I've never started a thread here before, but I thought some people might be interested in this take on the story by a PR podcast I listened to yesterday (started listening to this podcast as I know very little about PR!).

It would be good to know if any of the resident PR people agree.

So I take it NF won't be selling her products then .

What products? Confused

The only thing I'm wondering about any futuree with Netflix is that I thought there was supposed to be "another series of (whatever) in the can"?

Dustythewondercat · 23/07/2025 09:36

if PW when king took the titles away fro H, wouldn't he also have to do the same with PA? would H still be a prince?

MaturingCheeseball · 23/07/2025 09:22

Yeah, Harry was interested in living the White Mischief life - polo, g&ts, posho mates (and matesses) with a bit of saviourism thrown in.

It's all very colonial. I would include the quasi royal tours as well.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 23/07/2025 09:39

You cannot meditate with Narcissists, it’s impossible, can anyone think of anything that would make Harry and Meghan happy and content with any “Olive branch” the royal family offered? Nothing would be good enough, the only thing that would appease them is William handing over the crown with a grovelling apology but even then they would complain he didn’t bow low enough. You cannot win with narcissists so it’s not even worth trying.

Exactly ! What a mess and how humiliating for her , all that hype about Netflix becoming a partner in her business. What will she do next I wonder.
It will be interesting to see if they release the 'second' series .

BigWillyLittleTodger · 23/07/2025 09:44

I also don’t like the pressure put on Catherine in the media that she should be the peacemaker, she has her own family, her cancer journey and becoming the future Queen to contend with as well as bringing up the future Heir, she could do without the added pressure of being expected to meditate with Meghan and Harry which would never work anyway it’s unfair to put that on her on top of everything else.

I agree that PA needs his titles taken away, but I think they'll just gradually squash him into a box somewhere and ban him from public events rather than kick up more of a stink. He is unbelievably bone-headed in his refusal to lie down and die (metaphorically!) and keeps tagging along when they go to church, which I suppose is the only royal activity they probably can't stop him from doing.

The Dukedom can only be removed through parliament. The monarch can remove a Prince title though I don’t think it’s ever been done before so I doubt very much they would start with Andrew or Harry now.

Absolutely!

God - that's an awful suggestion. She's the last person who should get involved and have to feel responsible for this mess.

All that poor woman has done is to be present in the room when an alleged conversation involving Charles (probably completely innocuous) about Archie took place and which Harry stupidly (or maliciously) reported to Meghan. And the campaign of character assassination and hatred against her since then has been disgusting (KKKate etc). No way should she have to even think about the Troublesome Twosome ever again.

NormaMajors1992coat · 23/07/2025 10:02

I agree that any overtures from Kate would just expose her to yet more abuse from H+M and their supporters. I can’t see any of the Waleses having anything to do with them, and if there is negotiation to be done that requires one of the RF it would be William who does it. Or maybe Anne in her special hat haha

100% agree. I also hate this very common idea that if there’s a family split, it’s the women at the heart of it and if there’s a reconciliation, the women are to be the peacemakers.

CoffeeCantata · 23/07/2025 10:36

I hope and trust that the whole Wales family is 100% DONE with Harry and Meghan for ever and ever, amen.

There is absolutely nothing good in it for them. H & M need more fuel, supply, fodder, royal adjacency etc - that's all it's about, and the Waleses don't need to give them any headspace.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 23/07/2025 10:42

Can you imagine Meghan’s Daily Mail sad face if Catherine tried to meditate, “I tried so haaaaard but Kate was so mean to me I collapsed on the floor in a pool of tears”

Profhilodisaster · 23/07/2025 10:45

I just can't see W letting M&H anywhere near Catherine and as for her being the peacemaker after all the abuse she's received beggars belief. This should be between H and his father only.

I agree, leave Catherine out of it.

And it’s not actually clear whether Catherine was the one present. Scobie’s described the other person as the Princess of Wales. At the time of the alleged remark, that would have been Camilla, albeit she didn’t use the title. That little shit Scobie’s, having let the info slip “accidentally”, denying having anything to do with it and nonsensically blaming an innocent translator, has never had the courage or courtesy to explain who he was talking about. It suits him for everyone to believe it’s Catherine, because he bloody hates her, as is clear from Endgame and his characterisation of her as a Stepford Wife.

At no time have Harry and Meghan done anything to correct the record (the leak of the identities can only have come from them) or protect Catherine from their rabid, hate-filled fans (for what Harry has described, if it is at all true, as unconscious bias, spoken by someone other than Catherine). And there are plenty of rumours that both of them are on SM, posting and knowing full well what is said in their name. And even if they aren’t, they have set themselves up as the champions of anti bullying on line. But I reckon their concern stops at the threshold of Montecito and wanting to quash all their own negative press.

So why on earth is it incumbent on her to welcome them back in? I view the very suggestion as suspicious, because it is setting her up for a fail. If she doesn’t get involved, she’s the bitch with the key to reconciliation who won’t use it. If she does get involved and they come back, the rabid SS will see this as an admission of wrongdoing on Catherine’s part. If reconciliation fails or if they betray the RF again, they will find a way to blame W&C for their “coldness” and “envy”. It’s a no win.

It was filmed as part of series 1 but no date for release has been announced.

CoffeeCantata · 23/07/2025 11:09

Also - why would Catherine want to invite back the two venomous snakes who tried to destroy her, and whose main problem in the RF, it seems, was that she took precedence over them?

She would have to be crazy, which she definitely is not. And when people have a brush with serious illness it makes them re-evaluate what’s really important in.their lives and I bet putting an ocean between herself and the Sussexes is one of those things!

garlicandsapphires · 23/07/2025 11:37

Of course it would be good if they could all reconcile, and I hope that they do. I can imagine W being the least likely to forgive but hopefully he still loves H deep down, despite his egregious behaviour.

PoppysAunt · 23/07/2025 11:43

How could they ever trust him though?

I can’t see how it could happen.

I also wonder what the Sussex Squad would do? They believe Catherine is an arch- racist and a mean girl and H & M have never put them right on that score, have they?

I wonder how things would play out with that horde of vengeful harpies if there was a reconciliation.

HonoriaBulstrode · 23/07/2025 11:53

It started in Finding Freedom. It's full of little digs at Catherine. One or two could look like unfortunate choice of words, but cumulatively it's spiteful.

My2cents1975 · 23/07/2025 12:20

100% agree with @RandyRedHumpback

I would wager good money that Catherine was NOT present at all for the alleged conversation...and that it was KC3, Camilla (who kept quiet) and H.

It was KC3 likely advising H on how to deal with the media given that US media, specifically CNN, had speculated about George's skin tone, hair colour and eye colour.

What – and who – will the royal baby look like?

KC3 chose (unwisely) to communicate with H&M after the Oprah interview and it was in this infamous exchange of letters that Catherine's name appears. It is reasonable to infer that KC3 was explaining the context of his conversation with H.

This entire debacle has nothing to do with Catherine. Both she and the Middleton family hosted H over years and not one word leaked to the media. Catherine's family warmly welcomed H. In return H unleashed vicious vitriol attacking Catherine and her entire family via proxies Omid and the SS.

H owes the Middletons an abject apology. The Middletons owe H nothing at all.

What – and who – will the royal baby look like? | CNN

Bets are already being placed on the appearance of the royal baby – the future king or queen of England.
