Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

See I get why they might make people roll their eyes and say they are behaving rather embarrassingly. I don't get why anyone cares enough about them to get angry.

Who is angry?

Those two will get their come-uppance when Lilibet realises that she is an actual princess and could have been living in a castle and been part of the Royal Family if only her parents hadn't been such idiots. I can only imagine the tantrum!

Exactly my thoughts her tackiness and he’s desperation for a life long partner who wasn’t terrified for the contestant press invasion. The irony of him marrying a wife who adores attention! Couldn’t make it up!

People sound pretty riled up about it here. Maybe it is just detached commentary? But people sound really pissed off with them.

It's just the exact opposite of what he claimed he wanted, and what they both claimed about public life.

Really? I think people are commentating and making valid points for the discussion. You're obviously free to counter these points, but just claiming that people are "angry" is quite a stretch.

@snughugs I always thought the engagement day photo shoot and the interview showed who she really is. The insincerity of her gushing words, her body language and her deceit at pretending she didn’t know who Harry was. None of it boded well and it looks like he either makes a run for it or he’s stuck for life

I agree. I saw what she was like then, but my family and friends thought she was great( changed their minds pretty quickly). It was the simpering way she hung onto Harry's arm and looked adoringly up at him, as if she was a young naive woman, when she was a confident divorced woman in her thirties that made me think it was all so contrived and fake and that she was a scheming person.

Thedom · 07/06/2025 11:25

And a full on team of videographers and photographers on hand to photograph their family trip to Disney for their daughter's 4th birthday, and then selling it on to People magazine. A full circle pivot to selling out their kids and private family time, it is quite funny to witness their downfall continue.

The kids are bringing in the clicks, for the moment, at least.

Living in a cold damp castle and having your life mapped out for you by officials, including an endless procession of public engagements that you can’t choose to opt out of, isn’t the prize people think it is! You have much more freedom as a wealthy private citizen.

There's certainly quite a lot of glee coming from posters talking about "witnessing their downfall" and calling them idiots having tantrums.

I have no particular feelings either way about them. But to feel that excited about perceiving them as somehow failing has to come from a place of a degree of feeling strongly negative about them.

They're just bland and unimportant.

100 per cent. She was fake as fuck. She knew exactly who she’d set her cap at and I bet she couldn’t believe her luck when he fell for the shmooze x

They could live happily on the £5 mill Meghan was worth before marriage and the £30+ mill in Harry's trust funds. Plus he gets £100k for each speaking gig I know no one wants her but if that's not enough perhaps stop buying awards and wearing designer clothes in the Hertz showroom or a Jamaican 3rd row cinema seat? Most of us let alone ex Royals could live very, very in fact beyond comfortably on the money they already have. Those children will also have school trust funds from the family and they rinse their supposed 'charity' foundation for 95% of its donations. Plenty of money by any standard. They really don't need to make SouthPark a reality show.

Yep, they’re very wealthy and don’t need to earn any more money. Look how people moan when a lottery winner gets 20 or 30 million- we hear “nobody needs that much, why not make it so it’s split between more winners”. Yet the greedy super rich always want more, and few people question their endless endeavours to get richer instead of retiring and enjoying what they have.

If it isn’t greed in H&M’s case, it’s insatiable self-promotion and attention seeking. I reckon it’s a bit of both.

😂😂
I think now they're just determined to make the headlines and they don't care how.

I think she may even be in a state of frenzy.

He’s just lolling about the house channelling his inner Dylan from The Magic Roundabout. Although he looked even more bizarre than she did in that twerking video.

snughugs · 07/06/2025 11:40

@DappledThings Always going on the defence with these two calling folk “conspiracy theorists”. I think it’s fair to say they are a pair of chancers with no boundary recognition.

They are using the kids and I personally think there’s something really suspicious about the births, but they caused all that speculation. We don’t have a witness dr to testify to the births causing speculation. They’ve slowed down that twerking video and medical professionals are saying “no way”. They’ve slowed down bump is literally bouncing up and down separate from the body. Whatever the truth and with Harry complaints about being accused of James Hewitt’s son (which was definitely untrue). Harry and meghan should have a statement or better provide us with a dr willing to say she gave birth and clear this serious constitutional matter up, there’s just far too many inconsistencies she could be just trolling her trolls but she has a duty to her children and the United Kingdom to clear this matter up.

Meghan and Harry left the Royal Family writing a statement that they would do a half in and out whilst merchandising their wares and turning up to the glam Royal events. They were told no and had a major strop calling the Royal Family racist and slagging them off. They’ve now got nothing to lose and so the kids will be used much more now. It’s a car crash. Yet Sussex fans will continue to say “aren’t they relatable and fun”. If they were trying to like Diana’s trip to Alton Tower, Diana’s did not get the park closed and mingled with other children whilst there. Meghan it’s been reported on some sites had rides closed for the visit far above what most celebrities get. It’s totally tasteless. I’m aghast they’ve still got folk defending them.

I agree and didn’t blame them for leaving but I was one of those people who thought they were going to live a private life and come back for important royal occasions.

User67457345 · 07/06/2025 11:44

Performative narcissism. It also feels like a last-ditch attempt to change her public image in light of the massive Netflix and As Ever failures. They must have teams of PR people trying to turn the Sussex brand into something profitable. The new strategy is clearly to give people what they want to see and go down the Kardashian/influencer route.

Honest opinion is that their entire brand is not salvageable any more. Both H&M as individuals (As Ever, Sentebale etc) or both of them together have literally become the global brand for ragebait. They generate a ton of attention no matter what they do, but never in a positive way. Their entire brand is now built upon triggering people and pitting people against each other. No matter what themes they try to slather over it (lifestyle, charity, family, jams), H&M will forever be ragebait.

Yes but they’re clearly exposing them to the Disney narrative where princes and princesses are supposed to stand for higher ideals.

I agree at some point when they’re older they’ll come to realise the weight of heritage of those HRH titles and wonder why they’ve been left out of that legacy. Same with any child with mixed heritage, they always have some part of them that relates to the parent’s culture even if they’ve never known it.

It could go either way but it’ll be interesting to see what the spin is in ooh… around 11-12 years time!

Zippedydodah · 07/06/2025 11:45

It smacks of desperation to me. They’re now grabbing any opportunity available to exploit the children for money which is appalling behaviour imo. All the rants from them about privacy are a joke.
Cheap, tacky and distasteful.

I'm no defender of them at all but yes, all the suggestions that she didn't give birth to them are baseless conspiracy theories.

Growing up with a narcissistic mother is deeply traumatising. A huge number of kids go NC as adults.

To be fair, some of that is not solely a reaction to Meghan and Harry, it’s a reaction to the (checks calendar) … five years now of their supporters on Mumsnet reacting vociferously and aggressively to posters who did not agree that their trajectory after walking away from the royal family (because they didn’t get the half-in, half out that they wanted) was not that likely to result in them being billionaire philanthopists and global leaders. The world was their oyster, we were told. All doors would be open. Any contrary views were pilloried….
