Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

Using your daughter's birthday to get a freebie merching holiday. So classy, so regal. So very, very private.

Plus there's the unintentional comedy of those's children's faces ending up like the naughty bits in a charity nude calendar; always strategically behind some prop or structure.

They wanted to be the new Kennedy Obama Clooney Gates couple; they've landed on reality TV influencers who are too old to carry off being reality TV influencers.

I think Meghan will be ok with this; it's her level. I actually think Harry will be ok with it, too. Army, good works, intrepid Harry was a skilful Palace machine invention.

Wonder what the SS word of the day will be? Cute? Relatable? Joyful?

I am seeing the word cute a lot on TwiX

Bontonbonbon · 07/06/2025 10:12

I think they were only held back before by the hope that they could force their way back into the RF and have the half in half our deal they wanted. Now the security case has run its course they can stop pretending and be themselves. Which is good really. I hope they have a nice life as just Meghan and Harry.

Honestly, if they’d just stop with the faux royal stuff and got on with their lives (in private or not) I would like them a lot more.

Yes, they were hypocrites in their freedom era. But maybe they can just let it all go now, accept they are not ‘royal’ anymore and find another niche for themselves that doesn’t require selling their kid’s face for likes.

OctopusFriend · 07/06/2025 09:38

What else can they make money from? Pictures of fruit and veg and hostess skills with dried flowers aren't going to get them the money. Royal gossip has dried up.
It's got to be the kids really, although they seem to focus on Lilibet for some reason. Maybe Archie is the Spare.

No one else with the same millions is considered poor. No one says how is Billie Eilish managing (apparently she has about $50 million). The only reason this pair need to keep making money is because they’ve chosen a vacuous life of extravagant celebrity. Even as ex royals they could have lived very comfortably on that kind of money. No private family of four needs a 16 bathroom house. Extravagance is a costly way to live.

OctopusFriend · 07/06/2025 10:13

What was it Omid Scobie tweeted after the birth of Archie? Their children wouldn't have titles and would lead private lives?
Now I'm also hearing that Harry wants them to be working royals in the future.
ps whatever happened to Omid Scobie?

I’ll never like them but I agree now they might as well just drop the royalty stuff and be the lowbrow people they really are.

Yes, they could have had a home on the Windsor estate and an apartment at KP. That wouldn't drain the millions. However, obviously that kind of life wasn't what they wanted. Rather it was the California celebrity lifestyle.

DappledThings · 07/06/2025 10:19

They get vilified for not showing their children ever as people continue to claim she was never pregnant and they are stunt children occasionally hired. Then they get vilified for the occasional set of photos where tjey are still obscuring their faces.

I really don't know why that attracts so much angry response. Not sure why it attracts any response at all.

Spectre8 · 07/06/2025 10:19

Lol this board and its double standards when you'll criticising them to death hownyou never see the children and they never go anywhere and now they never spent time with them and what awful parents they are blah blah and now they share a few moments of them out and about with their kids and its omg look at them monetising their children, why are they sharing their, how dare they blah blah

Privacy doesn't mean never seeing anything it meant for them as they said having more control over what is put out there and they do have that now. It's their choice to share pics of their children and not having paps taking pics as happened to w&h when they were kids on their holidays. Or like how paps took pics of Kate topples son her holiday when she thought if was private place.

Plenty of people share pics of them on holiday whether their account is public or private.

And whoever said they did it to get a paid trip to Disney.. where is your proof of that? Or are you yet again making stuff up.

Nagginthenag · 07/06/2025 10:26

They may have more control, but they're using the control in a really odd way. Most of the pics they've recently released look more like pap shots than family photos tbh. If media intrusion is so bad, where are the pap shots of the Wales' children?

Plus in all the time they lived in the UK as a family, and on subsequent visits, neither they nor the children were papped.

Some of this isn't very clear, but do you really think this is the same as a private couple sharing holiday snaps, really?
Also, where is the criticism that "you never see the children"?
Odd

planetfall · 07/06/2025 10:32

How is this "marching"?? Also, I don't think the press or public outside of the UK and maybe some of the old-style Commonwealth countries even thinks of these kids as "the King's Californian grandkids"; they are minor celebs in their own right just like Prince Albert's various illegitimate kids scattered around the world who still get papped every so often on the ocasional slow news week. If anything, being Diana's grandchildren is probably more interesting to the unroyalwashed masses.

They don't need to show their children at all.

They are no longer working members of the RF, the children have no role. The laws in California are very strict, paparazzi photos of children are not allowed to be published. Plenty of bigger celebrities manage it - I've never seen the Clooney children.

They are intentionally putting their children's images out into the public sphere, and they are not really obscuring their faces, there's enough been seen for people to have a pretty good idea what these kids look like.

Why? For engagement on a SM media site. Meghan has gained 600k followers. So she gets more $

Unsafe and hypocritical from a couple who preach about SM being unsafe and dangerous for children.

They wanted the Royal life with all its perks but they didn’t want to walk behind W and C .

Which means, unless they do become billionaires (or even half) they are going to have to keep coming up with ways to make money to fund their rather silly lifestyle. It would be like me winning the Euromillions this week (£200mil) and still feel like it’s not enough and I’d better start making jam or something. It just all seems rather pointless, but maybe that’s because I have zero desire to be a celebrity (just don’t see the appeal) and I felt pleased because I got my biggest lottery win in many years this week (about £4.50😁).

No they don’t.

No it hasn’t.

Not on MN. Such excessive exaggeration is unnecessary unless you are working to a pre-written ‘script’. Nothing would surprise me about this bizarre situation these days.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 07/06/2025 10:59

I hate hate hate seeing obscured images of kids. Either show them or don’t show them. I am not interested in seeing their headless bodies, the back of them or an obscure zoomed out photo of them running across the garden. I respect that they want to protect their kids identity, but it’s simple. Don’t show them at all. If you are that desperate to show off your holiday snaps put them on a secret Facebook/Instagram page for friends to see. I am not that bothered about their kids that i would be ‘satisfied’ with one of these weird obscure shots they keep constantly releasing of them.

That being said, I think Meghan looks great in those photos. She always does casual smart so well and rocks a shirt and jean combo.

Rant over 🤣

OK, the crazy conspiracies aren't here but I don't get why they attract such anger for a few holiday snaps. I'm no particular fan of theirs, but I don't loathe them either or think they've done anything particularly terrible.

A bit cringy for sure but nothing offensive.

Mylovelygreendress · 07/06/2025 11:08

It’s the breathtaking hypocrisy. Saying they wanted their DC to have private lives and no titles . Harry saying he worries about the Wales DC .
These aren’t simple holiday snaps but blatant money making ones .

A few holiday snaps? Ok, this is from a couple who have made many pronouncements - for years - about privacy and press intrusion. Criticism of the press at some length I believe that's why they said they went to California. Fine. Now they share many images of very private family moments and get the DM headlines. Their choice, but hypocritical, right?

Yes, Harry's criticism of how W&C raise their children, yet this is far worse.

pilates · 07/06/2025 11:11

Yeah if all else fails, roll out the kids.

Bollindger · 07/06/2025 11:12

I think it is so obvious.
Meg didn’t get to become a princess.
That was ok as Catherine wasn’t one either.
The she saw the 3 children became Prince and princess, so she knew all she had to do was refuse titles for her babies and once Charles became King the prince and princess titles arrived.
Catherine got the princess title when King Charles passed on his title to his son.
Suddenly Meg is mother of royals , wife of a royal but common.
I mean twerking in a delivery room, Vicky Pollard or what!!!!!

DappledThings · 07/06/2025 11:13

See I get why they might make people roll their eyes and say they are behaving rather embarrassingly. I don't get why anyone cares enough about them to get angry.
