in this country is 16 not 18 and that is continually misreported. I have no feelings regarding PA, I do not know him, but if this was an "ordinary" member of the public or my relative or friend I would feel that the treatment in press was excessive and the vilification uncalled for. I would be worried about the impact on their mental health of such relentless attention.

Penniless? Really? I seem to recall that she got hundreds of thousands in the divorce, plus half a million from the Queen to buy a new house, plus hundreds of thousands more in ongoing child maintenance. That she blew it all doesn't mean that she was left penniless, more that she made herself poor through bad decisions.

He ‘steals’ nothing from the taxpayer.
No money from HMRC goes to the Royal family.
The only thing that taxpayers pay for is the security for the King& Queen and the Wales family , plus security for Princess Anne and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh when they are on official duties.
Any staff the Edinburgh’s have are funded by the Sovereign Grant, which in turn is funded by the Crown estates - so again NOT taxpayers money.

Not to the US. We are stuck with Harry. At least there was no NYPD procession in the NYC last visit. The new NYPD head is doing a great job.

If this was William's doing, then finally someone in the RF besides Princess Anne has guts and good judgement.

How is William “an angry little man”?! (He’s actually not “little” either for that matter! Andrew is a problem and he (presumably) supported his father in dealing with it!

I don’t think he’s been the least bit vengeful in the light of scandalous and damaging allegations - and there’s some proof! - against his uncle!

The royal family is all about the preservation of the institution of royalty and hanging on to the wealth and privilege that they enjoy. They change and adapt as society changes not because they want to but because they want to hang on to the money and the palaces. They are aware that next week Virginia Giufree's posthumous memoir is being published and it is more than likely it will contain more damming allegations about Andrew . Charles is off to see the Pope next week and I it is more than probable today's actions have been influenced by this. He would not want to have the shadow of Andrew's behavior being cast over a visit that will attract international interest. If the Epstein files ever see the light of day there may be more damaging revaltions about Andrew but at least the royal family have now been seen to have dealt with him in some way. So they hang on in there and a crisis is averted, not a real crisis in that they will be turfed out of Buck House but they will be hoping to sway public opinion back in their favour

I don’t think it’s that much of a reach to comprehend how an ancient institution might wish preserve that institution? That’s literally how the heirs are raised?
