Is Meghan a narcissist?

I keep seeing these reels and social media smears on Meghan being a narcissist and abusive partner to Harry. She certainly doesn't seem overly popular with the royal family or understood the expectations of her as a royal when she married him.

I'm by no means a royalist or a fan of Megan's. But I'm the same age as Harry so always felt I could relate a little to him. I haven't read his book or watched the netflix docs.

The main thing that doesn't sit quite right for me is they wanted a 'private life' and then done anything but. Did Megan use Harry's desire for privacy to isolate him from his family and friends?

well yes, being autistic I have brilliant pattern recognition, I can also recognise other autistic people very, very quickly, not diagnosing, recognising my tribe. No one is diagnosing her by the way, just highlighting that she demonstrates many, many red flags, of which facial expression was just one (did you see the photo where she sneered down at the Queen?) Did you purposely miss the other traits I mentioned.

Are you asking if she has narcissitic trait or narcissistic personality disorder?

We all have some narcissim but that isn't a full blown disorder. I do think that Meghan shows some demonstration of self-importance, and a huge amount of preoccupation with money/beauty and power- but lots of people have this to varying degrees especially if they didn't grow up with a secure family background. Other traits may exist but will be hidden and can only be assessed by a professional. My guess is that her Mum is highly likely to have NPD.

I think PH show some self importance but doesn't seem to be pre-occupied by wealth and success. I think he has shown empathy when he has been in a position to do so, but his life has been surrounded by people with high levels of narcissim as a norm, it would be hard to determine if his dysfunctional thinking and behaviour is a coping mechnism or as a result of his behaviour.

I think the Gold Standard for Narcissm for me is Donald Trump and I don't think either Harry or Meghan have gone that far. I suppose you could also say that Oprah Winfrey/Martha Stewart are also highly likely to be a narcissist as well- which is who Meghan is trying to emmulate

@2021x How can you make those suggestions about Doria? She always comes across as wise, grounded and modest - she chose to train as a social worker - I can’t think of a less likely career.

Doria seems like a lovely woman. People will just say anything about Meghan’s mother, or Meghan’s friends, just to discredit Meghan.

There’s a whole nutty group of Meghan haters on twitter and you tube who dig into the backgrounds of everyone connected to Meghan. Her mother, her friends, the guests she has on her show, podcasters that have interviewed her, people she does business with. It’s a sickness I think. They are obsessed with Meghan.

just like on here.

I think it's difficult to make any guesses about what kind of person Doria is. Her exposure has been limited. All we know is what has been presented - left Meghan for years with her father while she did some training, made Meghan a latch key kid ( according to Meghan) feeding her TV tray dinners. We've seen her at various events and being at the receiving end of Meghan's wrath when interrupted and we've seen her snapping back at Meghan with some of Meghan's baking. As for her being a social worker , that says nothing. I've found that the most problematic people tend to end up in these " caring" roles.

SynysterGates · 03/10/2025 10:30

oh now its doria's turn to be attacked.

ozarina · 03/10/2025 10:37

I suppose that is the downside of people being in public life however limited that is. Meghan is such a contentious person it's natural for people to look into their family backgrounds. It's been done on here about others. Harry loves to talk about his mother.

Agree.
It's Meghan's mother so she deserves to be attacked according to some. As do her friends or anyone who is remotely positive about Meghan.

And now social workers and those in caring roles tend to be the most 'problematic' people.
What a truly awful thing to say. You should be ashamed of that statement. I'm taken aback

ozarina · 03/10/2025 10:48

oh Dear .. as usual you are such a superior human being to me 🙄

jumpingthehighjump · 03/10/2025 10:51

Not the slightest superior. I just feel those in caring professions often have a difficult job enough as it is without labelling them as 'problematic' people.

I don’t particularly like Meghan & Harry’s actions but I think this is a horrid thread.

I’m repeating what I’ve said. I think this is a horrible thread. Why bring Doria into it? Completely unnecessary.

ozarina · 03/10/2025 11:07

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/12/26/is-2022-the-year-we-all-finally-got-over-narcissists-00075270 A couple of years old but some valid points. If you court the public you get the backlash.

Isn't it the same as Harry bringing Diana into his stories all the time? Meghan has spoken about her upbringing with her mother. You think Meghan's upbringing with divorced parents telling her how special she is or never to give the milk away for free had no impact ?

NewAgeNewMe · 03/10/2025 11:14

Doria is not & hasn’t ever been a public figure so no I don’t think it’s the same as Harry talking about Diana. Diana was a princess of wales so I think different. (She was only a couple of years older than me and I remember her being catapulted onto a global stage.)

What Jane Goodall, said about them a few years ago.

"There's all this stuff in the press about being best friends, which is absolutely stupid," Goodall, 86, tells PEOPLE.

"We're not best friends," she says. "I've only met them three times. It's so silly."

Maybe they have met up since then, but definitely not the friends they claimed to be in their comments about her death.

Wow - is this yet another example of the Harkles trying to use successful people to try and bolster themselves … glad JG saw through their crappy PR lies

She has appeared and been interviewed in their documentary for Netflix, made public appearances with Meghan when she was a working royal and appeared in a video to promote “ With Love, Meghan”. She probably has about the same public profile as Carole Middleton? Who does also get discussed on here from time to time, like Doria.

LaMarschallin · 03/10/2025 12:33

I had a vague idea Doria was a yoga teacher. I didn't know she'd trained as a social worker.
Did she actually work as a social worker?

BemusedAmerican · 03/10/2025 12:44

Doria Ragland's senior business:

LaMarschallin · 03/10/2025 12:55

Sorry, BemusedAmerican, that link doesn't work for me.
Does she work as a social worker for this "loving kindness senior care management" then?

Maybe that ties in with her being the CEO of a care home facility?

She said in words - not diagnosing ! Perhaps read the post properly?
