I post this more in hope than experience but I would be really interested in a proper discussion about those who are fans or supporters of them , those who aren't and indeed ( of which there are many ) , those who are indifferent.

So - I'll start. There was an interesting post on another thread which said M&H come over as David and Goliath , standing up against "the Institution" - my paraphrase.

No spitting , no fighting , mind the furniture 😂

I think the RF stance on Harry and Meghan is perfect. Ignore, don’t comment, don’t engage. Don’t invite to anything as it will only be used to monetise, create narcissistic fuel. Don’t criticise as it will be used as a narcissistic pit play.

I agree.

it’s not a case of “others do it too” so much as it seems to be worse if Meghan does it!

Has it ever occurred to you that the real issue is actually that theres proof that Meghan has done it and constantly!
but none that the other royals have!

and I don’t believe that m and h telling us that they have as actual proof, when they lie about everything.

So who else has done it, then? Which royal family member other than Meghan has engineered having two tv hosts leaving their roles?

CurlewKate · 05/07/2025 15:03

I think another thing that fuels the fans is the absolute refusal of some to ever think for a single second that M&H might be right about something. By the law of averages she must be right sometimes. And why should she have to put up with a snake like Piers Morgan taking her apart on Breakfast TV because she dented his ego?

MadeInGrimsby · 05/07/2025 15:04

Well yes !
why is everything so murky with this pair?

Oh, god knows. It never seems to stop, does it?

Because no celebrity, and no Royal family member should be able to control or censor a free press? I would have thought that was obvious.

Because he's an employed commentator and it's not up to her. She's not entitled to have zero criticism. If he broke broadcasting rules, fine. Criticism of behaviour? Nope.
It happens to every other royal, celebrity and politician. I don't understand why the fans think that she has some sort of special exemption.

Dented his ego?
cultivated him , used him , threw him aside and ghosted him when his usefulness was no longer needed.

exactly like she has done to others who helped her .

I think that as a father the King is doing the right by not fanning the fire and making what must be a heartbreaking situation any worse. Despite everything that’s gone on he’s still allowed to love his son and miss him.

Piers himself may not inspire much sympathy, but when you add him to the list of those in the UK that Meghan had been cultivating but abruptly dropped as soon as she met Harry (Millie Mackintosh, Lizzie Cundy, Gina Nelthorpe Cowne), it’s an indication of how she has treated several relationships as entirely transactional.

But her relationship with him was private surely? It was him took it on to the TV. And he had been doing it for days-she only complained when he accused her of lying about her mental health.

So MM is the only person in the public eye who is above criticism? The presenters on GMB love to rip into politicians etc. What PM said is pretty mild compared to some of the interviews I have watched on GMB.
It turned to be a pretty bad decision by ITV not to back PM. The GMB ratings have never recovered from his departure.

My point exactly!
I don’t particularly like him , he’s a weasel but here her treatment of him was awful and part of a pattern of behaviour , where she treats human beings as disposable objects to further her goals !

I note as well that because he’s a man the narrative and language is tailored to suit .
“ dent his ego “ “ obsessed “
he’s a married man but people are making it sound like he’s a spurned lover!

I imagine he’s angry and hurt ! And unlike the other people who have been at the receiving end not someone who is going to let it go silently!

Exactly. And I imagine the 55,000 complaints about what he said had something to do with it. But of course that won't fit the narrative that Meghan somehow got him the sack! 55,000 complaints is unprecedented and it is the most amount of complaints that Ofcom have ever received.

As for Sharon Osbourne, I actually watched her trying to defend herself against racism (for which she has previous form) and it was awful.

MadeInGrimsby · 05/07/2025 15:31

Meghan is not above criticism. I don't like H&M's agenda to limit the press because of their egos.

Extiainoiapeial · 05/07/2025 15:33

he’s a married man but people are making it sound like he’s a spurned lover!

He acted like a spurned lover. He was literally tweeting about her every day incessantly, how wonderful she was, how he loved her in Suits, how she was the best actor ever. He was completely obsessed with her to the point of vaguely stalkerish behaviour spanning dozens and dozens of tweets. (He has of course deleted all this now, what a surprise)

She met him for a drink. She was probably unnerved by his behaviour, she cut contact.
On mumsnet women are actively encouraged to do this if they feel uncomfortable. But of course it's Meghan, so she will be criticised for that.

All though you are technically correct it did have the most complaints , it is interesting to note that Ofcom investigated and found that it was not in breach of conduct. So piers would not have been sacked for that alone.

No. Meghan has never been criticised for deciding not to be friends with Morgan.
That hasn't happened.

I’m sorry but where is your proof for this statement?
she approached him and wanted him to make her visibility bigger in the U.K. , which is what he did .
and I will add !
this narrative arrived after the event!
she didn’t cut contact ( ghost him) until after she was fully enmeshed with Harry .

Really?

There is criticism on here now! Saying her treatment of him was awful and she treats human beings as disposable objects to further her goals. So, I don't understand your post.

She was quite within her rights not to be friends with him.

JSMill · 05/07/2025 15:41

Pretty convenient that PM’s tweets have since been deleted. His story was that she kept asking for a drink, he agreed and then she met H and ghosted him. That’s a pretty similar story to other people who M temporarily befriended when she was trying to set herself up in London. She uses people, then dumps them. I don’t think PM was hurt. I just think he could see how someone like that was plainly unsuitable for royal life, which demands loyalty.

Then she had a date with Harry and decided he wasn't needed to make her famous anymore. Harry could do that.
