I've never started a thread here before, but I thought some people might be interested in this take on the story by a PR podcast I listened to yesterday (started listening to this podcast as I know very little about PR!).

It would be good to know if any of the resident PR people agree.

Why would she ‘blame or humiliate herself’? I doubt she’s going to do it to get the approval of royal family supporters. Plus even if she did (again, why would she?), those people will just move the goalposts onto something else she needs to do for their approval.

I've often wondered whether the cringeworthy mock curtsey was a cack handed attempt at self-deprecation. But very out of character if so. Harry's face was a picture.

That was a response to a specific post. You’ve taken it out of context and made it general- which it wasn’t. You need to look at the context and not try to twist my words.

Very ill-judged if it was. Pps have speculated before on MN as to whether they both (or possibly H) realised it wouldn’t land well and may have wanted it edited out, but NF knew it was absolute gold (especially H’s mortified expression).

But I doubt it. Neither of them are self-aware and Megs probably thought she was being adorably cute.

Harry seemed genuinely crushed that he lost that case. I can well imagine that it has created serious financial issues for him. C may have paid the bill just to end embarrassing issues down the line, which is fairly disgusting in my view.

Very much doubt Charles is giving Harry any money, it would already be front page news if that was the case. Let’s not stoop to believing online trolls making up lies for their monetised YouTube channels. Seriously how the hell would these randoms know anything, considering they jumped on the royal content making band wagon about 5 minutes ago?

I wonder, if Charles has settled that bill, whether there were conditions attached 🤔

IIRC the duchy accounts showed that the Sussexes had been supported for the first year after they had left the UK, even though Harry had said on Oprah or Spare (I forget which) that his father had cut him off. I’m sure someone with better knowledge will be along to correct me.

Ironically, Harry and Meghan are the worst offenders for misinformation and lies about themselves and their circumstances. Their truth is not necessarily the truth.

Yes - I probably wasn’t clear - ‘make herself humble’ would have been a better way of saying what I meant. I was meaning that it’s not in M’s character to be humble and self-effacing, which I think is supported by clear evidence.

The only mention of financial support I’ve seen is that it was allegedly up to summer 2020, nothing subsequent. Would love to see any other (reputable) sources confirming financial support since then.

I know. When you are in those situations, you have such a heavy mental load. You really don’t need anything else to add to it.

They were executive producers on the Netflix doc. If they wanted it out, they could have had it taken out.

I guess you will have to wait for the next lot of accounts to be published. I don’t think anyone is claiming this as truth, just musing on the latest rumours.

He's rumoured to be an entertainment lawyer - calls himself "Entylawyer". He does have a YouTube channel and guests on other's podcasts every now and then. But most of his focus is not on the royals but Hollywood stars. In fact he's said that, until Meghan entered the RF, he didn't get any royal gossip at all.

And basically, all because Meghan wanted more fodder (and maybe even a quick photocall?) from being present at the deathbed of the longest-reigning and most famous monarch/Head of State in the world.

M wanted to piggyback on history, and what M wants, M usually gets. Imagine being told 'no'! How selfish of the RF.

I couldn’t believe these shenanigans at the time. OS’s tweet making it very clear that while Meghan now wasn’t going to Balmoral, neither was Catherine. The Queen had just died and her priority was making sure nobody thought she was inferior to her sister in law 🤦‍♀️
