Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15064693/Princess-Wales-natural-history-museum-return-work-summer.html

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

For the Vote:
You are being unreasonable, Kate's hair is all her own.
You are NOT being unreasonable, it's defiantly a wig.

Also as a side note I love her outfit.

Good Heir Day! Kate returns to duties with blonde post-holiday hair

The Princess of Wales joined her husband Prince William to visit the Natural History Museum in London today as they returned to duties after their summer break.

Ha, I knew I sussed it out correctly.

As you say, that’s quite enough now.

I’m amazed this thread is still up, it’s quite shocking really that a woman with cancer’s hair and looks are being disparaged by so many posters, not pleasant at all.

SoNotaRealHousewife · 05/09/2025 16:19

She’s probably like most women, we get bored and want a change, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t

sundayfundayclub · 05/09/2025 16:20

My thick and wavy hair has not thinned out due to either childbirth or menopause (If I let it air dry so have a complete mushroom head).

A good cut should prevent the mushroom effect.

sundayfundayclub · 05/09/2025 16:21

I'm not going to derail this any further but we all know that certain groups have more " rights" than others.

Wow! Do we?

I think her friends at university, including William called her Kate. But if it is her wish to be called Catherine now then it should be respected by the media. It is understandable that people call her Kate because that is what is has always been known as in the media.

In the engagement interview William referred to her as Kate. He also referred to her as Kate only a few years ago but I can't remember the context. This is what he will call her I expect.

@jamnpancakes Ive seen a side to you on this thread that hasn’t been apparent elsewhere but at least people will know the real you now.

Are we not allowed to say that we don’t think her hair suits her?

sundayfundayclub · 05/09/2025 16:33

@CurlewKate I think only positive comments are allowed?

It's not naice but it's human nature

sundayfundayclub · 05/09/2025 16:49

It's definitely human nature to disagree & the press does a lot of "Kate looks great" which obviously some people will disagree with.

I like Adele & Taylor Swift but if I started a thread about it plenty would disagree with me. Look at any thread about celebrity men posters find attractive, a lot of debate on there too.

No, I have an excellent cut and I am the same,if I leave it to dry naturally my hair is wild.

sundayfundayclub · 05/09/2025 17:57

My very thick & wavy hair used to do that but a great cut sorted it out so I can dry naturally except when it's very hot & humid!

Seeing as you were one of the ringleaders on the awful where is Kate threads I can understand why you think she is fair game, and quit with being disingenuous, you know full well the comments I am referring to, the more awful ones have been deleted, it’s really not complicated.

For clarity- I wasn’t a “ringleader”. But hey, accuracy’s never been a thing on any side of threads about any in or out members of the RF, so fill your boots.

Yet it was you who started a thread after her diagnosis as you felt bad about the things you said but then swiftly forgave yourself and others as it really wasn’t your fault……

The narrative is always complicated with complicated cancer narrative.

As ever.

Oh for goodness sake 😂 I didn't clock this was the royal family forum shudder. I just clicked on a trending thread.

Are people seriously still spouting this stuff?

It was on AIBU before 😅

Noseyoldcow · 05/09/2025 19:24

When Katherine Middleton got engaged to Prince William I said that there was no way I’d fly into THAT gilded cage, not that I’d have been asked. And this thread proves I would have been right. Give the girl a break. Who would want people speculating whether their hair was natural/assisted with extensions/a syrup and really she is bald as a coot? None of anyone’s business but the Princess herself. But the poor woman has to put up with every man jack and his wife speculating about her health, her weight, her hair, her clothes, her relationship with her husband, her children, her parents and siblings and then her in laws and god knows what else. Leave her alone!
Can’t we just simply wish her well?

Phatgurslyms · 05/09/2025 19:59

I found this thread offensive and cruel from the outset but then orthodox Jewish women and black women were bright into it (I have no idea why!). Ugh!

BloomingNerines · 05/09/2025 20:00

Have no idea why mn haven’t deleted this thread

jamnpancakes · 05/09/2025 09:57

@Millytante my point is that it seems to be ok or acceptable to talk about certain groups of people whereas if you were to talk about black women's hair all hell would be let loose. In fact I recall a poster on here stating that white women should not be commenting on black women's hair in relation to Meghan. My point remains that it seems to be ok to talk about certain groups.

I am white but even i know that when discussing wigs it is essential to recognise that the context surrounding black women’s hair is vastly different from that of a white woman
For centuries, afro hair has been the subject of ridicule ,discrimination and marginalisation
The Princess of Wales does not face the same historical context when it comes to hair .
Comparing wig wearing black women to the Princess of Wales is problematic because it overlooks the unique challenges faced in a world that historically denigrated black women’s natural hair
I hope hat you understand now

Don't be so dramatic. There is truth in what I say . I went to hospital for a cardio assessment and the nurse when she heard my Scottish accent " shall we take you right through to the theatre now?" . I was so gobsmacked that I didn't say anything. You see in this country which you haven't lived in for years there is very much an uneven playing field when it comes to who can and cannot be slagged off.

I lived in the Middle East for years and I know the rampant racism that exists there from citizens towards other nationalities . If there is anything I have said that you consider offensive then report.
