So we will see some you-tubers trying her wares ? Maybe Lady C has connections in the US that will ship her some over to the UK to critique ?

Now it’s switched to everything sold out again.

Definitely a PR gag. They only listed a small batch of each item and of course they're sold out now. The aim is also to harvest data and get people signing up to be notified for a restock. Email data and customer leads are almost worth more than a physical sale in the ecommerce world.

They also want the tagline of "selling out in 10mins" to be in the media because it's their final chance to clutch at a straw of success. If the products were sold en-masse in a supermarket they would not come anywhere near selling out.

It's very bizarre that they didn't even make a physical launch. (Unless they did and I missed it?) Considering these are food items, taste and touch seem to be crucial. A collaboration with a supermarket or restaurant would have made far more sense. Get celebs or influencers to taste the food and post images of themselves eating it. Selling food with an digital image and line of text is soulless and pointless.

"not a shred of the branding or product range is designed to appeal to liberal feminists, immigrants, creatives, LGBTQ+ community"

???/
and what would that packaging look like?
ranbows on it?

Literally every other brand of food on the shelf. Kelloggs, Nestle, Coca Cola, Heinz. The packaging of Oreos is pretty neutral. You don't look at a pack of Oreos or can of Coke and immediately know what sort of gender, age or ethnicity they're aiming it at. Yet with As Ever, it's quite obvious. There are also plenty of zeitgeisty brands like Poppi that are clearly designed for younger people.

It's actually pretty offensive to insinuate gay people only buy food with rainbows on it...where did that line of logic even come from? So if you were in charge of product design, you would put pandas on food aimed for Asians and mexican hats on Latino food?

I was at the dentist. I can try but I'm not very technical, well check no one else has done it though.

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/04/2025 15:10

pushchairprincess · 02/04/2025 15:12

All of the stock is marked now as 'coming soon' lets hope she has restocked by tomorrow or it will look really mismanaged so soon after the launch. The haters will have a field day.

MrsLeonFarrell · 02/04/2025 15:16

On her Instagram it says

"Limited quantities for each seasonal drop"

I'm not sure they are priced high enough for a limited run to make money? Do people think this is a test run to see if its worth Netflix investing money for a full rollout?

I managed it but it took me three tries! Where are the offspring when I need them!

Bruisername · 02/04/2025 15:17

I thought they had committed to selling on two ‘mega malls’?

the ingredients aren’t bad

Bless her , here she is thanking her boy squad and a shout out to her girl squad too . She's not very good at reading the room is she?

They are pretty misogynist posts by Megan 🤔

@DuskyPink1984 - I've said before tbf to M I could see the packaged jam being something someone might buy as a little thank you gift or if they were making up a hamper for someone or for an aunty so she has something under the Christmas tree because the packaging is quite pretty. But the jam as an everyday thing just seems way too expensive.

I tell you what it reminds me of ( the keepsake box jam) a bit like the Bayliss and Harding gift sets which our little Tesco have every Christmas.

Let’s not forget!! Those who think the price isn’t too bad are probably thinking it’s the size of a full sized jar of jam here!

Bruisername · 02/04/2025 15:39

If she’s going to be changing the products regularly I suppose she will attract that gift market

I’m just not sure the mixes work with that range. She would have been better doing a little video on how to make crepes to go with the jam or whatever

@jeffgoldblum Now, Jeff. Upthread I have done some sterling work comparing the price per 100g of As ever (unboxed) spread versus other brands. If you or others don't wish to use the vital information I have gathered at no small effort to myself - well - I have no sympathy when they end up with a doll's house sized jar of spread.

😂

@DuskyPink1984 It's 215g - the size of a mustard jar. - as with Jeff see above for my pat pending pricing comparisons

I had missed your sterling work @BasiliskStare, apologies!
you should know that without gin or a cabbage bowl I can’t possibly understand sizing! 🤣

actually, a quick google shows many many asian food brands with pandas on.
Should we write to them all and tell them how offended we are?
