Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

I wasn’t quite sure what people were talking about until you posted that photo. Based on that image I would say parents really need to take a good few inches off her hair. The ends have gone quite thin and straggly. It looks like they’re trying to grow it out, but they’re not keeping up with trims. The ends just look a bit unhealthy, but nothing a good haircut couldn’t fix!

Yeah, what's so great about their lives? Given that they're presumably showing us the 'best' bits, I see nothng desirable about their lifestyle.

Has anyone seen the candles in the As Ever "seasonal collection"? They are branded with Meghan based numbers, but the remind me of the Aldi Jo Malone dupes. Is that what she means by "masstige" (a word that really makes me shudder)?

Yeah, they've lucked out. Unearned titles, wealth, contacts, privilege, status, living as royals but without the pesky duties. It's not a bad deal for them.

The Aldi Jo Malone dupes are great. They had to change the names so that the rip off wasn't so blatantly obvious. Most Aldi scented candles are great in fact.

Which makes me wonder why anyone would pay big money for an online order candle they've never smelled? Lovely candles can be had for reasonable prices in every supermarket or gift shop. Is she expecting people to buy hers just because she's a Duchess?

Apparently one of her candles reminds her of the joy of her wedding day ? Wondering if that was the “ real one” or the spectacle for the masses ?
( Or was it her first wedding day ??)

But it's not really an 'outcome' is it? Harry was always going to be rich simply by virtue of being born. That was always a given. As his wife, she obviously gets to share in that.

But now he's cut off from almost all his family and friends, with no purpose in life and no obvious source of income other than interests on his inherited wealth. Financially he's always going to be comfortable but I hardly think his current situation is any great achievement.

They just got booed by the crowd at an LA sporting event.

The US has a federal shutdown. Federal workers are facing starvation since they aren't being paid. 42 million people will lose their SNAP benefits in November. In California, Gavin Newsom is going to have the National Guard help out at food banks. Here on the east coast, many people have relatives In Jamaica and are sending aid if possible to them.

But H & M have their millions, and M has just rolled out a $64 candle. I'm waiting to see the disaster tourism photos in Jamaica. Oh, I forgot - the flights are all being delayed due to the lack of air traffic controllers due to the government shutdown.

That's my point. I'm going to say - kindly - neither of them were going to be very high achievers in their own right.

For the non-US crowd. SNAP = Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The program provides assistance to low-income individuals and families to buy food.

As of Nov 1, the benefits cease due to the federal government shutdown so millions of American households, especially the ones wholly reliant on SNAP don't know what they will eat next week.

SNAP benefits are spent at grocery retailers so effectively the grocery stores will take a financial hit...perishable foods which are ordered in higher quantities for the start of the month, may be thrown away (or hopefully donated) but since grocery store operate on very thin margins, some smaller stores may go out of business.

I do find it interesting that a couple would lead a very royal life in the USA, considering that nation's history.
Not only that, ensure that their children - American children - would be Prince and Princess. It's a square I can't circle.

Meghan has two Instagram accounts, Meghan and As Ever. It is hard to distinguish between them in terms of content. Maybe it would help if she had a clear vision for each?

I don't like the term or the idea of massteige, which I've only just come across. I find the concept really patronising, which isn't criticism of Meghan individually, why not be proud of creating good quality, mass market products?

It will be interesting to see how long their luck will last, once Charles has given them any inheritance from his personal fortune that will be pretty much it for them on the royal gravy train, they are paupers compared to the set they aspire to run with in California, it must be a particularly hard thing for Harry to swallow, previously a Prince of the Realm living in literal palaces, top of the social and financial tree, never having to put his hand in his pocket for anything, people bowing and hanging onto his every word and now? Looking miserable in a pumpkin patch next to a petrol station and selling his kids out to keep the lights on in their McMansion.

The 19th of May 2018 (or 5/19/18 in US date style) was the day on which Meghan and Harry were married at St George’s Chapel in front of an estimated global audience of 1.9bn, by the way.

(I wonder how those posters who argued up hill and down dale that Meghan clearly personally believed the ceremony three days before with the Archbishop of Canterbury was 100% her and Harry’s actual wedding due to her cultural customs, and that it was racist to even suggest she didn’t believe this, think now that Meghan has comprehensively admitted that her wedding was the one at St George’s chapel…)

I can see why some might find it a bit insensitive, but it also seems like she’s just sharing her life. People grieve and move on in different ways, so it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s being disrespectful.
