Another poster (was it you, Randy - I can't remember who to credit!) also suggested that, during a cut to Oprah's face, Meghan mouthed the relevant name to her. If so, that's awful.

Not me, but that would makes sense of Oprah's reaction.

Lol so typical, presented with the facts thay your a hypocrite for having a pop at me for attaxkojfnposteds whilst silently letting bigwilly attack on me go by and you say nothing.

An unexpected, but welcome, insight into the Sussex Squad mindset

Weepixie · 15/07/2025 13:42

Harry’s on his way to Angola to do another minefield walk like Diana did.

He should be okay considering he dances through minefields everyday of his life trying to remember all of the lies him and Meghan have told.

It was me. It was so obvious what was going on but it had missed out on being mentioned in the public domain afterwards.

I always wonder whether Harry didn't want the racism issue out there or overblown (because I reckon he made it up/talked up a nothing burger), but Meghan absolutely did, and in this case, they were briefing against each other

That's entirely possible, @RandyRedHumpback, but as was shown Meghan only had to make the incendiary allegation for it to be seized upon by some as if it was written on tablets of stone, only to be made to look foolish by Harry's later comments

Admittedly he could have done that "correction" much sooner, but why spoil 18 months' worth of outrage in his wife's favour while he watched folk attack the institution he detests and hoovered up the prizes for confronting them?

Very true. Then again, maybe he was hedging his bets about whether to include it in one of his money making schemes, the Netflix doc or Spare. Only backtracking after his lawyers advised him not to mention it, perhaps? Or maybe he was warned about libel from BP. Again, did he only back track because he was blind-sided by his friend, Tom Bradby, bringing it up? He didn't seem prepared for the point being raised in that interview. He certainly looked like a complete fool and hypocrite.

That super safe country that has better security than a walk in Central London.

Oh fgs. I wish Harry (and Meghan to a degree) would stop trying to do cameos of Diana’s actions. A pale imitation of what she did looks just like what it is. Why doesn’t he find something of his own to champion? My eyes cannot roll back far enough 🙄🙄🙄

Vespanest · 15/07/2025 14:00

I tend to have sympathy and scorn in equal measure for Charles. He cannot fulfill the two roles of Head of state and form a relationship with Harry. They are not compatible as Harry switches narratives to suit the audience. The knight of the realm who saved his wife from the institution he once served with its racist nation whilst calling everyone meanies for not understanding it wasn't them it was the media all along who were the bad guys. Charles has opened the door wide for the biggest dragged out Invictus games ever. If only we could have Anne as monarch. Not surprised at all this was nothing but a PR stunt to launch another re brand.

How do you know they have money? Are you their accountant? and it’s laughable if you think selling pots of jam will keep the lights on at the Montecito McMansion, she ain’t Hartleys.

BRING BACK THE LAUGHING EMOJI!! "She ain't Hartleys"😂

Ah - thanks, Weepixie. Yes - it certainly makes sense when you see it.

Amidst all these points we're discussing in relation to the campaign against Catherine, I've remembered something which genuinely makes me sad.

Tom Bower says that when Meghan appeared on the scene, the Middletons invited Meghan and Harry to their home, and actually suggested that Doria might like to stay there before the wedding itself. Both invitations were declined. If true (and Tom Bower has never been sued or had his claims questioned by Meghan and Harry) it's very sad. I can well believe that a 'normal', friendly family like the MIddletons would have warmly welcomed Meghan as Catherine's sister-in-law, only to discover that she had no intention whatsoever of being on friendly terms.

It's bound to irritate those who remember Diana, and go right over the heads of those who don't!

As I said at the time, following such an allegation the Palace would almost certainly have invited them both to back it up, and we'll never know whether the answer was credible or just more deflection of the sort so often seen elsewhere

The Palace know though, and it's possible H&M handed them yet another card

I agree. They actually do the cause a disservice.

jeffgoldblum · 15/07/2025 14:11

This will actually be the third time Harry has done this! , 2011 ,2019 and now , before anyone is concerned the minefield was cleared before each walk.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/07/2025 14:13

Not for the first time I'm confused ... surely Harry's already done the landmine walk thing?

Nothing to say it can't be revisited of course, especially if PPs are right about the FCO dissuading other nations from inviting them and causing embarrassment, but I'd have thought the images would lose impact with repetition

Edited to add I cross-posted with you, @jeffgoldblum; so not just the second time but tthe third Confused
Now I really am wondering if anyone else will have him ...

Notchangingnameagain · 15/07/2025 14:18

Surely they can never truly reconcile?

Yes, they can have a surface level relationship, but the trust has been broken and cannot be repaired.

There is no way on earth they could ever allow Harry/Meghan to be privy to any kind of information other than it is sunny outside or it is raining.

Weepixie · 15/07/2025 14:21

yes he has but he’s doing it again to support a particular charity he’s involved in. Meghans nog going with him because it’s too dangerous and the charity agreed no British press would be present on the occasion.

Thistooshallpsss · 15/07/2025 14:23

I’m wondering like previous poster about the long term future for invictus as I understand it’s partly funded by the mod and only certain countries are invited. It’s not a case of any wounded ex serviceman imagine if Israelis or other mid eastern people were involved what about Ukraine? With all the political instability and dangerous situations a high profile competition for certain countries might not be useful diplomatically. Also everyone is short of money and we already have the excellent para olympics for everyone to participate in. If it were not for it being Harry’s baby I doubt it would have much attention or possibly money. I can see that what started as a good thing could become an unwelcome thing that’s all about Harry. And that’s not to take away from the competitors at all.

I believe the IDF have been invited to participate, although I don’t know if this still stands 🤷‍♀️

HiRen · 15/07/2025 14:26

Meghan went first and solo in the Oprah interview because as a duo she is the main character. She calls the shots. She makes all the decisions. She deals with agents / reps / producers / executives. She tells him what to do and where to go and what to say and who to talk to. He’s just a supporting character doing as he’s told. The race claim wasn’t meant to be what the interview was about. It was a throwaway remark intended to underline the degree of discrimination she was the victim of. Hence his backtracking.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/07/2025 14:32

Ah, thanks @Weepixie; that makes sense
I thought charities operating in Africa weren't quite to Harry's taste any more - Sentebale, Africa Parks, etc. - but hopefully HALO will be the exception, though I do still wonder how much impact's to be gained by yet more minefield-walk images

I’d much rather him be going to sort out African Parks but that doesn’t give him the optics he wants. Sickening.

@JSMill
I also find it hilarious that H feels he can dictate the terms of a reconciliation.

Do we know this is happening?

I think we can be fairly certain that the idea of sharing diaries didn't come from the Royal Family!

I urge MM2 (Meredith) to think bigger. H&M will both share their online diaries with those of all the working royals. Transparency makes for good relationships!

They've been nothing but trouble in the past. And they will be nothing but trouble in the future. They need to be kept at arms length and not trusted an inch.
