The royal family

Why is Sarah Ferguson at the Easter service?

I am really perplexed about why SF attends all Royal events since the death of the Queen when Andrew
is present. She behaves like his wife but she isn’t his wife. What on earth is going on? I cannot think of another situation like this where an ex wife lives with her ex husband and attends all public events with him as though they are still married. It’s bizarre.

I think she's his minder, make sure his eyes and hands don't wander when the press is around.

I've often thought that

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 21/04/2025 09:42

Did Diana attend Easter and Christmas services after the divorce? Or has Autumn Kelly attended with her children since the divorce? I’m just wondering if this is common place.

Samcro · 21/04/2025 09:43

maybe sarah was there so they could look after her, hasn't she had cancer.
i do think if K&W had turned up, people wouldn't have noticed the odious Andy so much. but they are probably at home in their teeny tiny house with no staff.

No, absolutely not. Totally estranged when divorced.

I suppose it being 30 years since divorce, Sarah has had a long time honing this position. She had a few years in the US doing her thing, but it's much more beneficial to her to be part of it all, living on a royal estate, trotting along beside the wider family. And of course she has to bleat about her ex being Her rock, and the most principled man she has ever known.

StScholastica · 21/04/2025 09:45

Church is the right place for the lot of them.
Maybe they can all pray for forgiveness.

myrtleWilson · 21/04/2025 09:47

@samcro why the need for the snark there re the size of their house - that’s beneath you.

Well said 👏

Doubly well said.

because its often mentioned that they live in a 4 bedroom house with no staff.

I like to see Fergie. Always squeezed into something too small, gurning away. She’s like a mad old aunt.

The man reportedly has teddy bears that have certain places and berates staff if they're out of place - he is odd.

It is said that he is a nasty piece of work and considers himself above all others.

Strange! It does make me think they were either forced to divorce for optics or else they did separate and then wanted to reconcile but the powers that be wouldn’t let them. I get being amicable during divorce but their relationship is odd unless they are secretly a couple. If they want to be together they should be, hopefully it keeps Randy Andy on tight leash so he can’t harass underage girls.

Have you ever watched The Windsors? It’s how imagine the real Fergie and Andrew are 🤣

I’ve not seen anyone mention it in ages - hardly a current conversation so I’ll go with my first impression

Poor, I agree. It's the Christian festival of the year. Three holidays already as well. If William has no belief in God or Jesus at all, it's going go be tricky for him when he becomes head of the Church of England.

It’s almost as if the hereditary nature of being the head of a church (and other powers) has a negative side.

You know... when you think about it, why would you want to be somewhere with your ex when I imagine other members of the royal family are doing their best to avoid you and your ex. I wouldn't have the nerve to be honest. They've got some brass neck that's for sure!

Andrew is just hanging on to the connection for dear life in the hope he will be more prominent in time and wheeling out his ex puts across the idea of a loving family when the kids are there too. I dont doubt they are a loving family but maybe Ma and Pa York should just give up and step back.

I've never seen the Windsors. I thought it was PPhillip that couldn't stand Sarah, I imagined when he died, they'd formalise their very odd arrangement. Perhaps they have!

He and his family were at Anmer Hall with Katherine’s family.
Only my opinion, but I think he should have appeared at church with his own father.
On occasions such as this, his in-laws should take second place.

because they really are just like you & me!

Moveoverdarlin · 21/04/2025 09:58

I think they think ‘If a Sarah, a frumpy woman in her 60s attends these events, the public will forget about Randy Andy having a penchant for young girls’.

I think they think she is a steadying hand, whereas I think the public think she is a freeloader who needs a roof over her head and is keen to keep her foot in the palace door.

You really should watch it. It’s hilarious. Especially their portrayal of Beatrice and Eugenie.

that will never happen!

Frankly, the whole load of them are apologists for the child trafficking activity of their embarrassment of a brother. A man who seemingly denies everything.
That's the head of the church of England who supports him.
Fergie is the least of the problem

Lazycatsitsonthemat · 21/04/2025 08:17

So she wants an extravagant lifestyle she can’t afford? Or dear. Perhaps she could downgrade her expectations and live a simpler life without hanging onto the coattails of her disgraceful ex husband and his family.

Why, when she doesn't have to? She clearly hasn't been bothered so far why would she start being bothered now? And what difference does it make to you?

This was a private family event, rather than a state one, and for whatever reason, the RF consider her a part of their inner circle. She's not on the civil list, the tax payer doesn't bank roll her, it's no-one's business really (although a little intriguing, granted), which is why there's never been any statement or public clarification of the nature of their relationship.

Could not agree more.

I think she wants her cake and eat it….and make a trifle too. She gets to live in a fabulous house, waited on hand and foot and stay relatively relevant to the public so she can get work/sell her books. Can’t blame her really!
