I hope it's OK to start a new thread after the last one filled up

Interesting on the BP timing - that it coincided with their only celeb event of the year - the Kevin Costner thing.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and all that…..

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2025 11:50

I’m pleased and relieved to see such a strong slap down (from BP one assumes) on the latest noise about Harry being welcomed back into the fold and the rift between Charles and William

The thing that's most noticeable to me, @elessar, is that in only 24 hours we've gone from blather about Harry wanting a return to the palace shooting it down, so either the media are in invented clickbait overdrive or Charles et al have actually acted decisively for once

Personally I wouldn't want to call it either way, but if there's any truth about the palace's attitude we can only wonder what H&M's next move will be

Mylovelygreendress · 22/09/2025 12:27

It was reported at the weekend that Harry had put down Archie’s name for Eton however his spokesperson has swiftly denied that.
Of all the stuff flying around why does that need an official statement ?

BemusedAmerican · 22/09/2025 12:29

Maybe Eton told them to deny it?

It now seems clear to me that all those rumours were coming straight from the Sussex camp - perhaps they were starting to feel emboldened that the more subtle hints they’d been putting out over the last few weeks weren’t getting refuted. It’s actually quite awful though if Harry is the one behind the nasty messaging about Charles and William, and would really show he’s learned absolutely nothing over the last few years.

They mentioned the DM article re H&M on GMB this morning and there seemed to be a lot of 🙄👀😉 about ‘sources have said’ … mentioning oh so who are these sources, are they close to Harry? And one of the journalists who I think works for the DM said something like yes VERY close to Harry, lots of ‘knowing looks all around’
they also said that the comments underneath were almost all saying on your bike Harry … the public have spoken! Even the DM readers with H&M’s journalist who writes positively towards them

It’s behind a paywall but I’ve got the gist 😁
as @DelightedDelicious has said a revenge is a dish best served cold…

I could almost feel sorry for him, then I remember what the pair have put his family through and any sympathy evaporates.

MrsLeonFarrell · 22/09/2025 13:36

I've said it before but I'll say it again, Harry's problem with the public is that the way he treated his family is so relatable. We all know families with one member whose sense of grievance is at odds with the truth. We can imagine what is like to have personal stories made public. Parents can relate to the pain of children attacking them and siblings to the pain of estrangement from a brother. We all know inlaws who don't get on. Harry betrayed his family's privacy, and then for good measure attacked his country as racist.

I'm not sure how playing with a balloon sword fixes that.

Sorry will try to repost with a share token

NewAgeNewMe · 22/09/2025 14:15

Thank you. Most interesting 🤔
HIHO rejected quite clearly by the palace.

NormaMajors1992coat · 22/09/2025 14:28

It is understood that Harry does not want a “half-in, half-out” arrangement and did not ask the King for any such deal at the latest meeting.
A spokesman for Harry said: “The duke has made it clear that the focus has to be on his dad.
Harry is said to be very happy with his life in California with his wife, Meghan.

Can I just say that I predicted this at 1103 🔮

Interesting what they chose to quote from the guardian article.

The thing is he may have put Archie’s name down for Eton, doesn’t mean Archie will be offered a place.

Mystic Meg! He’s so desperately trying to save face isn’t he! of course he wanted HIHO that’s why Megzit happened in the first place! He’s been slapped down very publicly and he hates it! Hence the I didn’t want to be your friend anyway clap back. Fool.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2025 16:11

From the Times:
"A spokesman for Harry said: “The duke has made it clear that the focus has to be on his dad"
“Beyond that, and on any other issues as it relates to his family, we won’t be commenting"

Well that makes a change; at least they didn't try to pretend that not commenting is his usual MO, but I wonder how long it'll last Hmm

Edited to add that pretending Harry didn't want HIHO is indeed risible, @BigWillyLittleTodger, but it matches the silliness of so many other claims so nothing new there ... it's "his truth" remember, and that seems to vary

Exactly!

Once again H has made a mess of things. How does he get it so wrong all of the time? Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

NormaMajors1992coat · 22/09/2025 16:43

Thing is if he had two brain cells to rub together and wasn’t so deluded, he’d realise that the reason the RF won’t be bounced into letting him back HIHO is partly because he is so unpopular, it would risk reputational damage for them. They have got a massive problem at the moment with the least popular member of the family. The last thing they need is the second and third least popular members turning up to further tarnish the royal image. But I don’t suppose it has ever crossed his mind that an indiscreet liar with a drug habit and a massive sense of entitlement is perhaps not the most attractive proposition for the RF, the public, or the government.

OrangeAxolotyl · 22/09/2025 16:46

@NormaMajors1992coat you've summed up Harry absolutely.

The biggest reason for not allowing HIHO is it completely undermines the point of the monarchy.

If they could just do whatever they fancied and skip the boring bits, then they'd have no real claims of service to the country and the other tenuous claims they have to remain in position.

It's like any job, you can't just pick and choose what you do. "Oh yes, I'll go to the free lunches and do the meeting schedules. But nah, I won't be doing the presentations or the schmoozing after lunch".

Edited

That's right, it's then about self aggrandisement, not service.

And a frequently reported bully for a wife. It’s just a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’ the class action lawsuit is issued by a long list of ex-staff who have suffered harassment and belittling whilst just trying to earn a living.

Even if BP have moved on from their own in-house bullying investigation of MM - they will not voluntarily take back the bomb that will explode on their territory when all of the US victims press the litigation button.

They don’t need to showered with that all shit when it eventually goes off - especially as they are barely holding any credibility with PA right now.

Needspaceforlego · 22/09/2025 18:29

Now that I've read more than the headline.
You could almost read it as H has asked to get back in, as in back in full-time, with or without M.

Or you could read it as we aren't having half the Sussexes either ie we definitely aren't having H while attached to M.

I did take a guess H would want to try to get his kids into the same school as the Wales. Although secondary is a while away I had been more thinking primary school.
Does Eton accept girls?

NormaMajors1992coat · 22/09/2025 18:34

I’d be surprised if William would tolerate his children being at school with Harry’s tbh. No, Eton is boys only.

Needspaceforlego · 22/09/2025 18:36

I know I'm think W would blow a gasket at the thought if A being anywhere near L.
I say those two as they are closest in age. G would probably be out of secondary school before A starts.

I didn't think it took girls but thought id ask
