Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

@IdaGlossop or perhaps @Serenster knows

"making insinuations about the security information he heard in camera last week, making him in contempt if court. "

Given he didn't quote anything, just gave his opinion details were shocking , is this contempt of court or just very bad form.

Either way he or his barrister must be in line for a reprimand. He's implying counsel for the HO are telling lies , surely?

@serensterwill definitely know, but speaking to a national newspaper about evidence from an in camera hearing which you attended, and in advance of a verdict, sounds like contempt of court to me.

Serenster · 13/04/2025 19:35

Me too IdaGlossop!

Yes, you'd have to wonder how long they can sit and let this circus go on, but what can they realistically do? Cut Harry out of the will?

Three things they could do. My bleat of the week: put out feelers for him to be made a vexatious litigant, so we hear far less of him and less public money is spent on his gripes. Remove the Sussex titles on the basis that they have been used for commercial purposes, against the Sandringham Summit agreement. Remove him as a Councillor of State. Persuade the Invictus board to refer itself to the Charity Commission over financial propriety, or persuade an external interested party to do so.

KatherineParr · 13/04/2025 19:48

@Serenster, what do you think the possible consequences are for Harry if he's found to be in contempt of court? Or would they be unlikely to pursue this?

It's all getting very silly now.

Oh, Python! 😀

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 13/04/2025 20:07

What an ego she must have! With zero talent to back it up.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 13/04/2025 20:28

Meghan got away with lying to the court so I expect Harry will as well🙄

@IdaGlossop I don’t think that KC will do anything, he doesn’t want to. PW might in the future though.

I don’t think anything needs to be done at the moment. Harry is too far away from the throne and I think that they are making themselves more and more ridiculous. Removing titles etc will only make them squawk louder about all the perceived injustices heaped on them. I think grey rocking is the best course. I agree that things might change when William becomes
king, especially if Harry starts up his whole “look at how important I am” thing all
over again

I’m not sure about Charles not doing anything, I think he may well address the H&M problem (at some point) himself. It would seem a bit unfair to pass the problem of your wayward younger son down to your older son to deal with. Best Charles addresses it if there is to be even the tiniest chance that something between the two brothers could be salvaged in the future.

Well, it’s what I’d do but 🤷‍♀️

I agree with this, Charles should definitely be the one to take action, as his relationship with Harry is unlikely to be mended during his reign.

Charles leaving the Harry issue for William to deal with would be really unfair and probably mean that the two of them never speak again, which isn’t what Charles would plan for as a father.

MayaKovskaya · 13/04/2025 21:42

I'm sure that William and Charles have had many discussions about this.

IdaGlossop · 13/04/2025 21:43

BruFord · 13/04/2025 16:58

I can’t understand that either @Ethela . He’d have tight security at a Royal residence!

He thinks he'd be bugged. I bet he'd have to give up his tech so he couldn't film and record, and be searched for Mike's. A bit humiliating for the son of a king.

Profhilodisaster · 13/04/2025 21:46

I'm not sure that anything needs to be done at all, just let them get on with it and be the victims of their own downfall. I also think that most sensible people don't think it reflects badly on KC and W (apart from maybe KC and the palace covering up for Harry's past cock ups ) I don't think anyone blames the RF for the mess H&M have got themselves into.
Taking titles away will just give them more victim ammunition.

I agree KC doesn't want to do anything but the courtiers and PW may push him. The risk of doing nothing is that the monarchy itself starts to look ridiculous. Sentebale and Invictus after all have their roots in the Royal family.

BasiliskStare · 13/04/2025 22:05

Well just whilst I'm on a roll Chelsea Register Office has a side entrance. So he could have gone in and out through that so as not to be standing on the King's road. "Please arrive via the Chelsea Manor Street entrance when you arrive and report to our reception desk and security staff. Your guests can proceed directly to the Ceremony Waiting Area upstairs on the ceremonies floor." Sadly no parking but I'm sure the bespoke security could have sorted that out. 😁

It is interesting about former PM's and if they lived abroad forever - I personally would think there should then be a re-adjustment of their security.

The ongoing post-service security for PMs is not to stop the individual from getting killed; it is more to ensure that they are not kidnapped and.then forced to reveal state secrets ( that are still relevant). Where they live ( and whether they are called Truss or not) is irrelevant.

Meghan spen an absolute fortune the year she got married an left Charles to pick up the bill - 4½ times any other Royal in Europe

Yes, @Lunde, and I sometimes wonder what happened to all that designer clobber, none of which (AFAIK) has ever been seen again

I suppose if it comes to it (and it's still in her possession) she could do a Diana-style auction ...

No idea whether its true but there were rumours a few years ago that she used her stylist friends like Jessica Mulroney to sell off most of the stuff she billed Charles for and she pocketed the money.

JADS · 13/04/2025 15:30

Would Harry have been given security to attend a wedding? Anne, Edward and Sophie who I would say are now more important than him wouldn't, and Bea, Eug, Peter, Zara etc wouldn't either.

I find as a someone who fights mistruths, there are an awful lot of leaks to his favourite mouthpiece People Magazine which lack credibility. Do people really not see this?

I really cannot see why armed bodyguards would be needed at a wedding. He has a security team that can go through arrangements and even if they can't carry guns they can be at the venue.

IcedPurple · 13/04/2025 16:07

The source is 'close business friends' whoever they are when they're at home.

But yet another media leak by Harry. Is anyone keeping count?

The impression I'm getting is that Harry doesn't seem to think he needs to cooperate and possibly compromise with anyone. He doesn't want to inform RAVEC of his movements in advance, and doesn't want to ask his family for permission to stay in royal accommodation because he might not get what he thinks is his due, and of course 'they' might be spying on him.

As I've said before, Charles made a smart move by not renewing the lease on Frogmore. Harry himself is a security threat.

It's a bit creepy that he is stalking the Wales family

But he's always turned them down

  • Frogmore cottage at Windsor
  • St James Palace
  • Buckingham Palace

Harry is really like the toddler stamping his food in a tantrum

It's probably too big for her now though. I guess she could always get it altered.

Yeah that white Dior tent monstrosity that she wore in Morocco has probably been flogged on vinted

Did he appeal the ‘catastrophic car chase’?

I know in his entitled and arrogant way he demanded all the photos from Backgrid be handed over to him (he just so happened to have a RAVEC hearing the following week🤔) and was told in no uncertain terms to ‘do one’.

TMZ quoted Backgrid as replying: “In America, as I’m sure you know, property belongs to the owner of it: Third parties cannot just demand it be given to them, as perhaps Kings can do.
“Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the Crown were rejected by this country long ago.
“We stand by our founding fathers.”

What a 🔥😂

It was obvious what was going on, it was a farce and made them both look very silly.

Yeah he appealed it (he needs to relax with all these lawsuits lol)

I’m surprised to be honest, I thought it all sounded very melodramatic and exaggerated but clearly the police there agree with him that it was in fact dangerous 🤷‍♀️

Prince Harry loses legal bid for police protection in UK as NYPD admits their paparazzi chase was ‘dangerous’

London’s High Court ruled against Harry Wednesday, while back in NYC, police have reportedly recognized that security is a major issue for the Sussexes.

I wonder if he wrote to them telling them that they must issue a statement saying it was dangerous .
