Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

Wow @Serenster that is so much more revealing than she meant it to be. I believe that was written with a very specific audience in mind- Harry. You can see how she campaigned to snag him and it is quite hilarious to pick it apart now. She played a role, but not very well because many people did not fall for it.

What would have been the issue with her going to the BAFTAs after her visit to Kigali? Other major A listers do it all the time. Or was it that she was trying to paint a picture of herself as too sensitive and generous to even want the attention and jewels. ‘I’m just so socially aware that I couldn’t even accept those diamonds… because I have eyes on a bigger prize’.

MrsFinkelstein · 08/06/2025 09:49

I'd be fascinated to know @Serenster what high end jewellery company wanted to use her.

The BAFTAs are huge, there is no way a C list actress, who's TV show career was ending would have refused to be flown to and be seen at the British Oscars.

It would have been the biggest awards show she had ever been invited to at that point. She was never even at the Emmys before.

There is no way she turned down a legitimate invitation. I call total BS to that little story.

I agree. This is part of staging a narrative that she was desired, successful, caring and ‘almost’ unobtainable. A ‘Rules’ girl through and through.

I think that part of her blog post is absolutely made up.

The Tig post was from October 2016. Meghan travelled to Rwanda in January 2016. This was before she met Harry. The 2016 Film BAFTAs were held on 14 February at Royal Opera House. Leonardo di Caprio, Kate Winslet, Alicia Vikander, Cate Blanchett, Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore attended. Why would on earth would a US TV actress, largely unknown in the UK and working on a cable tv show, be invited, gowned and be-jewelled as a freebie for the British Film BAFTAs?

It doesn’t sound very likely at all. One advantage I guess of posting in October about what you did in January is that it’s too long ago for anyone to check.

She's just simply lying, isn't she? As in, making up an entire story from scratch?

In addition to everything you say, these events are planned months in advance. No way would you get an invitation with just a few weeks to go.

I guess it's just about possible that someone dropped out at the last minute, but even so, they would easily find someone other than a D list TV actress based in Toronto to fill that coveted spot.

Not to mention that she would have raced to Kigali airport at breakneck speed if there was even the whiff of a chance of getting near the BAFTAs. At least make up a plausible lie, Duchess Sussex.

Meghan has removed the "Happy Birthday Lili" part of her message on the Disneyland IG post.

Brittany from RNN also pointed out that the 2 Mickey toys seen in the clip - Lili has a Happy Birthday badge on hers and Archie has a 1st visit badge on his.

I'm outing myself as a massive Disney geek here, but you're telling me that you've lived just along the road from DL for 5yrs and you have never once taken your 1st born son to it? He's 6yrs old! That's just weird.

Oh, and according to the SS script the Wales' have never once been to a Disney resort. How do they know????

Where is the icon Meghan that sugars have been selling us all these years? The one who apparently is this ultra feminist philanthropist who is whip smart and ready to stand up for world injustice.

It was just a face she was wearing to slip through the bars of the RF, collect everything she needed for fame and then gallop off into the sunset to be famous in the way she wanted: California Famous.

Just a reminder of what Meghan published on The Tig in 2016, about a week before her relationship with Harry was made public (I know, what a coincidence! Just before the world finds out who she is she’s out there burnishing her philanthropic credentials…) . I think the pendulum has swung quite a bit further to the excess side now she’s picked the Hollywood life….

It was just last year that I was in the van heading back from Gihembe refugee camp in Rwanda. I was in the country as an advocate for UN Women…. Driving back on the dusty roads that day, now back on the grid of tech and Hollywood, I received an email from my managers with a request for me to attend the BAFTAs. I had never been and had always romanticized the idea of it – and per the email, a high end jewelry company was going to fly me in, get me dolled up in the fanciest of gowns, and I would travel straight from Kigali to Heathrow, to the makeup chair, and immediately onto the red carpet.

My brain, heart, spirit couldn’t shift gears that quickly – from the purpose-driven work I had been doing all week in Rwanda, to the glitz and glamour of an award show – plus the pomp and circumstance that comes with it. “No,” my heart said. And it wasn’t a soft whisper to myself; it was a lion’s roar. … My gut said, “No.” While my two worlds can coexist, I’ve learned that for me, being able to keep a foot in both is a delicate balance – because while they are not mutually exclusive, guiding my heart though the swinging pendulum from excess to lack of access is sometimes challenging.

What a lot of guff.

And what would it matter if they haven't? It's not everyone's idea of a fun holiday.

And the Wales children have had, and will have, opportunities that the Sussex children will never have, due to their parents' decisions.

Serenster · 08/06/2025 10:56

Oh, and according to the SS script the Wales' have never once been to a Disney resort. How do they know????

😀 at Mymanyellow.

I agree, how would Meghan’s supporters know where William and Kate take their children on holiday? And secondly, why would they go to Disneyland in any case? Even the Paris park isn’t exactly a trip down the road when they have plenty of other theme parks very close at hand a short drive from Windsor (as an aside, I’d be surprised in the children’s school hasn’t taken the children to Legoand on a day trip as part of the endless “enriching” activities they do to fill in the last few weeks of the school year…all of mine have been with their school!).

And secondly, in the nicest possible way, Disney’s USP doesn’t really offer the Wales’ children much. We know they travel to real deserts (eg Jordan), real Caribbean beaches, real French villages, visit real castles, see real Princesses wearing tiaras and have attended a real coronation. The rides they can experience at other parks…

I still do no understand why people laid these two as being mould breakers. They are the most whiny, basic people. They voluntarily live in a huge mansion, serve no one but themselves and wear wall to wall beige. Beyond their royal titles they are mid to totally boring people with nothing to offer anyone.

Gotta admit they’re very amusing to watch!

Yes I said this yesterday. Living on the doorstep why would you wait until Archie was 6 before he went to it? Is it all Lili driven ?

Golden child vs black sheep dynamic which is hugely common in narcissist families. Considering that Meghan claimed she was suicidal while pregnant with Archie and his birth coincided with Megxit drama and covid, it's very likely they didn't bother as much. And like all narc mothers, having a daughter is innately more special for them because it's like a tiny version of themselves they can dress up and parade around.

Uricon2 · 08/06/2025 11:38

This will sound snarky but I imagine arranging a full on Disney stay (as opposed to a quick visit to eg Thorpe Park ala Diana and the boys) for future King William and his future Queen, with future King George and his siblings, would be more of a logistical and security challenge than a couple of days for 2 non working Royals of lesser status and their kids. Also, the latter actually live 2 hours from their nearest Magic Kingdom, in the same country.

Also, as @MrsFinkelstein said, we actually don't know if the Wales kids have been or not, because if they have it wasn't publicised for likes.

Meghan lived in fantasy land and before marrying Harry she spouted so much. This was her undoing - after marriage the interest in her was naturally high and suddenly people found things didn't add up. What was overlooked in the Hollywood melee was suddenly checked on and found to be not quite making sense. She has been caught in her own lies time and time again.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 08/06/2025 12:04

I idly wonder what Suzanne Collins makes of this. The Hunger Games are absolutely on point when it comes to the PR story, and the use of children as a PR weapon.

Why do I get the feeling that Lili is their favourite child and Archie is just kind of…there.

Archie is six and never been to Disneyland before despite it being just down the road from where they live, but Lili gets to go for her fourth birthday. Harry has missed three of Archie’s birthdays but never missed any of Lili’s. Then the way they go on about her blue blue eyes and hair long enough to sit on, yet no gushing about Archie, the girl dad top etc.

I have no doubts that they love Archie but the way they present Lili and kind of ignore Archie portrays this image of favouritism.

OctopusFriend · 08/06/2025 12:22

Yes. Her name is very significant, too. Archie? Run of the mill, several in every class.

threesocksmorgan · 08/06/2025 12:25

wow a new low. maybe Archie has never been interested in Disney. not all kids are.
but lets just bash their parenting. how they dress their children/the children will need therapy/favouritism... all based on one photo.
I always thought children were out of bounds.

CreationNat1on · 08/06/2025 12:25

Because Diana was put on a pedestal and the Queen, and Doria is the favourite of Megan's parents.

They are over compensating against the patriarchy.

They really ought to be. It's very hypocritical of H&M to use them like this, to promote their brand on social media, and use them for likes.
It's the very opposite of what they have always claimed. I don't know why their supporters think it's ok.

This is sadly true, slinkiemalinkiey, and the uninformed stance of some fans was developing even then - as seen when folk queried what all this "humanitarianism" added up to, and not just failed to receive a reply but were slammed for even asking

And so it's carried on, with lie piled upon lie and an ever descending spiral of desperation. Odd to see folk still insisting that this somehow suggests happiness, but there you go

I don't know why their supporters think (using the kids) is ok

Edited to add I'm not convinced many do think it's okay, @OctopusFriend, but perhaps - having adopted an already extreme position in their fandom - some find it difficult to accept that (like all of us) they made a mistake?

No one is coming after the kids 🤷🏼‍♀️

But when their parents invade their privacy and put them on social media, talk about them and their private medical history etc, and show what looks like clear favouritism towards one of them, then yes, we are allowed to comment on their parenting. If they had kept them private and out of the spot light like they initially said they would, no one would have noticed all these things and be critiquing their parenting in the first.

I say what I see. It looks like they have a favourite child!
