Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

In reality her brand, and usp, is her, not the products or marketing.
And that's her problem. She is not aspirational. She is widely disliked and has a very negative image. She is seen as an object of ridicule.
So why would people want to buy products asscoiated with her?

Even if the products were great, unique, high quality, and interesting she'd still have a hill to climb to get people to buy stuff which has her name on it/ is asscoiated with her. No one aspires to be associated with MM.

Well, maybe there are still a few middle class white liberal women who think her stand against racism was brave activism eating her jam shows how anti racist they are, but that is a very small ever diminishing group to sell to.

ConverseAddict · 30/10/2025 13:43

The whole brand was built on negativity, slagging off the RF and complaining.
If they had kept a good relationship and just stepped back as working royals they could have done a good food brand.
And they aren’t inspirational, they seem to be constantly grubbing around for money, paying for awards. There’s no ‘success’.

Highgrove jam is delicious

Was just coming on to say the same!

For all the newspaper snobs out there, even The Times has reported on the couple being booed at the game, along with commenting on their tenth publicist in five years quitting (speculating on whether they’ve joined the “Sussex Survivors Club”), the hypocrisy of sharing their children’s faces online, and the fact that Meghan has been voted the most disliked celebrity on LA based polling site Ranker (with 38,000 negative votes out of 48,000), with Harry coming in third.

It’s an interesting read.

“It seems that whatever love affair America once had with the couple is well and truly over”.

Edit: Sorry for quoting you @BigWillyLittleTodger i must have caught a button 😊

The Times

Edited

No worries! 🤗

StrawberryWasp · 30/10/2025 13:56

Has anyone seen Harry's interview on that podcast yesterday?
He's asked 'what do your children think you do?'

Harry ums and ahs and says, 'err good question...they know I help people'.

It's a devastating moment which reveals the emptiness and his failure to have a purpose in life, and that his children know it. Or are coming to realise it.

We could all claim 'I help people' whether we help people pay for their shopipng on Tescos till, or we help people get car insurance. Becaue most of us have actual jobs or roles that a have purpose we can decsribe.

Harry actually reminds me of Ken from the Barbie movie who's job was 'Beach.' But Harry's job is 'Helping.'

I don't think anyone realistically thinks Meghan burns 'as ever' candles in her home - she will be all over Cire Trudon ;)

I think this is the issue with so many celeb brands - no one believes they are what the celebs themselves use with the exception of brands like The Row.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 30/10/2025 14:41

I drove quite a long way today, so had plenty of time for idle thought. Once I'd dispensed with my plans for world peace, my thoughts on Christmas presents for particular family members and what to add to the online supermarket shop, I thought briefly about H &M and this Instagram caper. I'm not particularly exercised by the flogging of UPF crap (and I agree with PPs that Highgrove jam is delicious) but the grinding self-promotion is just toe-curling. Why does Meghan think we want to see her (in a creased shirt, yet again) eating a hotdog, (which immediately reminded me if the 'cool girl' rant from Gone Girl) while Harry bellows into the camera, showing us all his Cockney teeth (circa 1923), apparently inherited directly from the Queen Mother. The 'date night' thing is nauseating. I'm assuming they were being paid to promote whatever team it was who gave them the seats worth thousands of dollars, and that's why this tedious crap is being churned out for public consumption.

I really don't understand why they don't downsize and live happily and quietly on their millions, instead of gurning their way through all this inauthentic dross.

elessar · 30/10/2025 14:50

I have to say the description of the wedding candle on her website is hilarious, given her dismissive comments about the day as “this thing” “the spectacle for the world”

but now it’s being reimagined as “the feeling of warm sunshine and blue skies, surrounded by love and laughter; this signature candle is inspired by the ease and joy of a day that holds Meghan’s most cherished memories—her wedding day”

Also in what world are Moroccan mint, cardamom and white tea scents that have any relation to a spring day in England? There’s just no connection whatsoever.

That's what I was wondering! I do grow mint in the garden, but that's as far as I got ...

Good on William and Catherine, they have a clear line in the sand between their private life and their public life.

JADS · 30/10/2025 15:21

Is it me or is Harry's outfit a bit odd for a sports event? The blazer and t shirt look is a bit mismatched and the brand new hat makes him look ridiculous.

He really is deeply unattractive

ThePoshUns · 30/10/2025 15:50

Harry pontificating on not putting children on line in a recent podcast. Like the poster says , is he aware that Meghan has an insta account?!

I suspect, like a lot of posters here, he blindly accepts the idea that slapping a heart emoji over the kids' faces magically erases all of the dangers of social media.

StrawberryWasp · 30/10/2025 16:30

Why have a 'date night' where you video each other eating a hot dog and giggling and then post it to insta? It's obvioulsy not about spening time together, it's abut getting content.

I want date night (known here as going out tonight with Mr Wasp) to be a quiet dinner or drink where we can really find time to talk and catch up with each other.

If I said "now video me eating these scampi fries while I giggle' Mr Wasp would think I'd lost my mind.

HeddaGarbled · 30/10/2025 16:35

I may only have seen a snippet rather than the full video, but is she not pretending to eat the hot dog?

Because not everyone is the same and what you want for a date night isn't what someone else would want 💁‍♀️ why does date night have to be dinner and drinks and chatting why can't it be going and doing something fun together
