As per the DM, we are told Meg is using Fairwinds Estate winery for her rose. Sounds nice.
But a Reddit user has discovered, that Fairwinds winery is just a brand under the umbrella of Wine gift shop. They do corporate gifts and print on demand. Oh Meg, as ever

How long until the ‘shucks, oh golly. Oh gosh, you guys!’ Video Meg puts out

Fairly soon I imagine!

Sold out 🙄. Obviously we don't know how much stock she had but this is such a weird way to try and make money . I'm wondering if it's all just an ego boost and nothing to do with money.

I really think that it is.

IcedPurple · 01/07/2025 16:56

MrsLeonFarrell · 01/07/2025 16:52

Apparently they start processing immediately which is why you can't cancel. But if that's the case why do they over sell?

Yes, the people who ordered the apricot spread also had the money taken from their accounts even though the product was out of stock. A lot of businesses don't take the money from your account until the order is dispatched.

IcedPurple · 01/07/2025 16:57

AtIusvue · 01/07/2025 16:54

Maybe it’s all about creating hype to sell on the business?

But surely if someone was going to buy up the brand they'd do a serious investigation into how the business is run and how much is actually sold? They're not going to buy a brand based on nonsense any of us here can see through.

Uricon2 · 01/07/2025 16:57

@tataler interested in your views on this sell out, you didn't think it would.

Not great it won't start shipping until July 9th. Why so long? The Megbot on Celebitchy who was planning to serve it on 4/7 will be disappointed.

Profhilodisaster · 01/07/2025 16:57

jeffgoldblum · 01/07/2025 16:52

Don’t rush , I have a feeling that even if it tastes awful, we won’t hear anything but how fabulous it is.

The thing is, taste is so subjective. You could give me the best white wine in the world and I can guarantee that I won't like it, anything sweet and under £3.99 for me .

MrsLeonFarrell · 01/07/2025 16:57

AtIusvue · 01/07/2025 16:54

Maybe but wouldn't they need to sell a lot of stock before anyone would consider buying her out. And they'd need great reviews to stand out in a crowded market. I don't see evidence of either of those

AtIusvue · 01/07/2025 16:58

The fact that they aren’t even shipping until the 9th. So 8 days until the product is even shipped.

Says to me, that the labels will be printed and slapped on the bottles in this time.

Which shows its utter bull about being sold out. It’s a print on demand winery!

One day in the not too distant future her sales figures will find their way into the public domain and all will be revealed. Of this I’m sure.

But it says they don't ship until the 9th July! In a world where Amazon Prime exists, this is an insane time lag. I just bought sonething on Ebay ( not Ms jam!) and I have had an apology email already saying they can't post until the 3rd and that was already in the listing!

I have to say this is a bonkers way to do business especially with the jam cancellations. I thought that this would be a bigger run, but no. So random.

RandyRedHumpback · 01/07/2025 16:59

tataler · 01/07/2025 16:40

Yup.

I’ll do a review if anyone wants.

Unless you are a wine expert and/or someone who can do a comprehensive taste comparison with at least 5 other similar products at different price points, what valuable review can you offer?

I was reading the FAQ, maybe it's different for the wine but really what a shambles the whole thing is.

That rumour I posted about her wanting a billion dollar buyout seems to be getting more factual by the moment!

tataler · 01/07/2025 17:03

Squaddies are buying 12 bottles, a mutual got 36 😀

They do know Meghan doesn't give a shit about them. Yes?

RandyRedHumpback · 01/07/2025 17:04

IcedPurple · 01/07/2025 16:55

I'm sure it would be affordable for lots of people if they felt they were getting a good product.

But why buy multiple bottles of a relatively expensive wine that has not been reviewed and you don't know much about the provenance or other relevant details? Being sold by someone with no background in the field?

Is this something you often do, or just for your duchess?

Exactly. We've paid much more than £30 for bottles of wine over the years, but we've had a special reason to do so, and been able to evaluate the bottle's worth/provenance/quality before handing over our cash.

tataler · 01/07/2025 17:06

Beautifulcreatures2 · 01/07/2025 17:03

Four bottles

If I didn’t personally know about 25 folks who’ve bought multiples then that’s debatable lol

I'm sure that's what she's after but it's all so fake, unless she genuinely has sold thousands and thousands any savvy business person will look at the books and see exactly what she's up to.

Yeah. The vino is about £22, which is expensive but hardly exorbitant. Lots of people would be prepared to spend that for a bottle they know will be worth it.

But spending that amount - plus delivery - on multiple bottles of a wine of completely unknown quality and provenance, which you won't get for about 10 days, is just cult behaviour.

Are you a squaddie ?

anotherside · 01/07/2025 17:08

Don’t get the obsession with this couple. Is their business doing some terrible social or environmental harm that deserves condemnation like hundreds of other significant companies? No. Are they exploiting homeless people in Bangladesh. No. Are they using slave factories? No. On the other hand, are they incredible inventors or entrepreneurs? No.

So why the obsession? Ok - they’re marketing bang average “lifestyle” products at top dollar to fools with money - well that’s a pretty sound marketing strategy and one that’s shared by literally millions of business around the world. What’s the big deal.

Does the Pope live in Rome? Is the Chief Rabbi Jewish? Do bears make their toilette in forested areas?
