Thread after thread of pulling apart Harry and Meghan. 0.1% discussing what Andrew did?

What is going on with MN?

'How is a netflix show about food etc a scandal?'

I dunno but the price she's charging for a packet of pancake mix seems pretty scandalous 😁. $14 ffs, for Bleached Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Nonfat Dry Milk, Vanilla Powder (Dextrose, Vanilla Extractives, Vanillin), Granulated Cane Sugar, Salt.

Ocado sell a similar sized packet of Aunt Bessie's which seems to contain fewer additives for £1.30!

I have never seen 7,000 negative posts on threads criticising any other series

You’ve counted? Blimey!

Check out Telly addicts. There’s one’s about reality TV shows, soaps, even popular series like last one laughing and adolescence.

Again are we only supposed to be Naice Ladies and say lovely things?

You really think her TV show isn’t a vehicle to flog her wares? You really think it was delayed because of the wild fires?

Not everything needs evidence. It’s called common sense. She’s a blatant grifter, and this is just another obvious form of grifting.

So what? She is selling some products and she's made a Netflix series, so flippin' what?
What does it matter to you that she had to delay it? It could have been a variety of reasons, why get so steamed up about why she delayed it

It's what people do all the time this sort of thing... I just can't imagine getting worked up about it

Flog her wares! 😅
Not everything needs evidence, no. But you make sweeping statements without any substance.

TBH the show doesn’t really bother me. It was a pleasant enough watch.

But like I said earlier I’m more bothered out the racism, misogyny, endless lies, grifting, usurping other people’s positions and bullying. But her superfans like to say things like “OMG she only made a show!” To deflect from these very serious and consistent problems.

Reetpetitenot · 04/04/2025 08:25

And 12 sachets of tea for $12. 😂

I think I'd prefer these - much better value.

Haha. No! I can do simple maths though! (Only simple, mind!)

7 numbered threads entitled As ever about her lifestyle series. Each thread has a maximum of 1000 posts. 1,000 x 7 = 7,000. Before I get jumped on, the last thread hasn't finished yet though. That's the extent of my simple maths!

In the past I have been on telly addicts, I've never seen 7,000 posts full of negativity about one of the presenters of those shows!

As so it wasn’t 7000 comments about her show. It was about her brand. Which is what’s she wants / it’s what anyone with a brand wants. For it to be talked about.

But like I say the brand and show aren’t a problem. The racism, bullying, lying, misogyny etc are.

I could walk into central London and find similar prices for teas etc. So for me it's not widely expensive. Also it's not scandalous what she is charging. People can price their products as they see fit noone is being forced to buy it.

Reetpetitenot · 04/04/2025 09:43

Gee, I thought the 😁 was a sign I wasn't being deathly serious. Check out the Fortnum link above - now there's really good value. Again 😁.
Actually, you're right on the price point - aspirational products🤨 for Squaddies without breaking the bank, but also somewhat stupidly priced for what is, in effect, Aunt Bessie pancake mix and a lemon and ginger tea bag.

Edited emoji - where's my beloved MN hmm emoji gone?

Samcro · 04/04/2025 09:59

she can charge what she likes .no one is being forced to buy. no one is being forced to watch her show. I haven't

PoppysAunt · 04/04/2025 10:16

I think aspirational products are sold by people with whom you would aspire to be, or copy their lifestyle.
For example, Emma the Marchioness of Longleat. Very watchable shows, great cooking, lovely vibe. However, Emma is very natural and likable, so I think that helps.

glitterturd · 04/04/2025 10:16

@JandamiHash it's obvious that there are people who just endlessly repeat the same things over and over again. Either they genuinely can't see any issue with the Sussexes lying etc or they can and are just trying to deflect from the truth. They try to deflect from the Sentebale problem by relegating it all to hatred of Meghan and her colour. You see this in many of the posts on SM. There is no hiding the truth though.

glitterturd · 04/04/2025 10:22

Helen Mirren once said " Before you argue with someone, ask yourself, is that person even mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective. Because if not, there's absolutely no point.
Not every argument is worth your energy. Sometimes, no matter how clearly you express yourself, the other person isn’t listening to understand—they’re listening to react. They’re stuck in their own perspective, unwilling to consider another viewpoint, and engaging with them only drains you.
There’s a difference between a healthy discussion and a pointless debate. A conversation with someone who is open-minded, who values growth and understanding, can be enlightening—even if you don’t agree. But trying to reason with someone who refuses to see beyond their own beliefs? That’s like talking to a wall. No matter how much logic or truth you present, they will twist, deflect, or dismiss your words, not because you’re wrong, but because they’re unwilling to see another side.
Maturity isn’t about who wins an argument—it’s about knowing when an argument isn’t worth having. It’s realizing that your peace is more valuable than proving a point to someone who has already decided they won’t change their mind. Not every battle needs to be fought. Not every person deserves your explanation.
Sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is walk away—not because you have nothing to say, but because you recognize that some people aren’t ready to listen. And that’s not your burden to carry .."

I think this has some strong points and sums up the tactics used by some on here. The idea of " having to win" is often shown on here by people saying " oh I have to go and pick this or that now or I have to go to work now" blah blah as if somehow they have given in by not responding there and then. It's not an airport lounge. No one cares except those posters 😂.

Wise words from Helen Mirren Glitterturd

Oh the irony! 😀.

And thanks for yet another attempt to close down healthy debate!

Prince Andrew and alleged Chinese spy prepare for more court disclosures

Him and the spy have hit the news again - so there may be more to dicuss.

He's shown shocking poor judgment at best time and again.

A very interesting read! Thanks Sumor for link.

TulipTiptoer · 04/04/2025 11:49

I'm not going anywhere whatever our lovely Helen says, and no, posting here is not causing me any distress!

Interesting link @sumor

What struck me was this...
The court papers about Yang Tengbo's alleged activities in the UK are becoming public after a legal battle including other media outlets for more transparency in the semi-secret case.

The fact that members of the royal family are supposed to be apolitical, yet Andrew's aide was busying himself setting up the "Eurasia Fund" touting for £3billion for investment in China state projects. How iffy is this...

The UK's security agencies appear to have been concerned about the scheme because it might lead to a member of the royal family advancing the Chinese Communist Party's aim of expanding its economic and diplomatic influence.

I think there is a lot more to come out about this. It's not going away. I bet the royal family wish it would.

There is obviously a legal battle ongoing to hush this up.

AtIusvue · 04/04/2025 11:54

Can it get lower?

Meghan is merching the outfit she was wearing, when she posted a pic for international women’s day. Harry is also included in the photo.

I mean. We already know she’s using a fandom merchandising firm (snow commerce) to sell to As ever to her Sussex fans. Which is only one level above selling Meg mugs (no, not Harry) and pens.

But this….its so crass.

Samcro · 04/04/2025 11:58

why does it matter what she is selling? I don't get it. KC sells expensive stuff, I don't buy it. Harrods/john lewis name any shop you like sell expensive stuff. I don't buy it, no one has to.
if she priced it low, that would be wrong.

Using a post from international women’s day….to hawk merch…..it’s very tacky.

And can I ask, as a fan, how do you feel that she is using a fandom merchandising firm to target her fans wirh As ever products?

TulipTiptoer · 04/04/2025 12:03

Haha clicked on your link Atlus. What a weird picture! It looks like Harry is performing the heimlich manouvre as Meghan is choking on a plum stone! Wouldn't induce me to buy the dress but don't care a fig that she's selling dresses, up to her. Hope it's successful !

AtIusvue · 04/04/2025 12:05

The king also doesnt post pics on insta with commissionable links for the Savile Row suit he’s wearing.

Beyond tacky

Maybe because he's The King? Of course he doesn't! He's not having to earn his own money!

Meghan and Harry live thousands of miles away and they are making a living.

AtIusvue · 04/04/2025 12:09

I’m seriously interested to know, what her fans think of Meghan cashing in on her fans?

She uses the firm Snow Commerce:

‘Snow Commerce is based in Cincinnati and provides managed ecommerce services used by a number of leading brands to cash in on merchandise opportunities among their fan communities.

Don’t you feel exploited?

Printful acquires merch specialist - Printweek

Ecommerce ‘unicorn’ Printful has acquired merchandise specialist Snow Commerce.
