Yet more damaging revelations for the Yorks. How did the Daily Mail manage to get hold of the email I wonder?

I was so surprised to read that Rosa Monkton, Diana’s best friend, was a close friend of Epstein and gave quotes in interviews about how amazing and generous he was!

I had no idea about that. I think he spent an awful lot of time courting influential people He had his finger in every pie. The charming snake.

padronpepper · 24/10/2025 09:16

Wonder if Bea and Eug got money from him...

Letmeoutodhere · 24/10/2025 09:17

Yes, they did. He was also at at least one of their birthday parties.

It really is shocking.

Prince Andrew chose to evade court proceedings by paying out substantial sums of money. And it appears that it came from QE3 or from someone very close to the institution. To literally cover up abuse of trafficked women. And yet no one is asking for an enquiry? Nothing to see here? I’m appalled by it.

I am also appalled by Rory Stewart’s attitude about this! I always rated him up to now but his misogyny is all too apparent in this debacle.

Saying that we as a collection of nations have more important things to think about than the abuse of women? By his reckoning, I am afraid that will perpetually be the case will it not? When will it ever be a good time to discuss the protection of women and children against male violence I wonder?

Rory is a privileged man who in 2002,
walked for 36 days across northern and central Afghanistan, following an 18 month walk a year or so earlier across Asia, from Turkey to Bangladesh, which included parts of Iran, Pakistan, and the Himalayas!

Did it even enter his head that that sort of adventure could not be undertaken by a women travelling alone and why?

Yes Rory, women’s and children’s safety always comes second to the affairs of men involving war, violence, greed and destruction. Those things will always rate more highly in men’s minds than women’s safety. And that is why, according to Home Office figures, between March 2020- March 2022, 1.8 women a week – or 8 a month – are killed by a current or ex-partner in England and Wales.

The ability to conveniently draw a veil over the sexual abuse of women is also why a divisive, destructive figure like Trump is in power in the USA. Brain the size of a planet and Rory can’t work this out!

And yet Rory took endless trouble to try and reform and make life better for a largely male prison population!

I gather he was tutor to Princes William and Harry and so was unlikely to be objective on this matter! And he’s a friend of the King. And this is how misogyny thrives in modern day Britain unfortunately! I hope he was a little more enlightened when he taught the Princes, but I doubt it!

I don't know if he was trying to be a spokesperson for the King or is just unable to understand the wider implications of the story - either the wider issue that abuse of girls is so common that powerful men DEFEND themselves by saying they just didn't notice, and the more specific UK issue that Prince Andrew's behaviour raises questions about the role of the Royal family in public life.

Instead he thought we should be spending more time on Gaza and Ukraine as though the UK has significant influence on either conflict.

I know there are other aspects to the grooming gang enquiry, but one of the reasons it's causing significant problems for the government now is an institutional impulse to ignore a certain kind of victim, and Stewart is doing a very good job of acting like the kind of man who thinks it's all just beneath him.

Absolutely this^^. Incredibly disappointing from a man of his intelligence. I hope AC takes him to task about it!

I think he was probsbly acting in defence of the RF AND men like him simply don’t get it, because they don’t have to! It isn’t even on their radar!

I gave up on Rory Stewart and The Rest Is.. empire after Rory Stewart told women to stop fretting about Afghanistan as it's much safer now.

I'm assuming whatever it was he said was along the lines of "what is all this stuff and nonsense, can't a man enjoy his free time" type shit

Andrew Lownie says he’s been told who killed Epstein.

I’m not sure what to think?

He also talks about Sarah Ferguson - that she will be able to resume business as usual at some point? (How many chances can one person get). But that Andrew will retire quietly?

Retire from what? He doesn’t do anything.

I meant to post this video on the Andrew Lownie book thread, not here. I’ve done so now.

But yes, good point. Retire from what?

C5 programme last night ,"Fergie: where did the money go?" Mentioned that Epstein was being tapped so regularly for money to pay off her debts (£50k at a time was mentioned) he actually got fed up of bailing her out

I'm absolutely stunned at the brass neck of people who go about their lives asking other people for money. It's so repugnant.

Sarah F asking for £50k and the rest, Eugenie getting £25k for a party for her mum.

Oh to be the RF and never have to pay for anything because someone somewhere, whether it's a rich dodgy business person or us plebs, is going to pay instead.

These people are the ultimate grifters. The entire RF are at it.

padronpepper · 26/10/2025 09:42

It’s their modus operandi @CrimsonStoat.
And their first inclination is to lie about it when challenged.

Wasn’t the late Queen infamous for never carrying cash 🙄

Maybe she was blackmailing him.

Depending on what she was doing, what would she need it for?

BemusedAmerican · 26/10/2025 13:03

Yes, it's not as though she was was going to have a sudden urge for a coffee while driving around in her Rolls to a public engagement. Everything was planned for her.

A quick detour via the Starbucks drive through!

Assuming that is genuine... Thanks!
Aside from the celebs, look at all the aristocratic-looking names in there. And many of those listed have multiple numbers because they have 2nd / 3rd / 4th homes in various exotic tax havens, and / or yachts. How the other half lives eh?
