The royal family

Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

Megan implying the letter is to her by using photos of her rather than Harry is another sign that she is all about building herself as the Sussex brand. He is just the one who facilitated her getting the title and the royal kids. She has probably already realised he is a liability from a work and PR perspective. (I imagine the stuff in Spare put a few nails in the marital coffin too eg how he lost his virginity).

She is the only one who can earn the $$$ for the family coffers. So she goes all out to monetise every opportunity and wring the most PR possible out of everything. They brought it on themselves by leaving the RF in such a disingenuous public way but my god he must be exhausting to live with and she must feel a heavy burden on her shoulders as everyone watches their releases underperform. Their earning power is slowly deflating with every attempt. I imagine it’s all such a let down from the hopes she had on her wedding day.

She’d be better off getting a divorce (although of course it might not be better for the kids, or it might be depending on his behaviour at home). He’s a liability.

The Halo Trust are currently working in Ukraine, and have been for a while. Their work is absolutely critical. I've not seen or heard a word from Meg (or Harry) about it's work, the bravery of its people, or the fact that they are a charity and thus permanently having to fundraise as well as carrying out its core work of landmine removal, training local teams, and providing other crucial services.

Thank @TheAutumnCrow. This went through my mind, the campaign arguably most associated with Diana and there seems to be tumbleweed from them about it. A reminder from Harry about the ongoing work of the Halo Trust and its continuing humanitarian work including in Ukraine would be timely and helpful.

Instead, we have the spread empire and "I need protection".

I’ve just seen this on X.
Unbelievably, Meghan has put it up on her instagram, not relating it to Harry with a photo of him, (which there are many to choose from!) but next to recent photos of her!! Beyond weird, creepy and self absorbed.

Grim. But surely PH agreed to MM posting this maybe because he doesnt have any SM?

Are the two bottom photos of her trip to NYC?

I think if we fast forward a few years his chip on his shoulder will get a bit bigger and his mental health will unravel a bit more - partly in public but mainly in private - that they will separate. She will try to reinvent herself as a celebrity single mom from a centuries old monarchy working hard to provide for the kids (basically by doing what she does now).

He will be back in Nott Cott or similar small residence shielded from the public and leading a very low profile life quietly funded by whoever is then king. He will be at arms length from all the working royals as they won’t trust him to be private but they will provide him enough funds to live quietly and travel to the US to see his kids.

Megan will be the companion of an (much) older billionaire from a country who values her royal link but she won’t marry him as then she could no longer be Megan Sussex.

Well, she could still call herself Meghan Sussex, just not “Duchess of” 🤷‍♀️

I'm watching Rory McIlroy on the news and wondering if Meghan regrets the one that got away.....

Wait…was she going out with him??

Maybe NYPD really mean the Sussex team's driving was dangerous, just not bad enough for arrests?

Exactly. Just as it's likely when Justine Roberts said, 'Our [MN] users are deranged when it comes to Meghan' she was talking about the people now known to be an organised 'Sussex Squad'.

That can't be real, surely? I'm guessing whoever had the X page has cobbled together the spiel and some photos for a twitter post, not just screenshot whatever was on her Instagram?

That said, it's bad enough she put the spiel up on her page at all. I'm guessing she saw the reference to "family" as meaning her so feels entitled to claim it. Alternatively, we know she has form for thinking she's being clever when she's being ambiguous: she can always say she's so proud of Harry she had to post that thank you note on her own page (notwithstanding the lack of reference to him).

I don't know why I still bother with her, she's so tawdry in her greed and desperation to be something. There are still vestiges of grim fascination though. Just how terribly can a person unravel in public while thinking they're doing the opposite?

BunnyLake · 14/04/2025 14:34

@HiRen It’s quite fascinating really. At least we know why she gets up in the morning, her insatiable need to be a powerhouse, one of the big players, but what on earth gets her husband out of bed every morning (other than the kids). If it’s just these endless court cases what a sorry life he lives.

Meghan makes me think of Sisyphus. It may not be the same circumstances but that rock (fame) still needs pushing up that hill each day.

BunnyLake · 14/04/2025 14:45

He has a minimum £225 million fortune. That’s quite a sum.

I get the feeling these days that the latest human celebrity-philanthropist that Meg is attempting to be like is Lauren Sanchez. Bezos and Sanchez are stratospherically rich, pretty much hiring most of Venice for their nuptials, and both successful & well known in their own right. I reckon - and it really is just 'my reckon' - that Meg wouldn't mind a storyline like Lauren's.

How might a person make themselves 'Sanchez level attractive' to billionaires? It might involve a strategy which includes TV success and philanthropy, being a business founder and author of a children's book, pre-existing status as a business founder, plus of course the attractive looks.

She wouldn’t be better off at the moment she needs to wait until Charles dies, Harry will probably be in for a hefty inheritance, she wouldn’t want to miss out on that.

Doubt it. When the monarch dies everything goes to the next in line. That's how the system is maintained! If I were Harry or Meghan I'd be praying every night for Charles's recovery and long life as once he goes they will be beholden to William's generosity, which I would not expect to be lavish given everything that's happened.

What does this amount to? I know that he owns Highgrove. I'm still not convinced it would go beyond his own heir. Charles knows how the game is played.

ajandjjmum · 14/04/2025 15:43

He doesn't own Highgrove. It is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and KC rents it.

No idea about his private fortune but I presume he has a substantial one as did Queen Elizabeth. He does not own Highgrove, it’s owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, he will be paying rent to William for that now.

Highgrove is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall which is William’s now.

There are probably some trusts set up for his grandchildren and I’d assume that he’d plan to leave more to the youngest four as George will be vastly wealthy in the future as the heir.

I can’t believe he won’t leave Harry something but perhaps will is amended to tie it up a bit more securely non current circus.

I would imagine there are all sorts of trust funds and I would agree that there will be some sort of conditions in place to
avoid Meghan getting her hands on it.

I was thinking also that when Charles does die, I can just imagine the amount of “waaagh” coming from the Sussexes, even if they do receive a substantial amount of it still won’t be fair or enough in their eyes 🙄

amusing typo

Most of the wealth passes monarch to monarch as that is free from inheritance tax. The Queen Mother did have some wealth of her own that did not pass from her husband to QEII and she apparently left money to her great grandkids via a trust. Harry inherited his last Sept on his 40th birthday and it’s said to be about £7m.

If the patter follows then the late Queen Elizabeth may have left money for her great grandkids kids including Archie and Lilibet. Charles likely won’t have great grand children when he passes away but he may leave a trust for Archie and Lilibet as well as William’s kids. Most wealth will go to King William though so the financial disparity between William - who already has the Duchy of Cornwall with about £21m a year - and Harry will only increase as the years go by.
