Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

Harry is now on a podcast. They are really clamouring for attention aren’t they! Embarrassing

Interesting point.

What Meghan said (completely volunteered information) to Oprah:

“Just getting back down to basics. I was thinking about it — even at our wedding, you know, three days before our wedding, we got married . . . No one knows that. But we called the Archbishop, and we just said, ‘Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us’. So, like, the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury … Just the three of us”.

What Meghan now says about As Ever’s scented candle:

”Our signature scent. Modern and elegant. Love at first light. No. 519 is the feeling of warm sunshine and blue skies, surrounded by love and laughter; this signature candle is inspired by the ease and joy of a day that holds Meghan’s most cherished memories—her wedding day, May 19th. Bright and refreshing, with quietly grounding notes of Moroccan mint leaf, white tea leaves, and a back note of woodsy cardamom, No. 519 fills the room with a soothing, welcoming fragrance that remains our founder’s tried and true favorite. Housed in a beautiful ceramic vessel, this candle is hand-poured in California. A refreshing scent to rise with, like a cup of mint tea, and to relax with, like the warm company of the ones you love, No. 519 evokes the freshness of a day in the English countryside, a long walk in the garden, and a spirit of happiness that is hard to resist”.

The 19th of May 2018 (or 5/19/18 in US date style) was the day on which Meghan and Harry were married at St George’s Chapel in front of an estimated global audience of 1.9bn, by the way.

(I wonder how those posters who argued up hill and down dale that Meghan clearly personally believed the ceremony three days before with the Archbishop of Canterbury was 100% her and Harry’s actual wedding due to her cultural customs, and that it was racist to even suggest she didn’t believe this, think now that Meghan has comprehensively admitted that her wedding was the one at St George’s chapel…)

Whats rhe problem she didnt say 3 days before wasn't her wedding she said married days before cos they did their vows and then there was the wedding day

Whats so difficult about that? Her have a private union and said their vows wasn't her wedding day 💁‍♀️

Serenster · 29/10/2025 16:05

Tell me, when did Meghan get married?

Mylovelygreendress · 29/10/2025 16:05

Oh @Spectre8 you really do tie yourself in knots defending the indefensible!

He has no plans to become an American citizen . Presumably he would lose his titles if he did ?

I was thinking you’d have to be a British citizen to be in the LoS?

No - the Norwegian royal family are in the LoS!

But I do think if you become a naturalised American citizen you have to give up any existing titles, yes.

AtIusvue · 29/10/2025 16:13

No, not at all. There are members of other European royal families in the LoS. Way way down, but still theoretically in line.

Some European royal families, such as Sweden, require royal children to be raised as Lutherans and educated in the realm in order to remain in the Los, but Britain does not have such a rule. Maybe it should.

ozarina · 29/10/2025 16:22

Wonder if this is why 519 was chosen ?

Has anyone told Meghan that one of Fergie's houses burned down because of a candle in a bathroom? In any case if I were her, I’d steer well clear of anything to do with fire after the accusations of disaster tourism re the Palisade fires. And can anyone tell me what Meghan's wedding smelled like? I thought she was unhappy about the “musty chapel” smell and was denied air fresheners to, well, freshen it up. So what is the candle scent? Eau de Damp?

MrsLeonFarrell · 29/10/2025 16:34

I want to know what the other 518 candles smell like!

ThePoshUns · 29/10/2025 16:42

A 4 candle would have been more amusing.

Meghan has two Instagram accounts, Meghan and As Ever. It is hard to distinguish between them in terms of content. Maybe it would help if she had a clear vision for each?

I don't like the term or the idea of massteige, which I've only just come across. I find the concept really patronising, which isn't criticism of Meghan individually, why not be proud of creating good quality, mass market products?

"Massteige" (ugh) is also, as so often with Meghan, way out of date.

We're living in a time of great economic uncertainty in much of the Western world. The luxury industry is in crisis. People want decent products which do what they are supposed to do for a good price, with no added wankery. In contrast, many of the high fashion labels are returning to their elitist roots and moving away from the overcrowded mid range market.

It's a really terrible time to be setting up an 'elite' lifestyle business. And it's not as if Meghan herself is associated with high end luxe. The whole brand is a mess, for all the expensive staff supposedly working on it.

OrangeAxolotyl · 29/10/2025 16:56

No, I think a luxe range is completely wrong for Meghan. She could probably do better with an accessible mid range.

The Aldi Jo Malone dupes are great. They had to change the names so that the rip off wasn't so blatantly obvious. Most Aldi scented candles are great in fact.

Which makes me wonder why anyone would pay big money for an online order candle they've never smelled? Lovely candles can be had for reasonable prices in every supermarket or gift shop. Is she expecting people to buy hers just because she's a Duchess?

I agree. I have an Aldi dupe candle. It was £7 or something and smells great.

I'm not massively fussy about smells and like lots of different things so order candles online, but the scents really don't sound appealing. Also mint and cardamon is not an English garden smell.

It just reminds me of my teen who is a big fan of Billie Eilish and buys her merch, sweatshirts, t shirts, notebooks, key rings etc, all of which either have a line of a lyric, or the album artwork, but something personal to BE, it’s only interesting to diehard fans, my other teen wouldn’t be seen dead in it.

That’s what Meghans stuff reminds me of, (birthdate, and fake wedding date, crest ) merch with something personally related to her which only fans will be interested in it. Of course her billionaire friends will be rowing in and buying in bulk to help out their friends venture (done it plenty of times myself to help out a friends start up business). Bet the billionaires who do buy her stuff will be gifting it to their staff and not their friends or for their own use 🤭

I went briefly insane last year and bought a candle recommended by Nigel Slater. It was embarrassingly expensive, but it smelled amazing and lasted for absolutely ages. For some reason it wasn’t strong, but it was subtle but lingering. This thread is making me want another one. The description is”Splinters of crimson, gold and olibanum, heady and holy perfume of altar candles, luxurious wake of the senses and perfume-burners where amber splutters : under the nave of a cathedral, the jubilant choir and the holy scents rise into the souls” 🤣

I do find it interesting that a couple would lead a very royal life in the USA, considering that nation's history.
Not only that, ensure that their children - American children - would be Prince and Princess. It's a square I can't circle.

The children may well never use the titles once out in the wild. Plenty of "Lords" and "Ladies" living in London and none of their colleagues know their titles. It's meaningless unless it isn't e.g. working royal, member of house of lords.
Depends if the children turn out to be as loopy as their parents 😅

Being a Prince and Princess will open lots of doors.
I think the parents have plans....as someone said on another thread, they've called the daughter Princess Lilibet Diana for a reason.
It ain't to fit in at a California high school! 😂
