I hope it's OK to start a new thread after the last one filled up

The mail don’t like it that W&C are private and don’t feed the press.
Even their official photos are released now directly from their own social media accounts.

That's true. The press are reaping what they sowed when they over reacted to the mother's day photo. Plus I don't think William has ever liked the press, he just knows they are part of his job.

PP family and childhood was tragic. QE2 also trauma of a different kind with abdication scandal and her and her parents being pivoted into a life they hadn’t planned.

Would also say that so many of H’a aunts/uncles alongside his own parents divorcing during his childhood would have been quite unusual.

Always wonder if W&H ever socialised with Spencer cousins - or are they wrong ages?

The Wales children seem to have strong bonds with their Tindall cousins, and almost certainly their Middleton cousins too, though those interactions won't be so public. Those are worth a lot as those kids will understand their situation. Archie and Lili are cut off from that and I can see Harry having the same reaction he had to the unequal distribution of sausages, without thinking through the massive gulf between them that he and Meghan have created.

That's the difference. William sees the press as necessary for his public life, not for his private life.
Harry sees the press as a way to self promote and be a celebrity.

Next generation are too young.
Although I think W would be inclined to turn to his cousins the same as his Gran did.

I cant see this happening. None of his cousins have been brought up to be working royals. Beactrice and Eugenie have PA's cloud over them. I cant see the Edinburghs encouraging their kids to be working royals.

I agree. There's no way William could trust Beatrice and Eugenie.
Louise and James are not in the picture.

He's shameless.

In other words

Prince Harry read articles criticising him for not staying for the Duchess of Kent's funeral.

Their PR is so transparent.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 21/09/2025 11:41

I honestly don't think the DM care about anything other than clicks.

The other issue is the fact the people that H&M have upset are the Royalist - these are the people that line the streets, go to openings which the RF are attending. It has taken decades for Camilllla to be accepted, and that was by getting on with everything quietly.

But mainly, if those articles are vaguely true in the DM, then I am very concerned that the King hasn't got long - H has to achieve complete reconciliation before W becomes King.

Not such a secret visit then ...

He really doesn't understand the concept of private, does he?

Agree - I think Charles needs to be wary of bringing Harry back. I understand he wants to reconcile and their personal relationship is completely their own business, but I think this approach is absolutely bonkers. It puts the family and monarchy at risk by laying themselves open to future allegations. There's been a lot of support for Charles and the monarchy so far but it won't last forever if people think Charles has brought it on himself by acting recklessly. There's a real risk that he will alienate the people who have so far supported him, both within his family and the public at large.

OrangeAxolotyl · 21/09/2025 12:49

Charles may be sentimental, but he's not a fool. The monarchy steering group includes William. I'm wondering if KC just wants to open the door to Harry privately, to visit, and Harry has misinterpreted this as being the door open for official royalty again?
It wouldn't surprise me, he's so entitled and arrogant.

Every little thing he does is self promotion. It’s pitiful. His PR team are obviously trying really hard to rehabilitate him. All these ‘sources’ are more than likely to be his PR team.

3peassuit · 21/09/2025 14:08

I'm pretty sure the grieving Duke of Kent wont have leaked the visit. It's a bit low for Harry and his team to have used this for good PR.

I keep thinking he won't stoop any lower, but there he goes.

He's such a dumbass.

Ohpleeeease · 21/09/2025 16:31

I listened to the episode of When It Hits The Fan which covered Harry’s PR mission. What surprised me as that they were so convinced that most people want to see Harry and Charles reconciled. I don’t get that feeling at all. Most people probably couldn’t care less. A few sentimental souls would like to see it happen. Rather more are sceptical about his motives.

One thing I did agree with, Harry is winning on PR. But what a sad world we live in when it’s PR and not principles that win the day.

chunkybear · 21/09/2025 16:38

I’ll bet the whole of BP and KP are 🙄 .. trust the dumbass 🤡 to run straight to the papers … can’t be trusted … has to get his name in the paper no matter what …. Want one of these Hazbeen 🪏

Also in the Telegraph - seems like the Mail on Sunday article was just one step too far

Telegraph: No half-in half-out

Looks like Harry’s been given the proverbial slap down 😂

Referring to the briefings, however, a royal insider told the Daily Mail: 'Whoever is behind them seems to have mistaken a brief tea and a slice of cake for the Treaty of Versailles.'

Quite. He just wanted to spread that rumour. Or got confused. Or thinks it's still 2019. Who knows, it's Harry.

Treeleaf11 · 21/09/2025 19:48

For the Telegraph article
The source is reported to have added pointedly: “<a class="break-all" href="https://archive.li/o/D3Tcb/www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2025/08/28/prince-harry-to-visit-uk-for-first-time-since-court-defeat/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Harry’s visit to the UK was not about trying to show up or compete with his brother – in fact, the opposite.
“It was to remind William that Harry can be there to take some of the load off, given some of the criticism William has received for carrying out a lower number of engagements than his father.”

Wow what a nasty piece of work Harry is. Making out he is the concerned brother whilst criticising William in the same sentence.

Letmeoutodhere · 21/09/2025 19:50

He’s absolute poison .

Treeleaf11 · 21/09/2025 19:51

He's such an idiot. If he had kept his big mouth shut this might have been the start of a reconciliation with KC. But he would not stop blabbing to the media.
