Harry and RAVEC - claims he was trapped by RF

Okay. So first of all thanks to everyone on the last thread for a really civilised discussion about Harry and his security. The Telegraph has an exclusive article where Harry claims that his security was removed to “trap” him in the RF. I’m really sorry but for some reason I am unable to archive Telegraph articles at the moment. Could anyone help?

That's a hell of a lot of pancake mix to shift

Pancake???!!! 🤯🤯🤯????? Crêpe, please! Share with me my sweet memories of my time in the UK, and crumble over an English shortbread cookie.

Sorry, you're right. far more elevated than a pancake

I honestly don’t believe that they need round-the-clock security in Montecito anyway. Who’s going to try and get to them there? I live in the US and they’re not massive household names here tbh.

If anyone in that area were targeted, surely it would be someone really famous here like Oprah, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc.

No they don’t need it, their egos want it though, I imagine Meghan thoroughly enjoyed the motorcade to the theatre, I wonder what other celebrities think of this performance, do they all travel in motorcades when they go out for the evening?

Why do you think that @vera99? It’s impractical for lots of reasons to supply security abroad. Not just the cost but the impact on the Met RVIP teams who aren’t that large and have to provide security for quite a few people. The same rules would apply to Boris as they do to everyone else.

One would imagine outside of the UK he would fund private protection that would provide just as good cover as could be supplied by the Met. As ex army he could pack a piece as well ! I'll save my ire for Liz Truss that gets the full caboodle for life as she trolls around the world spewing toxic nonsense.

I think he wants the access to intelligence that the Met has though. He can’t pay for that 🤷‍♀️

I know, just interested in how his security was provided and who paid for it.

From what I can glean they paid for their own for at least most of the time after they went to France. Presumably as Govenor of the Bahamas his time there would have been state funded

Edward did a bit of a number on George VI, salting away Duchy of Cornwall money and not declaring that he had it, making sure he got a bigger payout. He also put George in the position of having to buy Balmoral and Sandringham off him to keep them in the family.

The motorcade in NYC last night was just bleurgh and performance. I think it was partly backing up Harry's claims (somehow) and partly a show of importance.

No-one is going to trust Harry with sensitive intelligence information.

Harry's lack of discretion is probably part of the assessment that goes into creating this bespoke service:

Can we trust him to keep his gob shut - No
Can we trust him to do as he's told - No
Can we assume that at some point he'll be off his head on whatever the drug du jour is - Yes.

Well if they are picking up explicit threats against them then I'm sure they will share that with him I can't see why not.

Trouble is @vera99 round the clock security on at times multiple sites costs a fortune, hence why some of us think that he wants IPP status, meaning he wouldn't have to pay out in the US (or anywhere else outside the UK he goes)

TBH, if they had gone and lived privately and Harry had made a heartfelt declaration of his genuine fears for his family because his Mum, threats, etc etc, I'd have been happy to continue to carry on stumping up a few pennies a year to pay for it, in recognition of the fact he didn't ask to be born Royal. He blew that with his attacks on his family, the wider UK population and the quasi Royal nonsense tours since.

Not if he’s not in this country. I doubt they are monitoring what happens in the States

Yes I remember reading that about Sandringham and Balmoral. I couldn't find anything that indicated whether or not they had any security provided but I suppose the big payoff was to end the deal.

The motorcade was ludicrous but typical. I am really fed up with their antics now. Not a mature bone in either of their bodies!

I'm sure British intelligence liaise with their American counterparts when appropriate, but I doubt the 5th in line is a high priority for either.

In any case, intelligence briefings are never shared with the 'principal', certainly not one as dim, immature and indiscreet as Harry.

wigsonthegreenandhatsforthelifting · 12/04/2025 20:16

He wants to have his security paid for him as he was used to. He doesn't want to have to put his hand in his own pocket. No Harry, you blew that when you resigned. You don't get the perks of the job if you're not doing it!

Yes. Sorry I wasn’t clear I meant more in terms of what’s happening in the UK. Agree that principals wouldn’t be party to intelligence briefings. That would really feed in to Harry’s paranoia as well 😆

Not sure Harry would have bothered going to Ukraine if he didn’t think it would a) gain him brownie points for his ridiculous IPP claim as an important something or other. b) gain him publicity and c) enable him to do the same as his brother

But neither Oprah nor Gynnie is a Duchess! They don't have a dinky little coat of arms on their doormat!

That's the difference.

A man who doesn’t stand for anything speaks of a man who only stands for himself.

Tim Wilson changes his mind and allegiances at whim and I beg to differ that Harry has any dignity left.

If Harry watches that video and the 500 fulsome qoutes under it he would cry. I have never seen a more eloquent and passionate homage to him and sadly for some here millions around the world feel the same.

Ah, the former UKIP candidate and reality TV contestant Tim Wilson, not the Emeritus Professor of the Arts of the Renaissance, University of Oxford Tim Wilson.

MayaKovskaya · 12/04/2025 20:29

Prince Harry has shown precious little decency. A bit of human connection with his family wouldn't go amiss, instead of exploiting them for a series of juicy stories to sell.
