Favourite Royal outfits

Would anyone like to join me in my attempt to unite the board and discuss our favourite royal outfits (before it enviably turns into another bun fight 🤣)

I’ll start with my favourite Catherine outfits first…

It is also notable that someone has jumped on to a dormant thread, which was largely about royal outfits over the years, to have a personal dig at a member of the RF 🙄. And yes, the style and beauty thread is the one
to go to for clothes critique 😄

I really loved Catherine’s outfit for Garter Day today. Something deep within me is saying it shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. That shade of pink is also a gorgeous colour on Sophie. Camilla always manages to look so regal in these types of costume.

I wonder when Catherine will become a Lady of the Order of the Garter?

I get Kate likes a re-wear, but that gopping skirt should have never seen the light of day again.

She looks so much younger her with her hair down.

The outfit has grown on me the more she wears it. I think Sophie will be made a Lady of the Garter before Catherine, assuming they are willing to wear those hot heavy robes. They both seem too sensible to say yes.

Sophie and Catherine were the picture of elegance today. Just lovely.

Tbh, I am not a big fan of the dress although the tailoring is impeccable. It is business on top and fun summer outing on the bottom, so leaves me confused as I am not in the avant-garde camp of fashion! Her hat is the chef's kiss of minimalist design, maximalist volume/size and her hair is magnificent.

Sophie is stunning in pink, and it is a departure from the florals, although I do like these on her. I do hope she includes a floral dress at Ascot.

I love the Self Portrait dress on Kate but don’t like the belt on it. It doesn’t need it.

Are they wearing tights or bare legged ?
When the Queen was alive they always wore tights. I don’t think they have to now.
I could never understand it - what’s wrong with women’s legs that they have to be encased in a man made material when the weather improves ? Tights in the cooler months I can understand.

Not a fan of the skirt. A fitted knee length skirt would have been better

Not a fan of the Self Portrait dress - think the skirt is a bit too light for the top - but I do think it works better for daytime wear.

Sophie looks lovely in that pink dress.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just had to add Catherine’s state banquet dress from last night. It was absolutely gorgeous and she looked stunning. I think this might be my second favourite look of hers, right after the gold Bond premiere gown!

William scrubbed up well too!

I agree. One of her best evening looks, after the 'Bond girl' gold dress.

That sparkly blue is Chrismassy without being twee. It is a state banquet after all. Jenny Packham really does design great evening dresses for her.

My only quibble is that the tiara is a bit loose. She should have worn her hair up to better secure it. But that's only a quibble.

I really do love my children but there's not much I wouldn't swap for Catherine's body and her wardrobe!!

Yep loving the new (to her) tiara getting an outing. Although I think it looks too big for her head! Practicing for a not too far away 'actual crown' moment....?

Still prefer the US visit state banquet gold frock though!

Charlotte’s dress reminds me of all my party dresses in the 80s from M&S with detachable collars.

She's going for a more grown up length. I can't see any pics of any other members of the RF attending. I like to see what winter outfits the other ladies are wearing.

(unfortunate that the Glamuse ad comes up under the pic of Charlotte. I don't particularly want to see it anywhere, but that's especially unwelcome.)

I see your Elizabeth funeral photo and raise you Philip’s. She looked so regal and elegant there, a true queen in the making.

Just a silly joke about the Windsor Uniform. Nothing to scare the horses!

The King also wore trousers rather than knee breeches with the Windsor uniform for the German state banquet.
