Delusional as ever. He claims it was the RF removing his security to trap him. Completely disregarding that the RF have no say over such matters and its an issue for the Home Secretary/RAVEC.

Imagine what must go on in his mind. Stay away from drugs kids.

‘He suggested that he would find it hard to forgive his treatment and added that his “worst fears have been confirmed” by secret evidence he had heard in court.
The Duke believes his taxpayer-funded security was removed in a failed attempt force him to stay in Britain, after he announced they were stepping back from public duties and moving to the US.’

‘The Duke made clear that he will continue to fight for what he regards as justice, whatever the outcome of the case.
When he believes he has uncovered a wrong, he said, he is unable to let things lie and feels the need to “get under the bonnet and fix it”, adding that he was “driven by exposing injustice”’

And of course he’s been shocked by all the secrets revealed during the trial ….which of course he can’t tell you about. Convenient that?

Theresa May was our local MP. When she was PM and therefore a definite terrorist target, she managed to go around the area (Waitrose, the pharmacy etc) with a barely visible security presence. There was a bit of a kerfuffle when she left the house to go back to London but nothing OTT. In fact she once visited our school for a visit with our head and it was also incredibly low key. The only thing to attract attention was the police dogs sniffing around.
Actually H himself visited my friend’s school and she said it was just him in one Range Rover, accompanied by another. It was all very low key. What changed?

He did

There is apparently film footage or photos of him snorting vodka which causes brain damage apparently.....I think this explains a lot if it's true

Oh yawn, not the RF stuff again. I wish they'd all go on a permanent holiday. Even if was at our expense I'd be ok with that. It wouldn't be that much different to what they're at all year anyway.

W and Kate are on their third holiday this year skiiing in France this time and she looks the epitome of good health skiing down the slopes. But her last engagment was on the 19th March 24 days ago - whatever this is it isn't work. The late Queen didn't allegedly nickname them the "Dolittles" for nothing.

Well for one they aren't a seemingly infinite number of hate filled rants about her all over social media and she appears to live a very quiet and virtous life away from the limelight. Compared to who came after her in the Tory party she was up there as on of the best until the Brexit disaster consumed her. If only public life had more like her. <sigh>

He gets protection when he comes to the UK. Provided at the taxpayers expense.

What he wants is IPP status so he doesn’t have to pay the security bill in the US or anywhere else he decides to travel to.

This is not true. I know Royal fans keep repeating it.

The IPP act is quite clear who is covered. Prince William is not a person with IPP under the act unless he is with Charles, or on a working visit or event. In their free time, Charles is the only member of the Royal family who always has IPP status.

Harry may be trying to equal security to William, but he is not trying to get IPP status.

  • “a protected person” means, in relation to an alleged offence, any of the following, namely—
(a)a person who at the time of the alleged offence is a Head of State, a member of a body which performs the functions of Head of State under the constitution of the State, a Head of Government or a Minister for Foreign Affairs and is outside the territory of the State in which he holds office; (b)a person who at the time of the alleged offence is a representative or an offical of a State or an offical or agent of an international organisation of an intergovernmental character, is entitled under international law to special protection from attack on his person, freedom or dignity and does not fall within the preceding paragraph; (c)a person who at the time of the alleged offence is a member of the family of another person mentioned in either of the preceding paragraphs and— (i)if the other person is mentioned in paragraph (a) above, is accompanying him, (ii)if the other person is mentioned in paragraph (b) above, is a member of his household;

We had a work visit from Eugenie- one car, one security/driver.

LivelyLemonQuoter · 12/04/2025 20:17

Most people could not recognise Eugenie. Not sure I would either.

As a cancer survivor ( 🤞) I am delighted that Catherine is looking well and I hope that continues to recover .
The article you are linking is over 6 years old ! It doesn’t say the late Queen called them the dolittles ! Apparently she was concerned that Catherine didn’t have a pre marriage career but once married she encouraged W and C to spend time away from the spotlight for a while.

LivelyLemonQuoter · 12/04/2025 20:54

@AtIusvue I have quoted from the legislation. You can't just say not true.

You clearly didn’t see some of the awful comments TM would receive on social media, as do many of our politicians sadly. She was also a potential target for some pretty nasty terrorist organisations. Yet somehow she was able to get around without a four car motorcade, unlike MM the other night in Manhattan.

LivelyLemonQuoter · 12/04/2025 21:07

Theresa May was mocked for things like running through a field of wheat. No famous person said she should be persuaded through the streets naked with people throwing faeces as her.

The late Queen was 20th century. Had to have boots on the ground.
Times have changed and - thank God - the Royal Family has been allowed to change, too.
I don't need them to visit my village. I've got Internet, and so have they.

Only according to that article you linked - she didn't.

But then your posting history when it comes to W&C never has been the most accurate

HonoriaBulstrode · 11/04/2025 19:52

What a lot of bollocks that article is. Struggling to decide which bit to quote.

The Duke would love to return more frequently to see family

Do family want to see him?

and support his charities without having to hide in hotels.

But he doesn't have to hide in hotels, does he. He's been offered accommodation in royal residences that have security.

Except he has not been offered accommodation. He has been turned down.

ThisFluentBiscuit · 13/04/2025 03:04

I honestly think he's inherited his late mother's mental-health problems. It's sad. Both of them immensely privileged and yet two of the unhappiest people I've ever known in the public eye. For both of them, the depth of their misery relative to their circumstances is out of all proportion. I truly believe that Diana had that health issue and that Harry inherited it. No blame or shame whatsoever from me; it's an illness.

I know Diana had a bad marriage, but she had the resources to leave old Jug Ears and Horse Face to it and have a great life. There was no need for 16 years of utter misery. And there's no objective reason for Harry's deep, deep misery, either.

I suspect Meghan might have some MH issues, too. Most people and most media welcomed her warmly, but all she could see was the negative stuff from the gutter press, who no one listens to anyway. Harry and Meghan both focus intently on any small negative thing, even when surrounded by positive things. The RF gave her an amazing wedding, a title, clothes and jewellery worth thousands, and were quite prepared to give her an apt at Kensington Palace just as big as Kate and William's. But all she could see was that the Palace wouldn't respond to gutter-press sniping. And Harry was convinced that his brother was briefing the press against him, which I highly doubt.

It's all very sad.

ThisFluentBiscuit · 13/04/2025 03:09

It's only their second holiday, and anyway, they deserve it after the nightmare they've been through.

I once saw Julia Roberts out shopping . No security .

Gosh! She's one of my faves. What does she look like in real life? How tall?

sashh · 13/04/2025 04:01

Kimmeridge · 11/04/2025 19:47

He’s the King’s son so he should get top protection for his family and himself

Why? TLQE children didn't all get top protection. Just Charles.

The whole point is he doesn't get it 'just because' he's a Prince. Its done dependant on the risk assessment

They can't allow him to pay for the Met security the way he wants. It'd open the floodgates for any wealthy person to 'rent a cop' and that's a disaster just waiting to happen

I don't think the 'rent a cop' argument holds water.

Do you remember The Bill? When they called in armed police officers the extras playing them were actual met fire arms officers.

Kimmeridge · 13/04/2025 04:46

I dont know where you get that idea 😂😂

Even in the unlikely event that was the case that would be a totally different scenario. They'd be doing that in their own time almost as a second job. But I cant see any sources that suggests that actually happened. A quick Google confirms they were all actors

That's nothing like the scenario of bbwealthy people paying for police protection. That would be protection which would be part of their on duty detail because they'd need vehicles, comms etc & as a result the already very thin blue line would become even thinner.

The 'rent a cop' has been highlighted as a reason why Harry can't pay for them, because they won't open the gates for that.
