Happy 10th birthday to Princess Charlotte.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released an image via Instagram to mark the occasion. Photo taken by Catherine (apparently using an iPhone).

Apart from the ski-ing, the biking (don’t you remember William caught on video angry at a man who was stalking his family in Norfolk as they went on a bike ride?) we’ve also seen both William and Kate confidently play football and hockey and tennis respectively, not to mention all the outdoors sports they have happily taken part in on visits. Goodness knows what an outdoorsy family would look like in your world!

i differentiate between sporty-which they definitely seem to be m- and outdoorsy, which I don’t think we’ve see them being. Unlike Charles and the late Queen, for example. It’s not a criticism- we haven’t seen them enjoying needlework or hot air ballooning either!

Why lower myself? What did I say that was wrong? Is she not leaning into the whole tradwife aesthetic with her brand and farm to table life style show? Does she not make jam? How is that a bash?

It seems that unless you are gushing over her the stans will come and accuse you of bashing.

I just think it’s pathetic to make digs at Kate or Meghan, especially on a thread about a child’s birthday photo. It’s ridiculous. I avoid other threads because of it but it seems now you can’t even avoid it on a thread like this. People need to grow up.

Well two people felt like it did so maybe you are the problem?

On this occasion I’m not.

Recollections may vary 🤭

Fine, call me a stan, it's obviously derogatory no idea what a stan is

You steer the thread you started in whatever direction you want.

I've liked reading the nice posts about Charlotte but we've obviously moved past that, and it's Meghan time again

I've wracked my brains at the connection between a 10yo girl in the outdoors with a nice picture, and a 40 something woman selling goods in the US. Nope, don't get it but I'm just a stupid Stan. 😂

You crack on with the new chapter in the thread you started!

It’s curious that the only posts you’ve contributed to this thread mention people mentioning Meghan. You didn’t comment anything about Charlotte until you had to point out someone mentioning Meghan. And you didn’t call out someone bashing the birthday girls mum which was a few post before your first 🤷🏼‍♀️ Are you not an equal opportunities sort of person? Or do you only defending ‘bashing’ of Meghan?

Hiking with little ones can be quite tricky. Now Louis is 7, they can probably do more involved walks than a trip to the woods or larking about on the beach.

I really loved the guys on the bikes who came across Charles out for a walk around Balmoral. There was some bothy chat.

Not a lot of good me being snide if I have absolutely no idea in what way I’m being snide!

I can confirm that 🤣🫣 Honestly so much better now the youngest is 6. I preferred it when I could carry them on my back.

Oh do give it up OP. I said she was a gorgeous girl, gorgeous photo or something.

Posters are allowed to lurk on threads you know, they dont have to post continually. I even went to look at the jack pike jacket to see if they do adult sizes as I ramble!

I am sorry I am not fulfilling your criteria as the sort of poster you want on your thread 🤣

Vitrolinsanity · 03/05/2025 16:21

I think she looks a lot like Sarah Chatto. Lovely picture.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 03/05/2025 16:22

I do get the impression that Charlotte is very outdoorsy and sporty. She looked like she was in her element doing archery at the Big Help Out coronation event.

It’s fine, post what you want. I’m just calling a spade a spade.

Scouts? Is that outdoorsy enough for you?

RandyRedHumpback · 03/05/2025 18:12

Oh @CurlewKate didn't you say you are involved in scouting on another thread? Didn't you know that Catherine is the President of Scouting UK?

Yes, I do know she is. Not sure of the relevance, frankly. You don’t have to be “outdoorsy” to be a Scout. And I am still finding it hard to understand why saying somebody looks sporty rather than outdoorsy is in any way negative!

Can you explain ‘outdoorsy’. Are you born this way? Is it an acquired skill?

RandyRedHumpback · 03/05/2025 18:39

She's a keen gardener @CurlewKate . She created a sensory garden for the Chelsea flower Show a few years ago. Does that count as outdoorsy?

I can try. But first-could you explain why saying somebody appears to be sporty rather than outdoorsy is even remotely negative?

Ha ha ha ha

CurlewKate · 03/05/2025 21:47

OK. I will ignore the bizarreness. I have two children. One is sporty. Give him a bat or ball or any form of sports equipment and he will make a decent fist of it. He is very good at a couple of sports and will give others a go. The other is outdoorsy. She likes to walk, to wild swim, to ride, to be outside as much as she possibly can. In her ideal world she would only come inside for bedtime. Tricky for someone who works in London!. Pretty sure they were born that way. Neither is better. They are just different.

But hey. hahahahahahaha.

My2cents1975 · 03/05/2025 22:27

Charlotte looks like her father and her paternal grandmother! She also looks happy and healthy. I hope she had a wonderful birthday with her family and friends.

foreverblowingbubbless · 03/05/2025 22:46

I always see the Queen when I look at Charlotte. She looks such a confident secure happy child and what else could you wish for anyone.
