Favourite Royal outfits

Would anyone like to join me in my attempt to unite the board and discuss our favourite royal outfits (before it enviably turns into another bun fight 🤣)

I’ll start with my favourite Catherine outfits first…

I love this outfit

I've always loved this picture from the South Pacific tour in the early 80s. That colour is fabulous on her, and Philip's shirt is fascinating with all the extra pocket bits around the bottom.

I love this one on Kate, so pretty.

I also adore the late Queen in the Norman Hartnell dress Beatrice wore as a wedding dress. I didn't like the sleeves Beatrice added or the less full petticoats, I loved it the first time round.

Kate’s fashion can be super hit or miss for me, sometimes her outfits age are too matronly for me - but she nailed these looks

• love the more modern look of the shorter dresses, she has such great legs (not to sound creepy)
• her maternity looks are great and the extra weight from pregnancy really suits her
• royal blue is definitely her colour

This was great on Megan too

My favourite royal fashion moment will always be the Queen's EU hat.

Also, one of my favourite Anne looks. Love the casual styling and the attitude, this would have been so modern and relaxed for a royal

Some more looks from Kate I liked

• More of a modern silhouette a la the white shoulderless dress really suits her
• Turquoise is definitely her colour, very elegant look
• Also love the straight hair on her - very sleek
• Again these more modern suit silhouettes of the jumper/trousers/coat combo suit her
• Personally a big fan of the pale yellow she wore to Prince Harry’s wedding for some reason!

Anyway I’ll stop for now, don’t want to clog up the thread. I just love fashion! 😄

I love Catherine in teal (any shade of blue really).

Meghan looks good in yellow but this dress is the only style that I think looks good on her. Her arms look great in this photo.

I agree about that yellow dress on Meghan. It looks great on her I was going to post a pic of that sundress Catherine wore in Jamaica, but you beat me to it. I like this look on Meghan too.

My favourite look of Meghan's was the ripped jeans at the Invictus Games when they first went public and it was all a lot less self-conscious.

She doesn’t mean that dress I don’t think. She means the strapless one posted further up the thread with the birds all over - I think you’re thinking of the Oprah interview dress, which did look like baby spit up or something.
I agree about the turquoise dress, that was very beautiful.
She also wore some nice pregnancy dresses, there was a short black and white one, and a very pretty pale pink one.

Wallis Simpson was the most stylish and other than real fur which was acceptable at the time, all her outfits are beautiful

Her blue wedding dress is gorgeous.

I used to think some of Kate's outfits were terribly frumpy for a young woman! I think her choices have improved vastly over the last number of years. More structured, more strong colours and less of the twee patterns etc.

I've always loved Lady Sarah Chatto's wedding dress

I love that one too, and I have the (now sadly defunct!) Links of London earrings she was wearing the first time she was seen out in this dress.

Shame I can't see the earrings on that photo, I'm off to Google further!

Hard to beat Margaret when it came to the “princessy” look.

I remember seeing this dress at the V&A Dior Exhibition and it's much darker in RL than appears in this picture.

I think that was a later occasion - think she first wore the dress at something Rose Hanbury was with her at?

ETA - no she was wearing different earrings with Rose, scrub that!
