Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

I rolled my eyes at Hello saying it was a “rare glimpse” of the kids. Like we don’t see their faces but they are in most of her clips!!

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/10/2025 07:23

I think that the children are filmed separately because it's easier to avoid showing their faces that way. If they were interacting their faces would be more visible as at least one children would have their head turned towards the camera. Maybe the whole thing looks awkward because it's filmed in a way that doesn't show anyone's face?

She uses emojis to cover their faces, she regularly posts full face on photos, you can do exactly the same in videos.

Pizzajigsaw · 27/10/2025 08:08

I find the obsession about the kids hair colour unsettling. Logically, it’s because the media want to say something and don’t have faces to compare to other family members or old baby photos as they sometimes do with the wales kids… but constantly going on about the red hair and blue eyes, somehow seems to be saying it’s notable/preferable to inheriting Meghan’s features.

I think the video is also a rebuttal to the “where’s doria” stuff.

It’s very basic, our local garden centre does this, and is in the proper countryside not just a tiny scruffy field behind a petrol station. No one really seems to interact with one another and the vibe seems really off. It’s neither coming across as heartwarming or in keeping with her luxe/exclusive branding. IMHO.

JSMill · 27/10/2025 08:16

@Pizzajigsawthere’s something quite joyless about it. You don’t see anyone smiling or looking like they are enjoying that. The closest interaction is between Archie and a man who I think is Markus Anderson but definitely not Archie’s dad, which is kind of sad. The choice of music is bizarre as well.

Harry himself goes on about Lili’s blue, blue eyes and long, thick hair .
I really don’t think there is anything sinister about mentioning their hair colour ( which is lovely).

Pizzajigsaw · 27/10/2025 08:28

perhaps I’m biased… I have 1 dark haired child and one blonde, when they were little people praised my fair haired child all the time, the older (dark haired) one even noticed it. It was the same in my childhood between my sister and me. Its good for the Sussex children that they have the same hair colour, but it still implies some value judgement about something they have no control over.

AtIusvue · 27/10/2025 08:39

As usual, zero interaction between the siblings. It’s as if they are on solo trips. There’s never been a photo or video where they are engaged with each other playing, exploring, chatting etc.
I think that’s why the family appearances always seem so stilted and joyless….that and the fact you only see the back of their heads.

That’s true. Also you don’t see the four of them as a family. Apart from the very odd photos of Disneyland

There’s never been one shot or video of the kids interacting. At most, ive seen side by side play but no engagement.

It wouldn’t be too difficult to get a distant shot of them in the garden, or them playing a board game and taking a picture from behind. But there isn’t one pic or video. Surely that’s impossible? I’ve also never seen any of the kids interact with the dogs at home. I think there was shots of Archie holding a lead when he was little- but they are never seen playing with the dogs as kids. Which seems odd too.

I notice the cut in the video where it jumps to Archie running around Harry’s feet, while Lili is sitting in one corner of the cart. By the looks of it,Archie was in the cart too but has jumped out and would rather run about. The kids are never ever together.

Which actually means nothing, simply that Meghan doesn't film them together.

AtIusvue · 27/10/2025 08:55

I was at a pumpkin patch yesterday and the kids are all on a hunt to find the ‘best one’- competing with each other, hunting together, showing off what they’ve found to each other. They weren’t interested in the adults at all….until the pumpkins had to be carried back to the car!

But how do you stop them being together? If my children were the only under 10's in the vicinity, they played together. The only time they didn't is if they were with their own friends.

No, it’s indicating that they don’t play together. Which is unusual.

It’s not that difficult to get a shot from behind of kids playing, chatting, hugging, holding hands etc.

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/10/2025 09:03

It doesn't show anything. Each clip was a few seconds, easy to edit a few seconds of each child individually. I used to post the back of my children's heads only on Facebook (back in the dark ages when that was a lovely space with friends). It wasn't much effort to do one at a time and I simply asked the other child to stay out of shot. We did ten seconds for Facebook then continued on our day.

The fact Meghan chooses to post the children individually rather than together is an interesting choice but, whilst it might tell us something about her, it says nothing about them.

There isn’t one pic or video, out of all that she’s posted or released over the years that shows those kids interacting. Not one.

Why on earth would any mother purposely photograph her children separately and ignore the pics of the kids having a good time? That makes no sense.

It’s because they don’t interact. Why? I’m not sure. But it’s the reason why the family pics never seem quite right. It’s because there’s no childlike play, fun happening. The interactions are either controlled by adults or they are off playing solo.

If you look at any family album, you don’t have just seperate pics of the children. They are always together.

Someone suggested to me that they each have their own nanny so don’t interact much .

MrsLeonFarrell · 27/10/2025 09:13

I agree with your comment "the (publically released) interactions are controlled by the parent" and would add the brackets phrase. That is why i say this is telling us more about Meghan rather than the children. There is a discussion to be had possibly about why she presents them individually rather than as a family. The last family shot I remember was a Christmas card with Lili as a baby. Is she building individual brands? I have no idea but it is interesting.

But nothing on a feed controlled by a parent is about the children, it's about the parent.

On a side note there was an interaction that William had recently that i think feeds into this discussion. I can't remembering the exact comment a member of the public made about George but it was asking the lines of how well behaved he was. William replied that George knows how he is expected to behave in public, in other words he isn't like that at home. Celebrities or royals who give us glimpses of their children are controlling the narrative in a way they believe protects their children. It's all about them not the children.

AtIusvue · 27/10/2025 09:24

Meghan is trying to curate the perfect Californian family life, proving she made the right call to quit the RF and the miserable UK.
Thats what’s she’s selling. It would make sense to have pics kids playing in idyllic surrounds (faces covered obviously ), having a great time together.

But she doesn’t. Not one. I have never seen any family that put pics of their kids on insta of FB, have the kids separated in ALL photos and videos.

The pics you see at the pumpkin patch, are the kids together on the haystacks having their pics together, running hand in hand, getting muddy in the puddles splashing each other.

There’s nothing idyllic about a family life where your kids don’t interact at all…even for performative shots.

ThePoshUns · 27/10/2025 09:31

It does come across as so odd. 3 grown adults intently carving pumpkins at a table whilst ignoring two children,
one of whom looks like she has been dragged out of bed 5 minutes prior.
Its all so joyless.

Mylovelygreendress · 27/10/2025 09:33

Was that Markus at the table ?
No interaction between the adults either .

AtIusvue · 27/10/2025 09:39

It’s also odd that on traditional family outings- Disneyland and visiting a pumpkin patch- Meghan brings along Marcus.

I sort of understood him being a friend and being in Paris and then NY with Meg. But now he’s in LA tagging along on yet another family trip.

I suspect its him taking the photos and pics at the pumpkin farm.

The whole set up is beyond strange.

20goingon30 · 27/10/2025 10:04

Kids hair colour is nice, reminds me of my Sicilian ex.
The feel of the reel was glum and glummer. Strange to show the adults carving the pumpkins. Doria looks well fit.

Meghan strides around like the lord of the manor.

Mymanyellow · 27/10/2025 10:05

I’ve always been surprised they are both redheads tbh.

How so?

Mymanyellow · 27/10/2025 10:19

Because it’s rare. And for both children to inherit a rare gene strikes me as unusual. I have red hair, not as dark as Archie and none of my 4 have it, although the boys get it in their beards. My niece has it so does her daughter.
Just unusual I think for both to have it.
Im not suggesting fake pregnancies and all that guff.
