Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

I find it hard to believe that the Head of State and his heir haven't been briefed with a psychological 'read' of H

I have often thought about this and hope it’s true.

probably why they grey rock. It’s what they’ve been advised to do.

I think Catherine ( and William ) had the measure of Meghan . Remember the complaint that C didn’t take M shopping ? Not sure if M and H were even engaged at that point . Then there was the bridesmaid issue and let’s not forget the ……..lipgloss !

I'm distinctly unbothered about lipgloss, avocados, nail polish and the rest, Mylovelygreendress, but completely agree that W&C will have had the measure of Meghan - W because he's used to being part of an institution which protects itself above all else and C because of her very stable upbringing

IME such people can spot an unprincipled chancer a mile off, and do all they can to dodge involvement - hence no doubt the "failing to rise to the bait" which is working so well for them

However tempting it is to blast off, sometimes the best approach can be a dignified silence, but unfortunately H&M don't seem to have learned this

NewAgeNewMe · 15/04/2025 08:31

I wonder if the grey rocking by the RF angers the Sussexes more? So the stuff and claims become more outrageous the more they are ignored.

I also wonder what the foreign office think of the Sussexes faux royal tours and now Ukraine? Must be a headache for them, especially as it’s clear they don’t listen to advice.

It’s almost as if they want what happened to Diana to happen to them, so they can say ‘I told you so’, without considering that it’s their own actions and behaviour that’s put them in that position.

sleetysnowflakes · 15/04/2025 08:33

They can’t trust H&M not to mediarise any contact they do have, H told an interviewer about a private family zoom call with KC, there was all that performative outrage between H&M in the Netflix programme about a text sent by W after Oprah, but not revealing the contents of course. And Meghan alluding to the “royal racist” without naming names saying “that would be damaging to them” or similar. Even the dog bowl/necklace story sounds like it has some details missing. Perhaps they think by holding back the actual details it is not a betrayal of privacy but by alluding to these things in a sensationalist way, it encourages the viewer to come to their own conclusion about what was said/the intent of the person which is probably worse/different to the truth.

So I totally get why the Royals are grey rocking all the way, sad as it is.

The "olive branch" rhetoric seems to have been reoccurring for 5 years - and seems to come direct from H&M PR when things are not going as planned at they are keen for news stories that link them to William and Kate or desperate for some engagement from the RF.

But given every conversation, e-mail and facetime ends up as content for the next podcast, book or Netflix show - my guess is that Charles and William no longer speak to them directly.

For me, the state of their relationship was most evident at the unveiling of the Diana statue when Harry was watching William’s every move trying to catch his eye but was studiously ignored.

This seems like the pattern. Harry dances a jig like a toddler trying to get attention and is ignored by the grownups.

Profhilodisaster · 15/04/2025 08:51

@NewAgeNewMe I expect the silence is driving them mad . I was told to completely ignore all contact from my abusive ex - 'Don't get in the ring with him' . He ramped up the texts and phone calls so I blocked him , he then sent letters, I ignored them. Narcissists cannot stand to be ignored but nc really is the only option. Any conversations will be twisted, taken the wrong way and just fuel to the fire.

NewAgeNewMe · 15/04/2025 09:01

I hope you are ok now.

I also don’t think that William actually sent a text to Harry that sparked the faux outrage in the NF show. If you are grey rocking you simply don’t engage. May have been a text on William’s behalf but I doubt it was actually from him.

I don’t think there was a text from anybody. Did they film the documentary in just one take? What are the chances of William just happening to text at the right moment? That was the one bit that really seemed staged to me

The text doesn't have to be fake though. Harry has shown that he can overreact and find victimhood in practically anything. William could have been saying good morning and he'd still feel attacked.

Staged in the same way as clip showing Meghan looking at her phone and saying "Beyonce just texted me. She says she hopes I'm alright." Cue Harry looking directly at the camera, wide-eyed, hands in the air, "Wow".

I never understood that reaction. Why is it wow that someone saw the chance to promote themselves?

I think it’s more meant to be “wow someone like Beyoncé has text me so look how important I am”. Which is why I think that was staged too

But she is a member of an actual monarchy. Why is Beyonce impressive?

Meghan belittles the monarchy. It’s given her everything she now has but she has no respect for it. Beyoncé gets her close to the A list. She doesn’t care that it’s the fact she married into the RF that enabled her to get close to the A list in the first place.

It does make that pretty clear doesn't it. But why is Harry so impressed?

NewAgeNewMe · 15/04/2025 09:32

He’s been told to by Meghan? Just a guess. He’ll do anything for her. His treatment of his family have shown that over the last few years. Apparently the late Queen said that he was a little ‘too in love’.

From Harry's POV, where he once only had to click his fingers to get what he wanted and the family indulged him I'd say you're right, @NewAgeNewMe
From hers, who knows, ssince a spiteful mindset like that isn't easy to gauge

And yes, the NF staging of "surprise texts" was ridiculous, but then so was the filming of Harry preparing for a cndlelit garden proposal (and never mind the chicken dinner Confused) with Meghan shrieking "It's happening!!" down the phone to someone
As if cameras would have been there at that precise moment ...

BigAnne · 15/04/2025 09:46

M would never have fitted in with the RF. She's too nouveau riche.

Presumably because she is a very rich woman with a lot of influence in the celebrity circles that Meghan wants to be part of. Same as inviting the Clooneys etc to the wedding

eta wrt to Harry being impressed, even royals can be star struck I suppose. Or Meghan told him it would make great telly

I counter your nouveau riche with parvenu. 😄

(From Merriam-Webster Dictionary) "one that has recently or suddenly risen to an unaccustomed position of wealth or power and has not yet gained the prestige, dignity, or manner associated with it"

Look I realise that sounds a bit snobbish but I do think there is some truth in it.

Harry’s strange ‘wow’ reaction to the Beyoncé text was so fake I thought he was being sarcastic at first.
