Prince Harry's Wreath

Profhilodisaster · 18/08/2025 16:29

So apparently Prince Harry has asked someone to lay a wreath on his behalf to honour the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.
I know the military meant a lot to him but he's being called out on it as he mentions his grandfather. I'd like to think he did this with the best intentions but the cynic in me wonders if he did it as a dig at William for only posting a message on social media.

I fully expected H to go for Andrew in his autobiography. After all, he’s an easy target. Everyone hates him. I also wondered if he’d been unwelcoming to M as he’s an arrogant twat. Turns the real villain was Catherine. Who knew?

Again.

it wasn’t relevant. But you will find every reason under the sun to criticise Harry, but not the members of the family standing by Andrew.

Oh not this same old drivel again - the RF standing by Andrew 🙄

I disagree . Harry was angry that he wasn’t allowed half in half out so it would have been the perfect opportunity for him to say that it was unfair when his Uncle was creaming off millions through shady deals .

How do you know that wasn't discussed at the Windsor summit (or whatever it was called)
You don't

Harry usually relishes a legal fight !

Yes it's a mystery isn't it !

Obviously we don’t know the details of the Sandringham Summit however Harry has taken the opportunity in print, in his reality show and various interviews to criticise members of his family so it strikes me as a bit strange that he didn’t criticise the most obnoxious person !
Was the bridesmaid dress situation really more serious than Andrew’s well known behaviour ??
Anyone would think that Andrew has stuff on H and M that the Montecito grifters don’t want made public.

BemusedAmerican · 21/08/2025 14:28

No. I hadn't even thought of William. I just thought the press release about the letter was tacky.

After reading Lownie 's book, I was struck by the fact that Fergie registered her charities ( or at least one) in Delaware, did kids books, a cooking show, etc. Sounded very familiar.

Differences are Andrew and Fergie have so far resisted Charles's attempts to boot him from the Windsor estate. Charles is also not giving Andrew money.

Since Charles is head of the C of E, he can't exactly be seen barring Andrew from church services.

One would hope that alleged abusers could be removed from the church.

Convicted criminals are welcomed into church. Alleged does not mean you are and our criminal system works on the basis of innocent until proven guilty I believe.

They have church services in prisons, don't they? I think the Christian Church tries to include in the hope of redemption.
Imagine barring everyone from church who was accused of wrong doing!

Yes, that's so odd, isn't it? Criticism of the others on a petty level eg Kate and the lipgloss, but Andrew? Or even Fergie? Tumbleweed.......

They only criticize those who personally agrieve them. Prince Andrews financial dealings and alleged crimes don't affect H plus M so he doesn't care as much.

Ok. So the Lownie book is obviously wrong about Andrew and Harry having a physical confrontation, and Andrew insulting Meghan. Lownie should remove those from the book. I'm less convinced about it's authenticity now.

Profhilodisaster · 21/08/2025 15:08

@Mildorado I've just posted this on another thread-

I've just seen that (apparently) Harry's lawyers have sent Lownie a letter and the publishers have re-edited the book. The person posting this seems very angry at him claiming he scammed them out of money (he was her literary agent) and asked her to procure young girls for him .
Why is everything so murky?

The King clearly felt his heir didn't need to attend.

How do you know that? You don't. William could easily have said, nope not doing it, it's school holidays

Well done Harry with your wreath and personalised heartfelt message for VJ Day. It read well and I am sure resonated with veterans. You did far more than William, despite not being a working member of the Royal family.

And I will keep dead catting Andrew whilst he is holed up in his 80 room royal estate. The comparison between the treatment of Andrew who has grifted off the royal family for decades, and Harry is stark.

How do you know that either?

Just as much evidence that he wasn't required - more actually as William has never refused to attend anything he wasn't required to for his role.

Thank you for this. It's all very murky indeed, I agree
I'm wondering if the truth will ever emerge.

Briantheguitargod · 21/08/2025 15:12

I can't see that PH did anything wrong. but then some people just like to find fault with everything he does.

Is the he in this case refering to Lownie or Harry?

Charles was annoyed when Diana hogged all the headlines . I remember him being peeved when they were doing a walkabout and some of the crowd groaned because it was Charles not Diana who was near them .
If W and C had attended , the main headlines would have been about Catherine’s outfit/ hair/ weight rather than the actual event plus the King and Queen.
Just another viewpoint.

BemusedAmerican · 21/08/2025 15:23

I believe the re- edit simply mentions that Harry didn't agree with the fight story.

IAmATorturedPoet · 21/08/2025 15:25

Lownie is on record as saying ‘a friend of a friend said’ had been used in the book because sometimes that was all he had to go on.

Not great for a respected historian.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out there wasn’t a punch thrown and there was no physical fight that required the two princes to be separated.

I don't. I was illustrating a point with you because you stated as fact that the King didn't need William to attend.

I said we don't know that. As much as you don't know that he hasn't attended anything required for his role. He doesn't appear to have a role. Anne does most of the investitures even though W lives round the corner. What is his role whereby as Heir he has to attend something? I think he can decide what he wants to attend. Just my opinion before you say 'you don't know that'

Repeatedly on the other thread I said I would not expect William to be glued to Charles's side. He could attend other commemorations (maybe in Wales?) like the other Royals who commemorated VJ Day. They didn't all walk round together!
