The royal family

Is Meghan a narcissist?

I keep seeing these reels and social media smears on Meghan being a narcissist and abusive partner to Harry. She certainly doesn't seem overly popular with the royal family or understood the expectations of her as a royal when she married him.

I'm by no means a royalist or a fan of Megan's. But I'm the same age as Harry so always felt I could relate a little to him. I haven't read his book or watched the netflix docs.

The main thing that doesn't sit quite right for me is they wanted a 'private life' and then done anything but. Did Megan use Harry's desire for privacy to isolate him from his family and friends?

But she was happy to accept the perks ? Title, 24/7 security , unlimited funds for travel and clothes, jewels, staff , house refurbished to her specifications etc .
What she didn’t want was the boring stuff and she certainly didn’t want to walk behind Catherine .

Whilst insisting on using her own title she isn’t keen to use other people’s- Harry’s grandmother , Kate , your brother etc .

Valid points. I agree with them. What makes me feel uncomfortable is the massive hatred towards her and desire to punish her into extinction. She has been dehumanised.

Mylovelygreendress · 05/10/2025 13:54

I don’t hate her . I have never met her . But I do find a lot of her behaviour reprehensible. So many lies and manipulation. I just know she is not someone I would trust.

I was interested in the shots of Meghan leaving her hotel to go to the fashion show below. She’s staying at the Plaza Athenée, which is a very fancy hotel. It’s part of the Dorchester Group, owned by the Sultan of Brunei, along with the Dorchester in London, obviously.

This reminded me of what Meghan’s then manager said about Meghan and the Dorchester before she married Harry:

”Meghan has strong principles. She set herself standards and she knew what she did and didn't want to be associated with very early on, long before Prince Harry,' explains Gina…
An early indicator of Meghan's careful approach came on one of her first trips to the UK, where Gina and Kruger Cowne arranged for Meghan to stay at The Dorchester, the Park Lane hotel favoured by celebs and Royals. Plans were in place for Ms Markle… to check in for free at the five-star hotel where rooms start from £400. It was an offer for which most clients would 'give their eye teeth', says Gina.
It came as something of a surprise to her hosts, then, when Meghan wrote to say it simply would not do. It was in conflict with her personal beliefs. The owner, the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah – whose Dorchester Collection includes the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA and the Le Meurice in Paris – had recently suggested sharia punishments should be meted out to adulterers and those found to be homosexual. Women who had abortions would be flogged in public.
Gina said: 'Meghan emailed to say she would never stay at the Dorchester, or any hotels they are involved with. We understood and of course agreed.”

Things change, I guess?

Yes, that struck me too

She has the money and influence now to be seen as a real humanitarian and live true to those values.

But chooses not to, and to be seen as nothing more than a voiceless, opinionless high fashion clothes horse (which the Sussex Squad frequently criticise Catherine for being).

The SS are praising how beautiful she is and looks to high heaven. (Which she is, absolutely no argument). The hypocrisy is breathtaking though.

It's a complete about-face for Meghan compared to her days on The Tig and wanting to be She-Ra.

What's the saying? Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.? Once you get a taste of the real elite life it seems morals can take a back seat. Illuminating.

Who hates her?

She's a global public figure who puts herself deliberately in the public eye. Like the Kardashians. People will comment, because that's the point.

Bumped into an acquaintance yesterday who said she's thinks she's got high functioning autism and that is should watch it through that lens.

I find her very strange.

Maybe people need to have some sympathy for her then, instead of trying to tear her down all the time

YorkshireGoldDrinker · 05/10/2025 13:58

She is a narcissist, yes. Possibly also even a sociopath.

jumpingthehighjump · 05/10/2025 14:00

FFS she's a sociopath now

This thread is truly AWFUL.

bluegreygreen · 05/10/2025 14:15

Perhaps though, the PP meant that MM’s delivery at times is misconstrued? Eg the ‘being married before’ not literally but metaphorically

@PinkPanther57 It tends to be the other way round - i.e. that the person with autism takes things literally that are intended metaphorically.

I do, of course, understand that people with autism present individually (as do people without autism!).

Yes, fair point, there’s sadly often misunderstanding all round by others IME .

I think there’s some balance here. Not totally awful.

I think this is, unfortunately, spot on. There’s a reason billionaires with real integrity are few.

I’m afraid I can’t get past her entering the show with all those bodyguards 😂😂. Little Meghan Markle, mom of two, jam maker, flower sprinkler, failed podcaster/producer/royal. I’ve never seen anyone other than ME royalty with that level of security, and for it to be so stage managed and visible is HILARIOUS 😂🤣. What on EARTH did she think was going to happen to her entering the Balenciaga show at PFW?? It’s just begging for comparisons to other and more senior royals and celebrities: I cannot think of a single one with such an ostentatious and cringeworthy display of self-importance 😂 And the straight-backed strutting for 8 yards at a time between door and car was soooo awkward, sooo Zoolander! Where’s that relatable, California-chill persona she’s been flogging for years now? I actually felt sorry for her. She must be so, so insecure, so so desperate for a higher profile than she has.

She was def on a high last night, the video of the feet up in the car on her way home had the same vibe as her eating that bite of apple pie chez Gwyneth Paltrow: look how chill and relaxed I am here at the top! Oh Meghan, never stop. I genuinely admire her tenacity, she’s pure grit and just never gives up. I reckon she single-handedly keeps her family going, moving forward, not imploding. But she’s giving personality disorder with all these different personas she changes as frequently as she changes her designer frocks!

JSMill · 05/10/2025 14:53

When I saw the photos of her looking very glamorous and having dozens of paparazzi snapping away, I thought that’s exactly the kind of life she imagined she was getting when she married into the RF. The 5 star baby showerin NYC was indicative of that. She wasn’t up for the protocol or having to make boring chit chat with the little people on walkabouts or in garden parties. She looked the cat that got the cream in Paris. It’s a bit ironic it’s safe for her to travel to Paris but not London 😉.

The best revenge is living very well & she’s probably enjoying making the haterz froth. It will be interesting to see her evolution.

Agree. It’s so predictable to see all the haters trying to find fault for no reason at all. She slayed and it’s killing them. 😂

Hmm. I’m what you might call a hater and have posted my opinion that she looked great in her black dress.

Nobody has really even found fault with her going to PFW, just made some mild - and completely justified - comments about it being safe to go to Paris but not the UK.

I think posters go a bit overboard with the ‘bile’ , ‘vitriol’ and ‘frothing’ tbc. Most of us are perfectly capable of taking a nuanced view of things.

Thoughtless not twisted (?) Was she aware of the tunnel? It’s the end of a long, successful day…perhaps?

Good post.

Because she’s not a working Royal and her previous endeavours (e.g Netflix shows, podcasts) don’t seem to have paid off as envisaged, I feel like she treats every public appearance as an opportunity for self-promotion and it understandably rubs people up the wrong way. In a nutshell, to me anyway shes perpetually style over substance.

Serenster · 05/10/2025 15:35

I find this a really odd attitude. Yes Meghan looked fab in her two Balenciaga looks in Paris. Yes, her hair and make up were gorgeous. Her glam squad and stylist were on point and made the most of Meghan’s face and figure.

But it’s two outfits (or more accurately, two photo opportunities). It says nothing at all Meghan about as a person, or her past behaviours. I find it profoundly depressing that looking great (or even more depressingly, looking younger than her years) is seen as some kind of a massive triumph vindicating the subject. Even Sarah Ferguson, god help us, has managing some stunning red carpet moments in the last couple fo years (stylists and glam squads help massively with that). It’s all superficial, though, in the end….

Funnily enough, I was wondering if she would post something of herself looking mournful or laying flowers near the tunnel but this is just breathtakingly crass. Is she trying to hurt Harry?

Eh???!?

Its macabre. She knows fine well Dianna died in a tunnel not far from where she was filming, in a car, at night. Megs posts a video after courting the paps(after giving her best zoolander and whipping the photographers into a frenzy), on a route similar to Diana’s at night. It’s not twisted. It’s fucking twisted.
