As per the DM, we are told Meg is using Fairwinds Estate winery for her rose. Sounds nice.
But a Reddit user has discovered, that Fairwinds winery is just a brand under the umbrella of Wine gift shop. They do corporate gifts and print on demand. Oh Meg, as ever

Tataler could be interesting.
Admitting they are excited to buy the generic wine just to support M because they love her.

This is her target market. Serious fans who will buy any shit with an As Ever label, who don't care about the product. They are actually excited to buy generic shit just because its Megs. The question is how many of these people are there out there to support a business based on this?

I can't imagine the mindset as I think she's embarrassing and generally don't buy celebrity endorsements anyway, so I presume it's a small market, but we don't actually know.

I guess Ms plan is she's trying to find out.

Unfortunately Tataler is not interesting as they are not explaining their reasons for admiring her so we can understand the mindset of buying the marked up generic stuff and instead are just winding everyone up.

Can I request we don't argue with that poster anymore it makes the thread very dull.
I come here for analysis not to read squabbling.

LaMarschallin · 30/06/2025 17:47

Maybe she could have just had the caption "Pour me..."
I like a good homophone.

CoffeeCantata · 30/06/2025 17:16

Right back atcha, tataler!

You do fit the “type”, as you say, of pps who defend Meghan in the face of overwhelming odds. I hope there’ll be some kind of medal in it for you! 😇

For me, “lol” is usually the giveaway.

Yes it’s most definitely a certain ‘type’ who are rabid fans, and yes the lols always give it away, Meghan appeals to that certain demographic, I do feel a bit of pity for them as they will spend money that they probably don’t have much of on her mass produced rubbish, but then a fool and their money are soon parted as they say.

Vespanest · 30/06/2025 17:53

producing the wine on what would have been Diana birthday knowing it would get linked and knowing the legal government requirement of

GOVERNMENT WARNING: (1) According to the Surgeon General, women
should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of
birth defects. (2) Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to
drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.

Harry would be screaming at anyone who'd listen if someone else did this and linked it to his mother.

I see 'As Ever' as more of a vanity project than a serious business. As you say, it's aimed at the cultish megafans who will buy any ol' shyte if it 'comes from' Meghan, even though they know perfectly well it's overpriced generic white label rubbish. But that market is small. Or at least it wasn't enough to draw consistent large audiences for her podcasts, and the NF show was only a modest success.

Having a few 'drops' of random products which sell out immediately may make Meghan think she's a 'female founder' but she's not going to make serious - or any - money that way.

CurlewKate · 30/06/2025 17:59

Butteredtoast55 · 30/06/2025 17:42

I think there's meant to be a full stop after 'the pour'. I assumed a pour is a fancy way of saying the official launch of a wine. But what do I know?

”A pour” is American for a measure. Still doesn’t make sense, though….

jeffgoldblum · 30/06/2025 18:00

If rumours are to be believed, she was hoping a big business would buy her out like her make up friend!
sounds about right , thinking she’d get a billion dollar buyout because of her name! 🙄

jeffgoldblum · 30/06/2025 17:36

No I don’t get it either!
all this “ one more sleep “ rubbish is terribly infantile.

One more sleep. Several more sheep without critical thinking faculties.

Meghan needs to decide who she wants to be in the marketplace. Does she aspire to being

Goop? - carefully curated, small batches of luxury items at huge mark-up prices

Newman's Own? - industrially produced products in huge quantities at supermarket prices.

At the moment her PR is Goop - all the malarky about picking Californian fruit and perfecting the recipe in her kitchen. But the product is white label, drop shipping from a factory 2000 miles away.

But given her sell outs - she seems to want us to believe that her business is selling small batches of industrial jam - which doesn't really make sense.

Schools are out, mums out at work and didn’t switch the wifi off.

I think it's the shift turning up for work before the wine launch!

TatianaTwinkletoes · 30/06/2025 18:31

Apologies if this has already been posted. It's suggesting the rose wine is a blend of 3 different grapes and ' it is not known what price Meghan will charge for her new rosé but Fairwinds sells its rosé for $36 a bottle.'

IKnowASecret · 30/06/2025 18:31

I pay scant attention to the Royal dramas but I'm astonished how much flak she gets for doing normal mundane celebrity type stuff. Her website says the goods are sourced from third parties and it's not illegal to create a fancy brand around something legally procured and sold. And as for her so cruelly releasing wine "on Diana's birthday" (previously the frothers claimed it was on the anniversary of her death)... it could have easily been spun as a lovely gesture, raising a glass on a birthday is normal. Yes a drunk driver was involved in her death decades later but so was a car crash and it seems as if Meg went for a simple car ride on any vaguely relevant date that would be painted as equally insensitive. She really can't win. All the videos and pictures of her supposedly scowling or pushing in really don't show anything of the sort, at best someone in a very public setting trying not to fuck up!

The marketing, like the runny spread is very subpar.

Per Spare, maybe all the comms people are responding to social media messages while crying at their desks, so there is no-one with enough time to run a cohesive branding campaign.

Let’s also not forget that paul Newman gave all proceeds to charity!

No. I thought it was a typo.

But what about her freakish eye for detail ??

It's this ^ that makes no sense.

And we're meant to pretend not to notice.

I don’t think she/Netflix are using production factories for existing brands. So they can only use smaller windows to produce their own.

ARO was launched during the Diana awards. No trademark, no business nothing but an announcement to be associated with Diana.

Wine launch on Diana's birthday, despite Diana being killed by a drunk driver.

All the vibes in the world won't change reality...the pair are ghouls dragging a corpse around for profit.

Oh god that is really quite the thing isn't it 😬

Profhilodisaster · 30/06/2025 19:40

The fact remains that the aseverofficial instagram showed quite clearly that there was a factory involved in the jam making process

Both of the above quotes were made by the same poster, so which is it ? Factory or no factory?

Mind you didn't they sack the comms team recently? Probably a bunch of summer interns.

There is no 'comms team'. The whole project - the out of focus pictures, the illegible labels, the contradictory branding - is all the duchess' work.

smilesy · 30/06/2025 20:07

Serenster · 30/06/2025 17:30

It would be odd if she did. Wine is made in bulk, and it’s quite clear from the vineyard’s website that they have a lot of stock of rose, and are already selling it under more than 50 brands.

As an aide, I don’t get the pun that I presume is in the instagram caption: “Just one more sleep 'til the pour Rosé joins the party tomorrow. Cheers!”

Anyone?

I think there is a full stop gone AWOL between “pour” and “Rose”. So “one more sleep until the pour. Rose joins the party tomorrow”. Makes sense but sloppy proof reading if so 🤷‍♀️

To be blunt. It’s not for you to understand.

I’m just a massive fan of an endlessly smeared woman.

something you know in advance is just a relabelled ok-level product?

not tested by anyone, just pronounced. this is what i mean, for shame and shame.

This is a downright bizarre response.
