The royal family

Why is Sarah Ferguson at the Easter service?

I am really perplexed about why SF attends all Royal events since the death of the Queen when Andrew
is present. She behaves like his wife but she isn’t his wife. What on earth is going on? I cannot think of another situation like this where an ex wife lives with her ex husband and attends all public events with him as though they are still married. It’s bizarre.

They do it all the time.

I know. They shouldn’t.

He’s used up all his air miles going on holiday.

I was being sarcastic

And when you say “ a thing” , I’d note they aren’t young anymore. Plenty of older couples are happily together and the companionship is the glue. Not all relationships at their ages require copious shagging …

Well I’m yet to find out!

As I say, they do it all the time. But this time it would be for a valid reason. Church on Easter Sunday

Is it a valid reason to use a helicopter to go to church? Some people will say yes, others will say not. Like most things I guess.

Im so glad you said that, I was starting to get a little disappointed 🤣🫣

There must be churches near wherever he is. And perhaps he went.

Btw I’m astonished the Wales didn’t turn up - I like them but unsure what they do most of the time.
The biggest Christian date in the year, PoW will be defender of the faith sometime in future (probably sooner than we think) and doesn’t turn up with the family.
Not surprised that there’s a lot of comment on this absence.

3 holidays this year so far and counting. But he wouldn't go to the Easter service because 'carbon footprint'??!!

He couldn't go because Kate was sick/quality time with the children? It's weird that the rest of us who have to earn a living continue to work despite feeling under the weather/our spouse is unwell/children are on holiday/can't afford expensive help to manage responsibilities.

This is their actual job, for which they are paid vast sums by the public.

Extiainoiapeial · 21/04/2025 10:41

Well... given the RF (particularly William and Kate) use helicopters like we'd hop on a bus, between Norflk, Kensington Palace, Windsor - I think just this once William might have got a free pass on a helicopter to go to church.

sofasoda · 21/04/2025 10:41

@Futurehappiness one of them had the trots!

I can’t fathom why anyone would want to use a helicopter after all the recent high profile crashes. You couldn’t pay me to get on one!

Last time William and Kate took a helicopter to go to a church service (at St David’s in Wales - an 8 hour round trip by car or 12 hours by train) they were slated on here. I don’t believe there is ever a free pass where they are concerned!

Yeah I agree. A helicopter would have done them no favours. In any case, it’s overkill. Unless they are abroad, there is probably a church they could practically walk to.

sofasoda · 21/04/2025 10:47

They would likely be less criticism if they hadn't had so many recent private flights. I find it odd William has made the environment one of his things tbh.

There are fatal car accidents every day but people still happily drive (I think driving a car is still objectively the most dangerous thing most people do!). I presume people who fly regularly must trust in the maintenance of the helicopters/planes they use?

Yas! A historical debate on Henry VIII’s religious identity is what I live for.

He definitely wasn’t what we call a Protestant nowadays, he was still a Catholic in all but name. He still believed in Transubstantiation and other Catholic doctrine as seen in the Six Articles of 1539. He also executed three Papists and three Lutherans on the same day in July 1540. He just didn’t want to submit to the Pope any more. He may have been interested in some reform (probably thanks to Anne Boleyn and Cromwell) but then realised the profits filled his coffers nicely and he could still pick and choose what he liked.

History nerd and proud 🤓

Just to add if anyone is interested in learning about Henry VIII’s complex and quite frankly contradictory personal beliefs, I heartily recommend listening to these podcast episodes on ‘Not Just the Tudors’.

Their Monday - Friday house is minutes walk away from Windsor, the Wales should have been there. What a life paid for by us!
Ps I like William and Catherine & and children but if they keep making decisions like this people are going to get really fed up of them.

AlohaRose · 21/04/2025 10:48

I think neither of them should have been there.

Which underage girls are you libellously accusing him of having sex with?

Victoria something, who said that she had four days left to live the other week.

True. But the Leicester City crash and aftermath happening right before my eyes has put me off for life.
