Yet more damaging revelations for the Yorks. How did the Daily Mail manage to get hold of the email I wonder?

I posted this elsewhere

So let me get this right... daughters can still be called Princesses.
Sarah (ex wife of 30 years) can't sell any more books under the title Duchess of York (70 under her belt for that)
And Andrew? He will not 'use' his Duke of York title but he will retain the Dukedom because it can only be removed by an Act of Parliament.
In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.
With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.
As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.

jumpingthehighjump · 17/10/2025 20:15

OF COURSE he can deny any accusations said against him because Virginia Guiffre is dead by suicide. As is Jeffrey Epstein

Lalgarh · 18/10/2025 08:06

They played another clip from the Maitlis interview last night which had him insisting a) he has no idea where the bar In Tramps was and has never ordered drinks from there and b) he doesn't drink. Just blatant "wasn't me guv"

I know! I have just heard it on the BBC news. So what he doesn't drink, does that stop him buying a drink for someone he is there with?

I've said it before but I'll say it again, he must think the general public are all lacking in brain cells if he thinks they would buy any of his guff. He is a proven liar

Lalgarh · 18/10/2025 08:15

The sad thing is, he probably genuinely doesn't remember Virginia (RIP). He was supposedly sleeping with so many women, trafficked or not, that they all would have been as some other "service" like any other hotel receptionist or chauffeur

He doesn't care what we think. He might as well have walked into that interview and said ' Im a Blood Prince and I fought in the Falklands, I can do what I like' and walked out again instead of spending an hour saying just that and expecting anyone to believe him!

He more or less said that innthe interview when he was asked directly about why he didnt think anything ofcthe very young girls milling about at Epsteins parties. I think thats whats caught him out. The others there knew what they were doing and that they would have to cover their tracks but Andrew didnt even care enugh to do that because he thought he should be able to do what he liked. They were there to service him. Of course they werent like his daughters. His daughters are Royal. Everyone else exists to see to his every whim.

Haha yes! It was bad at the time but having watched bits of it again now years later, it's like a spoof where someone says the most ridiculous things in answer to serious questions for an entertainment programme!

I have my favourite bits

"It was just a straightforward, a straightforward shooting weekend". (Like the general population do that as a matter of course most weeks)

"I was patron of the NSPCC Full Stop Campaign so I know what to look for"

"I wasn't party to what was going on in the United States" (with Epstein's convictions and the fact he had been charged with sex trafficking. Anyone would think Andrew didn't have security officers or the RF had no access to intelligence!)

"at the time I felt it was the honourable and right thing to do and I admit fully that my judgement was probably coloured by my tendency to be too honourable but that's just the way it is."
😂😅😂😅😂😅😂

LaMarschallin · 18/10/2025 09:19

I only listened to the full interview recently and was struck by how many times he says things like "Funnily enough...", "Oddly enough...", "Weirdly...".
It's like he knows what he's saying is absolute rubbish but if he acknowledges that it sounds complete fantasy it makes it sound true.
Obviously, it really, really doesn’t.

Very much agree with LidlAmaretto.

I think he's outraged to discover he can't do exactly what he wants and is being questioned by those he sees as beneath him (practically everybody except for the RF) and thinks he's so much more clever than the general population so that they/we'll believe anything a royal says.

It's all so pathetic. He was awarded Order of the Garter in 2006, at least seven years after he met Epstein. QE2 continually awarded him with this that and the other even when his behaviour was dodgy.

So Charles now considering removing KG from Andrew means little. What is it anyway, just a pile of tripe to make someone like Andrew feel important, and get to dress up. It's a DM story so might well be fiction

I will believe it when it happens that Charles revokes Andrew's order of the Garter. As I understand it it is entirely in the Monarch's gift so he could revoke it today if he chose. It should be a no brainer; nothing most noble or chivalrous about consorting with known child sex traffickers and (probably) sleeping with a trafficked teenage girl, after all.

But I keep remembering the statement from Buckingham Palace, when VG's allegations first came to light a few years ago, that they were 'false and without any foundation'. This was the spokesperson of our then Head of State publicly stating that a victim of sex trafficking was a liar, and that there was no evidence of her allegations (although there was plenty). That still makes me feel ashamed, and believe there is no lengths the monarchy won't stoop to to protect one of its own.

Inveterate liars - the whole lot of them. They literally are untouchable and it's taken the scandal of Epstein to finally force them to admit that they have clay feet just like the rest of us.

padronpepper · 18/10/2025 13:52

But in a few weeks the Wales children, and probably the Tindall children, will be wheeled out at the Carol Concert in Westminster and then the walk to church on Xmas Day and all the warm fuzzy feelings will be back...
And then it will be announced which school George will be going to for Year 9 and that will take up acres of newsprint and online content.

jumpingthehighjump · 18/10/2025 15:00

Gosh yes... as it gets towards Christmas and Kate's concert, it will all be about ooooh will they wear matching outfits, and doesn't Kate look splendid and how adorable the children are.

Not... how much was Andrew into this chinese spy thing. From what I've read he was up to his neck in it. And omg look at what has been said in Virginia's book and what about this other survivor's book, look what's in that.

K&W have done far more engagements in the last few weeks than they have done for a very very long time, I wonder if it was to take the heat off this situation

Are you saying that small children should be held responsible for their Great Uncle's misbehaviour? Is the whole of the rest of their life irrelevant because of this?

Should Lili and Archie be held responsible for their parents' lies over the years?

padronpepper · 18/10/2025 15:12

No I’m not saying that.
They will be a distraction from the very serious issues facing their family.

You're another one - you are saying nothing going forward should be reported or is of relevance because of Andrew. Gosh you are scraping ...

Pardon?

Where on earth did you get that from? Of course the concert will be televised. Of course visits to worthy charities and businesses by W&K will be in the media. Of course the royal children will be talked about.

Why are you saying that I have said 'nothing going forward should be reported'. I haven't even hinted at that. However it can be that the media will be flooded with stories about the other Royals to take the heat off of any other Andrew stories.

Please stop making things up, it does you no favours.

ozarina · 18/10/2025 15:22
Come On What GIF

I think you are the one who is making things up - a Christmas Carol service to take the heat off Andrew. Hallo! It happens every year .

jumpingthehighjump · 18/10/2025 15:28

I know it does? Where have I said it shouldn't be reported, because that's what you said.
you are saying nothing going forward should be reported
Those are your words. To me. ⬆️
Of course it is going to be reported and the concert will not take the heat off Andrew because it is a yearly event, much enjoyed by some.

However, there is no doubt that Charles and the wider family want to put this behind them. Hence these actions. I also think there is more to come out. There will be feel good stories in the media in the hope that any other revelations are pushed aside. That is just my opinion.

deeahgwitch · 21/10/2025 17:50

Have any other famous (US) men been written about in Virginia’s book or is it just Andrew and obviously Epstein.

Lalgarh · 21/10/2025 18:01

She started out as a part time worker at Mar A Lago so it's highly likely

padronpepper · 21/10/2025 18:15

Bill Gates met with Epstein multiple times.

Thedom · 24/10/2025 07:36

She didn’t name anyone else, for fear of being sued, according to her ghost writer. Apparently the ghost writer has the names. I also wonder why the amount of Andrews payment remains secret and subject to so much speculation, which ranges from 3 million to 12 million.

Thedom · 24/10/2025 08:12

I was so surprised to read that Rosa Monkton, Diana’s best friend, was a close friend of Epstein and gave quotes in interviews about how amazing and generous he was!

It really is shocking.

Prince Andrew chose to evade court proceedings by paying out substantial sums of money. And it appears that it came from QE3 or from someone very close to the institution. To literally cover up abuse of trafficked women. And yet no one is asking for an enquiry? Nothing to see here? I’m appalled by it.

I am also appalled by Rory Stewart’s attitude about this! I always rated him up to now but his misogyny is all too apparent in this debacle.

Saying that we as a collection of nations have more important things to think about than the abuse of women? By his reckoning, I am afraid that will perpetually be the case will it not? When will it ever be a good time to discuss the protection of women and children against male violence I wonder?

Rory is a privileged man who in 2002,
walked for 36 days across northern and central Afghanistan, following an 18 month walk a year or so earlier across Asia, from Turkey to Bangladesh, which included parts of Iran, Pakistan, and the Himalayas!

Did it even enter his head that that sort of adventure could not be undertaken by a women travelling alone and why?

Yes Rory, women’s and children’s safety always comes second to the affairs of men involving war, violence, greed and destruction. Those things will always rate more highly in men’s minds than women’s safety. And that is why, according to Home Office figures, between March 2020- March 2022, 1.8 women a week – or 8 a month – are killed by a current or ex-partner in England and Wales.

The ability to conveniently draw a veil over the sexual abuse of women is also why a divisive, destructive figure like Trump is in power in the USA. Brain the size of a planet and Rory can’t work this out!

And yet Rory took endless trouble to try and reform and make life better for a largely male prison population!

I gather he was tutor to Princes William and Harry and so was unlikely to be objective on this matter! And he’s a friend of the King. And this is how misogyny thrives in modern day Britain unfortunately! I hope he was a little more enlightened when he taught the Princes, but I doubt it!
