Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

Merching kids is always wrong. It is completely irrelevant that their grandfather is the King.

They wanted the Royal life with all its perks but they didn’t want to walk behind W and C .

Harry was happy to do so until |Meghan came along

thanks. but you can't see the children, so what is wrong with that?

Slapping a heart emoji over the face or asking the photographer you got to follow you around to carefully angle the camera so as to show only certain angles of the children's faces does not mean you 'can't see them'. Of course you can see them.

The 'teaser' shots of kids is a very old and jaded trick.

What was it Omid Scobie tweeted after the birth of Archie? Their children wouldn't have titles and would lead private lives?
Now I'm also hearing that Harry wants them to be working royals in the future.
ps whatever happened to Omid Scobie?

He's writing a drama for Paramount about a young American PR woman who goes to work in the comms department of the British Royal Family, causing a clash of cultures and befriending a prince. I wonder who that's based on.

😂😂
I'm sure it'll be nuanced and accurate!

The children are being promoted. They're being photographed and filmed for social media. That's the parents' choice, but a birthday trip to Disneyland doesn't really need to be shared unless you want the likes.

Or unless you got a free VIP trip in return for promoting the theme park.

She thanked disneyland in her Insta post, which would suggest this was some kind of promotional deal. So yes, she is using her children for commercial purposes. And no, putting a heart emoji over their faces does not change this.

Living in a cold damp castle and having your life mapped out for you by officials, including an endless procession of public engagements that you can’t choose to opt out of, isn’t the prize people think it is! You have much more freedom as a wealthy private citizen.

Neither KP nor BP are cold and damp, as I understand it. I doubt whether Frogmore Cottage was.

Buxusmortus · 07/06/2025 12:03

As Harry believes his American, mixed race wife has numerous traits of his dead mother, how much pressure is he going to be putting on Diana's actual granddaughter to be the living embodiment of her. Poor child.

OctopusFriend · 07/06/2025 12:04

What about that charity/ campaign they were involved in about protecting your children from social media? Didn't they make various pronouncements about protecting your children from sm?

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 07/06/2025 12:05

DappledThings · 07/06/2025 11:45

I'm no defender of them at all but yes, all the suggestions that she didn't give birth to them are baseless conspiracy theories.

Yeah. I fully believe the kids were birthed by her. There were a few videos and photos where her bump was a bit off but it’s easily explainable. The only thing that has caused me to raise an eyebrow was the twerking video but I’m under the impression that she did that post birth and maybe used a bit of padding 🤷🏼‍♀️ Her waist noticeably thickened and her face became fuller and rounder whilst her limbs remained slim when she was pregnant.

Saying that I wish she had adopted or used a surrogate. I think British inheritance laws need updating to reflect modern day life. It’s ridiculous that a daughter, adopted child or child born outside of marriage cannot inherit a title in this day and age. And don’t get me started on losing your line in the succession due to your personal faith.

They never lived in a castle, cold damp or otherwise. They weren't that important.

They did maybe one or two engagements a week, so hardly 'endless'. In return they got a life of great comfort, prestige and status without any of the responsibilities the King or heir have.

I can see how the restrictions might be a bit much for some, and if they wanted out that's up to them. But personally I think it's preferable to posting 4 year old videos of yourself wiggling your bum for clicks.

Weepixie · 07/06/2025 12:09

You could tell at the engagement interview what kind of person she is I was utterly baffled by the “she’s a breath of fresh air” comments

I thought she was more like a bulldozer on speed. 🤣

Of course you can see them because it’s pretty blooming obvious it’s not two of the seven dwarves.

threesocksmorgan · 07/06/2025 12:11

wow the ire over a few harmless pictures, you don't see the childrens faces(obviously thats wrong according to non fans) yet how very dare they share them.....
to be that obsessed with a couple the non fans insist they don't hate is weird.

You think having adoptees and surrogate children as Kings and Queens is the way to go? Adoptees can still have titles the Marchioness of Aberdeen adopted children kept their titles but they cannot be in line to the throne for what I would think were obvious reasons. One of the European Royal Family’s used a surrogate recently no big deal but they’re removed from the line of succession.

Apparently he's moved to LA, @OctopusFriend, so will probably be circling like a shark hoping for the next "collaboration"

We no longer hear anything from him about the rest of the RF though, and while I don't pretend to know I'll always believe they got the lawyers in to frighten him sh1tless after he named Charles and Catherine as the "royal racists"

Edited to add that yes, they've had a lot to say about protecting children from social media and might even claim that the kind of shots they post qualify.
As with everything else they say though, it just adds up to what suits or gets them the most attention at the time, so can be discounted

🤣🤣🤣 What I thought was strange is in the photo I saw, M was the only one wearing mouse ears. Isn’t it weird for a grown up to be wearing Mickey ears but not the children?

They had the most incredible opportunities, didn't they? Senior Commonwealth Trust roles, travelling widely, meeting Heads of State and all sorts of incredible people, movers and shakers. Having a top table at the nation's events.
Having doors opened and opportunities presented that most of us could only dream of.

Weepixie · 07/06/2025 12:19

As even she knows she can’t go as low as option 2 she has little choice but to go for option 1. There’s nothing else left

The advert in the men’s magazine was very suggestive and raunchy, as well as tacky. And the role in 90210 where she acted out oral sex on the driver of a car from her side on the passenger side left nothing to the imagination either.

Then there are Harry’s own comments on her sex scenes in Suits when she showed them to him so he knew what was out there.

Absolutely.

I'd rather be the spare than the heir any day of the week.

Ah. Interesting. I hope that did happen. What a vile thing to make money from, unsubstantiated accusations of racism.

Superhansrantowindsor · 07/06/2025 12:21

I have no problem at all with them sharing pics of their kids on SM the way they have with faces covered BUT I do have a problem with the hypocrisy. I genuinely thought when they stepped back they wanted to retreat to a country house and work in the same way other minor royals have - perhaps running a charity of some sort. What they are doing is the exact opposite of what they said they wanted. Considering their enormous wealth they don’t have to do what they are doing. They clearly crave attention of any sort. They knew what response they’d get from the dancing video and now this. They are desperate to be talked about and to be in the media spotlight.

BobbyBiscuits · 07/06/2025 12:22

It's pathetic for them to pretend they're being private by placing emojis above their kids faces?
Ridiculous.
Like someone saying Bianca Censori wasn't naked at the Grammys because they blurred out her genitals.
You're still selling an image and it's the antithesis of privacy.

Performative narcissism. It also feels like a last-ditch attempt to change her public image in light of the massive Netflix and As Ever failures. They must have teams of PR people trying to turn the Sussex brand into something profitable. The new strategy is clearly to give people what they want to see and go down the Kardashian/influencer route.

Honest opinion is that their entire brand is not salvageable any more. Both H&M as individuals (As Ever, Sentebale etc) or both of them together have literally become the global brand for ragebait. They generate a ton of attention no matter what they do, but never in a positive way. Their entire brand is now built upon triggering people and pitting people against each other. No matter what themes they try to slather over it (lifestyle, charity, family, jams), H&M will forever be ragebait.

I hope the kids don’t suffer as a result of their parents behaviour. It’s ironic that Harry said he wanted to give his kids a life away from the goldfish bowl of the RF but I think he’s giving them something much worse. My prediction is they are going to end up like the Beckham kids, aimless and always in the papers but with zero respect from people. Maybe the kids won’t mind but it seems so at odds with H&M’s original assertions that they wanted better for their kids than pap shots and headlines.
