Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

If the Heyer accuracy is indicative of the rest, I think we can safely ignore anything further from the source in question.

Perhaps rather than allowing a perpetual derail into whether or not it is OK for Harry Mountbatten-Windsor to swan around expecting unprecedented and undeserved special treatment, we ought to go back to whether the unfortunate Markle progeny are liable to be merched at any moment.

Yes I agree. Although before we get back on track, can I share a screenshot of a card I saw on Moonpig?

Ah. Thanks for the explanation of the name 😆

”Slimming down the monarchy” is not the same as republicanism though, is it? And you do seem to be in favour of more money being spent on Harry’s security 🤷‍♀️

Special protection also look after politicians, not just the Royals, so 28 days notice would seem eminently reasonable to allow for rosters to be adjusted as well as appropriate arrangements to be made if Harry wants to visit

typo and meant to add that I’m not sure Harry seems more human for showing his emotions when they mostly consist of “waaagh” 😆

Edited

28 days notice is also for the benefit (not really) of the employees - if rotas need to be changed and leave cancelled - then 2 weeks leave needs 4 weeks notice.

It's to fit in with employment laws. But Harry doesn't give 2 shits about the plebs, he just feels they should drop everything to be ready for him.

Well you’re a defender of them so I guess that makes two. 😁

I used to be quite the fan of Harry year’s ago but that’s when he seemed like a nice, jolly chap. I had no particular opinion of Meghan back in 2016. I thought she was lucky (😲) to land him as meeting princes is not an everyday thing, even for an actress.

Now I think they’re just very strange, very odd people.

3 I'm in as well.

sualipa · 11/06/2025 19:07

Serenster · 11/06/2025 16:19

But I guess that just as you know better than the security experts, you know better than 3 High Court judges too?

(Being a pedant here) one High Court judge, and then three Court of Appeal judges, including the Master of the Rolls, the most senior civil judge in the judiciary!

When they see the crest behind them and notice the Rex vs Any One they know which side their bread is buttered on !

Sharenthood: Why We Should Think before We Talk about Our Kids Online

Leah A. Plunkett wrote a book on Sharenting in 2019 which has a lot of information on "commercial sharenting" where parents monetise children. I included a link to MIT Press which has the open access edition of the book.

Leah Plunkett is Associate Dean for Administration, Associate Professor of Legal Skills, and Director of Academic Success at the University of New Hampshire School of Law. She is also a Faculty Associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University.

You do know the Divine Right of Kings (also Queens) ended when Charles I was executed, don't you? It was a while ago.

Charles does not have the sort of power some appear to think he has. He is not Edward I. However, easy to put out the fallacy that he is out to Get Harry (as so many people and organisations are, according to...Harry)

It's pretty obvious that many people (UK citizens included) paid zero attention to the BRF and the concept of a Constitutional Monarchy until 2018.

This is an article from yesterday's USA Today newspaper about a 4-year-old tiktok influencer and the concerns around her public visibility at such a young age.

Ms. Shirley, 4, is a TikTok sensation. Some fans are worried, and her mom is speaking out.

A quick look at the Facebook page, it's really disturbing

Actually, I'd love to see how Edward I would have dealt with Harry. Didn't he jump from his sickbed to tear out the future Edward II's hair in an utter rage?

And Harry had it bad with a single sausage.

I would agree - others of their followers may differ - but their choice - they did it. If that's how they want to be perceived - their choice. It got them I think from another post another 600,00 sign ons and huge viewing figures & their PR person said they want to appeal to younger people. Have at it I say , Fill yer boots. But don't expect it to be universally applauded.

& just maybe think how A&L are going to feel seeing this when they are older. But again just how I would approach it. They differ and that is their right.

Basilisk Not-Multimillionaire-Motecito-Resident-Aiming-For-A-Billion Stare. 😂

Uricon2 · 11/06/2025 19:37

All this appealing to young people stuff. H&M, mates, you're in your 40s. There is nothing sadder than an older generation thinking that youth has the vaguest interest in them, other than to mock them if they try to emulate current trends. At best it will be "how sweet".

C'mon we all did it. 😂

I always like seeing the ridiculous lengths Harry and Meghan’s supporters have to go to to keep convincing themselves that their favourites are in the right. And they never seem to be conscious of how ridiculous this makes then look. In this case, some of the most senior and respected judges in the UK are looking for the King’s favour. Apparently. 🙄

BasiliskStare · 11/06/2025 20:34

@Uricon2

C'mon we all did it. 😂

In the Basilisk household DH once did some Floss dancing with a Usain Bolt point at the end. He was 60. It was in our kitchen. DS , & I both laughed - it was ridiculous & funny. 😁 But in the Basilisk household what is done in the kitchen stays in the kitchen. I still giggle now. Maybe generational but it never occurred to me to film and post it - nor indeed to DS who was early 20s. It was a family moment. But we aren't the sort of people people are interested in. If your way of making money is spilling out your moments on SM maybe different. It would not be for me.

@BasiliskStare 😂

I once told a grandchild that I really liked Eminem and why. It was appreciated.

Had I started publically rapping that I was the "real (Uricon2) Shady", I don't think it would have been, quite rightly.

CathyorClaire · 11/06/2025 20:47

And the role of Commonwealth ambassador, given the individual history of many of those countries, is understandably contentious for someone who is mixed race.

Yet both Henrys were content to take on the presidency and vice presidency of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust.

A role incidentally that saw Harold permitted to pimp the under fire BetterUp on the website and that saw 98% of its donations spent on staff salaries under their regime.

@Uricon2 & this is where we need the laugh emoji back.

I had some kudos points from my niece and her friend for going to see the Killers at the O2. At no point did I take a selfie. But maybe at 60 - odd I can't watch the stage and see my phone at the same time ( varifocals) .😂 No - It was a happy evening & my life doesn't depend on telling everyone else what I am doing. I didn't even take my phone - ha ha.

I know it is different for those who are trying to make a living from SM type things. I'm not completely daft.

The video apparently got 42M views. That's huge numbers. She got 600k new followers from that. That's really not good. She still hasn't broken 4M followers (someone cleverer than me broke down her new follower numbers and it was equal numbers per day added = not organic growth).

You need to translate those views to followers. Otherwise it's just people rubbernecking a car crash. Plus you have to remove fake accounts from the numbers.
